we have to remember federer looking vulnerable is him losing a set. all other players lose entire matches when they are vulnerable. federer is in a class of his own. when he wins the french his greatness will be confirmed

Yeah touches well said. dont worry with them people who does only talk and talk without examining what really going and the stats.
and by run with the big boys i mean always give the big teams a run--never lose by more than one or in some cases 2. as far as stats go the US deserve top 10. people does only talk about individual talent in countries but dont stop to realise that all that matters is how the TEAM plays. and the US team is a coherent unit who gets the job done and even when they lose never get embarassed.

10 games is not really that short term and that's over 5 years..obviously the US is now getting better..they not a traditonal powerhouse..did i say that??? and read my post before and u will see i said recently..5 years is a damn long time for football rankings..those have to factor heavily in the rankings..if u wanna make a ranking system that factors in more than 5 years go ahead breds 8)

Cricket Anyone / Ganga for West Indies Number 3 batsman?
« on: January 21, 2006, 08:42:38 PM »
I wanna gauge allyuh opinion on this one. I think Ganga should bat at number 3 for the west indies. i say we give devon smith some more chances opening with gayle coz devon smith is a run machine at regional level and the boy got talent. Sarwan messing around at number playing some crazy arse shots--I say we put sarwan at 5 or even 4 (since he is going to be the next number 4 west indies batsman when Lara leave). Ganga have the right temparent for a number 3 much like dravid except obviously ganga cannot compare to dravid's skill yet. He is batting at 3 for trinidad and doing a fine job. when early wickets are down he can set down and anchor the innings. When he has a platform he can feel free to play some shots. We badly need someone in west indies to anchor we top order and sarwan not cutting it there.
Ganga has his 2 test centuriesat the number 3 position and we should therefore realise that he is not a specialist opener necessarily but a text book number 3.

Real ignorance goin on here. How de ass we could call the US a shit side and big up mexico all the damn time? US giving them good licks regular since the US beat mexico in the world cup. It have no damn reason mexico could be in the top 10 and not the US. allyuh only talking who is the star and who is the star when we ent realize they still beating good sides and only losing slimly to big sides. As for we beating the US, i want it to happen bad and it could. But we ent beat them years now..last time was in a fete match to commemorate 1989. When we start beating them then we could talk. For now fellas, talk allyuh crap...the US is still a big side in world football right now and yeah they have a damn hard group in germany but no doubt they is a big side. and by big side i mean they could run with the traditional big boys--and in the case of mexico cut dey arse

i dont see why man jumpin on stephen ames case so. de man have he living there, he wife and children there. he is a professional and he made his decision as a professional and a family man. it is clearly his choice and we dont need to be hatin him for it. he did a lot for this country already by just putting we name out there on the golfing scene and look how he helpin out fellow trinis. so doh come cussin him out. we does sit here and talk about sportsmen making decisions and expect everything from them when we hadda remember that it is their job and their lives man..come on be real

Cricket Anyone / Re: Ganga has proved hes a better captain than Hinds
« on: January 13, 2006, 10:04:27 PM »
I think that if the West Indies pick Ganga right now he will give them the runs. The man is in the best form of his life and I see this man batting long time now and I have never seen him so confident at the crease. He has improved many aspects of his game such as his running between the wickets, his freeness to play shots and his concentration. Captaincy has only made him better. And what is often overlooked is that Darren is a very good fielder; one of the most underrated but one of the best in the Caribbean - he has very safe hands and could actually slide and dive and gives a good effort everytime on the field.

2006 World Cup - Germany / German tourist visa
« on: January 03, 2006, 08:07:37 AM »
Has anyone already gotten their German tourist visa for the world cup? I looked on the website and they seem to want some solid plans in terms of bookings before they issue the visa. Is this so? And also can a trini citizen only get the visa in the German embassy in Trinidad or is there one in NY or something in the US that cann issue this visa for trini citizens?

I find Ganga should be given another chance..and yes the man get chances but he improving but dey only giving him one test evry blue man and expect miracles when the rest of the side crumbling. Ganga will bring the solidity we need at the top of the order. Wavell Hinds should never be picked before Ganga. I could understand Devon Smith because Devon Smith tired score runs regionally and he has some good scores internationally. Wavell Hinds is always a hit-and-miss and we have too many ah dem in windies cricket. My vote: Bring back Ganga and give him 2 or 3 tests. 3 tests sounding like a lot but Sarwan does only score runs every 3 tests so say what. Ganga will score a hundred in one of those 3 tests I betting yuh.

First of all I wanna say Arena DAMN disrepectful and outa place to make them comments. We and Australia are not the lowest ranked team in the world cup so he pulling ting outa he ass. And yes statistically we have a weak side when we look at the 32 but is not he place to throw egg on we face like that and I vex no ass he do that.

However, Touches is right. The US is a big side and they have improved to be the powerhouse in the region. They consistently getting the better of Mexico recently and yes they does play boring ass ball most ah the times but yuh hadda hand it to them that dey does hold they own. They maybe not top 10 in the world but they could definitely hold they own with most. So ppl need to stop shitting on them and sayin dey is mess and doing like dem is more mess than we coz ppl they are not. Dey is a big side now and we hadda live with it. Saying all this they might flop in this WC but we hadda still respect them as a big side even if their coach is undiplomatic.

I think it depends on how much playing time he get at Falkirk from now till the WC. If he cant handle 90 minutes consistently there then he wouldnt be able to handle 90 minutes in the WC. However, if Latapy gets a lot of full games at Falkirk from now till then, then I feel Latas must start in the world cup. Yes we have people like Whitley and dem coming up in the ranks but only Latas has and continues to hold his own in a mdifield against the best in the world. Latas is still we only world class midfielder tired and true and we needed him in qualifying and unless he really not fit enough to run ball for 90 mins, we need him to assert himself in the WC.
Right now Latas still pencil in to start for me in we opening game.

I was reading up on the Rangers Falkirk game where Latapy and Marvin Andrews played in and ended 2-2. I found 2 articles which named Russell as player of the game:

I think we should appreciate the gesture that the US is making. US football make it this far just on the basis of planning and good organization. They build up their football since '89 and look how far they now..nobody could say that the US is a laughing stock anymore. We have we could learn from them and we should be grateful for their assistance
