Ironically enough those are the only two positions at which the Bulls are athletic... Rose and Noah.  Name another "athletic" player on that roster... I dare you.
Luol Deng. But I right there with you that the Bulls are not more athletic than the Heat.

not sure how anyone could say "way more athletic than the heat". lebron and d-wade are among the most athletic players in the league. at the point guard and center position you could say the heat are not athletic, but like bakes said, i think a fast-paced open court game actually plays into the heat's favor. although i think their defense can still be stifling in half-court but their offense could struggle if wade and lebron have to settle for jumpers.

overall, i think heat will be tough to beat

If Dallas doesn't choke this year I can see them coming out of the West. Oklahoma and Memphis don't have enough talent to beat them. I can see Kobe breaking down if he has to continue carrying the Lakers; in fact  I will enjoy seeing that happen.

Kobe doh have to keep carryin no lakers, sometimes kobe head a lil too big.  How much success LA gets dumpin de damn basketball into de post, only chandler culd match up w/Gasol or Bynum or Lamar, obvious 1 big man advtg once 2 bigs on de floor.  Apart from dat LA love to play heart attack basketball, doh push til necessary, most of de team went to Rodeo drive after goin up 16 early in de 3rd qtr last nite.

Yes, if they keep playin dat way Dallas have more dan a chance....

I'm a big Dallas fan and really happy with the win. But like you say, Kobe needs to realize he don't need to carry this team. He playing a brand of hero ball that is not what they need. Their biggest asset for this year and recently, has been their size and ability to create mismatches with Gasol, Bynum and Odom. Kobe can get his shot any time he wants, but doesnt mean he needs to jack up 30 shots a game and not get others involved.

Fun fact from the game: Kobe attempted 29 FGA and not a single one at rim. He only had one FGA inside 11 feet on play-by-play.

Not placing the blame on Kobe entirely though - Phil Jackson was way too reactionary in this game by not playing Gasol, Odom and Bynum enough together to force mismatches on the Dallas defensive end.

We will see what happens in Game 2 but boy am I happy the Mavs took game 1.

wow. chanders deserve better than that.

when asked about throwing his wicket away at times, he was honest and said that sometimes it is true. says he tries to entertain the fans as well. he admits he could be better about settling down at times but says the west indies is too reliant on him.

espn showing it?

Nah... ESPN doh broadcast La Liga games.  GOL carrying it at 3:30 though, so yuh should be able to at least find some links.

if you in the US espn3 carrying it. if you have certain cable/internet providers like comcast or in some universities, you could access it.

« on: April 11, 2011, 10:28:29 AM »
I like Fazeer... but he talking shit in that article.

Quote
First and foremost, this is still very much a colonial society where, in our 49th year of political independence, a hierarchical status quo based on colour and class, which also values so-called First World foreign over anything local, is deeply embedded in the national psyche.

Beenhakker wasn't criticized (more than he was) for leaving Latapy on the bench not as a result of some Third World deference to a First World coach, but rather as a result of his coaching pedigree.  This isn't about local v. foreign as Fazeer speciously tries to make it out to be.  Had that been a Fenwick or even a Porterfield who benched Latas then he would have been roundly criticized.  Beenhakkeer has a proven track record, and he did something almost magical in getting us to Germany.  Foreigner or not that bought him a huge benefit of the doubt.

His opening sentence is also grossly inaccurate... it is clear that Pfister cares about football in this country, to the extent that he wants to win.  No coach of his stature, rep and legacy wants to go into a situation with the goal of losing... so he cares.  He just doesn't care as much as us diehards care and he doesn't share the same long-term interests.

Poor arguments, poor article.

I ent even bothering responding to that shit letter to the Editor.

I agree with Bakes. Respect Fazeer cricket opinions but his football opinions are usually crap. Remember in the campaign leading up to 2006? He said we should quit the qualifying campaign to save ourselves the embarrassment.

Evra was lucky the ref didn't give that penalty... 50-50 challenge fuh me, but Ramires won the ball before the tackle, by the book a penalty.
Yep. Clear penalty if you ask me. Swipe right in front of Ramires without getting ball, impeding a shot.

supporting sri lanka but hadda admire the kiwis. they always seem to make the best of their talents, be disciplined and strategic and are, more often than not, competitive against the bigger teams.

if only west indies would watch and learn...

Well that is it...the capitulation is over.
Pakistan win by 10 wickets...not even a fight from the WI from the get go of this innings.  The look on everybody face was... "oh gosh leh we jes call it a day...give dem de game and leh go home nah"

Serious questions will be asked of the Board and the Selectors on deciding who will captain the team when they come back.  I wonder if they argument about Ganga unable to make the team will still hold water now ?

what a disappointment. hopefully we can go back to selecting a proper captain, leadership circle and the right batsmen for the team.

it pains me to see trinidad looking so professional and prepared with good leadership in regional games (even if we don't always come out on top) and west indies looking quite the opposite.

The only man who always used to walk was Lara.

And the only person from Australia's team to ever wak was Gilchrist and he was lambasted for doing so by his "team mates".

Gilchrist jump on the walking bandwagon later in he career. Mustbe had an epiphany

The decisions of Ricky Ponting not to "walk" after being wrongfully given not out and Tendulkar to "walk" in a similar situation against Rampaul in this World Cup has sparked up the "walking-not walking" debate yet again.

http://mg.co.za/article/2011-03-21-tendulkar-ponting-polarise-opinion-on-walking

I'd like to pose to my fellow forumites the question of whether they would like to see batsmen walk or not.

In addition, I've been hearing from a lot of my Indian friends that Tendulkar has always walked on every occasion , which conflicts with my recollection. I don't remember any specific incidents and may be off-base with my recollection. I do remember clearly Lara walking on every possible occasion.

Forumites how do you remember it?

unbelievable what an idiotic shot roach played. just unbelievable.

swann gets sarwan out and roach walks in saying "pshhhh... i can slog this guy over longoff. i am the number 10 batsman of the great west indies team after all. it would be totally unwise to play 2 defensive shots in a row."

imo, first step for them would be to get their actions verified - go to whatever facility they do the testing at and get a report on their degree of straightening and for which deliveries etc.

then if they need to they can go to the facility to correct/tweak their action.

Ohhh ok. Makes sense. Cooper definitely looks real suspeck.

Narine looks like he's hyper-extending in his action to me - similar to Murali. Hyper-extension makes it look worse than normal but it's legal once it is within the allowed 15 degrees. I think he very well may be within the allowable limit.

Let's see how the Trinidad cricket board handles this.

No Kelly or Sunil Narine? I haven't followed the domestic Trini circuit too closely but any reason for their exclusion?

I think one of our problems in 4 day cricket is we don't have consistent strike bowlers - Kelly was at times so I'm surprised to see Imran Khan and Sherwin picked ahead of him who IMO are better suited for ODI/T20 cricket.

Also anyone know the latest on Tishan Maharaj? I heard he was back in the pitcure recently?
