Holy Firetruck batman - whose brilliant idea was this!' Slaughter- lambs to the wolves.

That would be like us taking on Bangladesh !!!!! Which may prove a challenge too

Start with some low challenging games and lead up to more difficult games as you adjust and make changes- On the other hand this is idea for the USA to take on an understaffed, youthful,  inexperienced out of game shape-squad.

The. Again all this bs is what we paying ah coach 20k USA a month for? We might have well kept Bertille St Claire or Anton Corneal- at least we know expectations of success will beat best minimal.
Well at least I lived to  enjoy 2006!

It will be tight, but Guyana should have enough to scrape a victory - TnT national team leans heavily on domestic and lower-league European , USA, and India England, the latter of which are at least playing but have had a lot of disruption.

Not much difference- Use to be a time TnT drove fear in the opposition and one could have some conviction when facing teams like Guyana- check the recent records against Guyana it is not  overwhelmingly convincing-

As of today Anguilla led by " Burris" aks Stern JOHN may kick we arse. 20K USA per month will not ensure miraculous transformation input approach- team selection - and  competitive preparation.
Let's not put this  all on the TTFA debacle- let's look at what's been done locally to build fromthe inside out rather than to drink ah rum run some pansy sessions and then wait on foreign based players and hope for success- Stop rhe bs.

Had justice been served swiftly and all dem insurrectionist  faced a firing squad today we may  have had a respectful  democracy where leaders are civil to each other wheretne citizens well being is at the forefront rather than personal gains from the treasury- where there is more talk of unity  rather than attempts at being divisive and working to destabilize a country. We would have a nation without racial divisions - one far less rotting from the stench of drugs and the infestation of gangs and wanton killing.

When people get away with an attack on public office and with lawlessness and are constantly being  shielded by  lawyers bent on finding " loop holes"  and challenging democratic laws we see the results where those fighting to uphold the laws are Ina losing battle.

The deterrent to breaking the laws  are non existent when actions go unpunished - Call it barbarous  - rely on amnesty but until we have firing squads we will have more guns pointed upon more victims .

Fair enough, your sentiment is understood regarding everything but that highlighted in bold. The racial division charge is a hefty weight to place on 1990.

Modified - it was not meant to be analogous with 1990 but a continuance of the thought of  resulting  occurrences as a result of what transpired without impunity

Today I want to take this time to applaud the efforts of our COP in tackling the crime situation in TnT- especially the war on gangs and drugs. Initially when he began his tenure bringing a military style approach there were objections and push back- police killings were criticized- Well folks I invite you to view the similar approach in the slums of Rio and Cape Town- similar to some neighbourhoods which exist in Trinidad.

Brazil adapted a two level structure of policing:  civil police officers and  military police who are focused on the favellas - when all yuh look at the you tube- check out the female  leading this up- lawd hot hot.

Palestine has established a similar approach

India- very progressive- has created an all female police station dealing with many domestic cases against women .

People time to step forward and applaud all the efforts our COP had being bringing to clean up TnT
Check these out

I suggest we send officers to these locations  to learn and see how these situations are dealt with in places like Brazil and Cape Town- Having British and Scotland Yard type training in culturally removed from our context- Jamaica tried brining in. A Ul top to run things - minimum success - we tried with two Canadians - nah - culturall differences stymied what they tried to impose - leh we take ah good look at the efforts in Rio and CapeTown - even India is impressive.

We have 12 players in the uk now ..according to fenwick .... and 13 in the USA.....I am waiting to see who there guys are ....

Talk talk - eligibility is one thing but are these so called identifiable foreign born players better or above the standards that a local player fighting to represent his country?

Foreigni bornshould not be a criteria for an automatic pass to the national team. The rigorous and process of selection should be in place for all players looking to represent TnT

Curious as to how they are scouted?
Do we have a video analysts team in place to compile games and clips of players that are sent to the coaches?

I know we had some scouts assisting the assoc. -- possibly pro bono --- before the NC situation.

Do the coaches here get their first look at these players when they reach in camp? or have they viewed their game footage prior to this?

One can only wonder if there is a logician system in place to scout analyse and evaluate potential players- I am not even sure we do that in depth analysis locally given our alleged lack of resources.
Far more on foreign soil. You know the Trini way- " ah have ah friend whose sone playing  so and so " give him ah look nah" meh uncle  son playing here  look nah ah know ah fella whose grandmother was from TnT check he out nah he playing real ball"

I think we still in that mind set- when it comes to the technical player evaluation, sadly lacking. All this despite the funds from FIFA for player and program development- nah we want to erect Centre for Excellence-  up.d Home of Football as what monuments and legacies to reigning presidents or for personal gains. Tell me if we could not refurbish Halsey Crawford Stadium and put money into programming proper player development and evaluation of talent to feed into our national teams. Too much ole talk inhow we conduct the business of football.

With all due respect for those tried and true Warriors coach of the past and to the adage of regardlessof gender we  need to select the ' right' person for the job - this line of thinking have been employed  in our men's program . We have recycled coaches - many have been assistants - many have thought that
we had the right person as head coach and yet our success has been marginal. Mind you- it's not all coaching given our limited player pool.

By comparison - how is it that Jamaica able to have relatively more competitive teams in : football - men and women -  netball and athletics?

A country like Haiti with an unflattering economy is able to field far more competitive teams in football - how so?

In my opinion it is time to change the paradigm of recycling coaches- many of whom were assistants under competent head coaches yet when given the opportunity have failed-Anton Corneal was there working with Beehakker served as a FIFA technical  coach in the region yet  he too was unsuccessful in a stint as a head coach.

In my opinion one of the potentially better candidate took up the position in Anguilla with the women's team program-

Some say the best person for the job- no one would argue that should be the norm - I don't think anyone takes that position with the intent to do a bad job or to fail. However, I think with the women's program we ought to  ensure that there are competent female coaches who can work with these ladies.

Imagine if there was an outstanding successful female coach kicking around would she ever be considered as a candidate to  coach the senior men's team?

I leave you with that thought.

Wait ah -   It come to this stage dat coaching TnT women's team is not luring to any qualified coaches out there?

How is if that one of our female coaches and former player could find employment inAnguilla yet not in her native land? - TTFA politics

Why should it be a given that we recycle some of the male coaches from the heap of left overs? - TTFA politics

What would it look like if a woman was appointed to coach the men's national team? - upheaval - then why should we  by default be considering some of the male coaches who have failed after taking on the job as a last minute desperate no frills no money left over attempt to salvage the team?- TTFA politics

Is there not a qualified female coach who could come in here with program planning like the former Italian coach once had for TnT? What is preventing this type of qualified candidates?  - TTFA politics
Looks like the fault dear Brutus likes not in the stars  but in we damn own internal governance of football.

The storming  of the Red House in,any ways was a defining moment - in my opinion when those leaders of  the attempted coupe were allowed to walk freely , then given government land to build compounds and grow their illegal activities that gave way to where we are today- a nation infested with gang warfare corruption and lawlessness among elements in society-
Had everyone of those insurrectionists who participated in that coup faced a firing squad, the messaging and ensuing state we are in may have been different today.

The events in Washington also points to how vulnerable and susceptible our government are to ill intended individuals- in the name of democracy!   Again if consequences are not taken- thi kabout the messaging that is will be conveyed to the criminal element-

Storming of the  Red House ;storming of the White House ; storming of the Bastille- who  craves power?

See you in 2026!

This is not a rocket science revelation- unless we restructure our approach to team selection,  create a local competitive structure leading up to identification of talent, instill a competitive process for foreign based players to earn and demonstrate justifiable reason to be on the team and not just a given that they could be a walk on.

Need to be a revamp -  national zonal programs and refocus them as developmental programs that could feed into a national team Not as some regional league beneath the pro league-

Put a structured program in place that all lead up to national program. Have regional/ zonal national competitions- North south east west Tobago combine teams in competitive playoffs.
WC -qualifications is a process not having local sessions with some players and then wait for availability of foreign players then have a hastily put together camp and go for it!!!!

This is not a sustainable system  for ongoing  success to WC qualification with the limited talent pool we have.

Well well well- white power in action- ironically with a mantra with black origin- " by any means necessary"

Internal terrorism- imagine if that was a black mob? Imagine if that  were Muslims? Imagine if this was a mob  of immigrants?
Lawd this action exposed so many things wrong with USA- the inequalities  the utter disgrace for democracy -

Nice nice a leader who called for this action- a real leader could have stood up on the steps and tell supporters this is not the way but he still on about a fraudulent election- he must be drinking Grey Goose.
Coming to think of it we had someone here inTnT also trying to incite demonstration with allegations about the election-
Yuh know how TnT like to " follow fashion"  - guard we Red House - funny when dat happen in USA - the self rigitious start to claim the actions are something that only happens in " banana republics" well take that
This is the result when idiots vote for inept divisive leadership- we had one right here who only weeks ago
Inciting followers to " take them out" referring to the government- these rhetoric from leaders should not be acceptable and should be grounds for inciting hatered and violence yet we have idiots still  voting to keep them in power.
This is not what we need from a nation who upholds the standard of highest democracy!!! Shocking- Who is the biggest banana in this republic?

Fenwick's men face Regional team in friendly.
By Walter Alibey (T&T Guardian).

T&T's senior national football team will play its first practice match of the year against a regional association team on Thursday at the St James Barracks, Long Circular Road, St James.

The game will be the first of a few being organised by national coach Terry Fenwick ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in March. With March 25th already set for the team's opening encounter with regional rivals Guyana, Fenwick has also been attempting to secure a camp in Florida, in the Unoted States soon, as well as other friendly matches against Dominica, Grenada, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

At a training session at the Long Circular Road facility on Wednesday, Fenwick made it clear he will not be making any player comfortable in his set-up, despite it not having any form of football taking place in the country at this point in time.

It has been Fenwick's major point of concern, which has forced him to identify some 25 players abroad, who will make up the core of his team at the qualifiers.

He told Guardian Media Sports on Wednesday that, "We have done work throughout 2020, we have now identified 25 players overseas, 12 from the UK and we've got another 13 in the United States that are excellent players that are playing in good Leagues, they are involved in competitive games on a regular basis. These will be the guys I will have to tap in to for the World Cup Qualifiers because they are playing competitive football."

The early start to Fenwick's preparation has been focused on work done last year or on more recapping of work done in 2020. Still, the Englishman who has had a successful record at T&T Pro League outfits San Juan Jabloteh and Central FC, is anything but a happy man, saying he needs the FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee to step up the pace and work quicker, to get their programme in train.

Currently, the national team training has been the only form of football for the players in his squad, but to help these players Fenwick has been reaching out to our regional neighbours for help.

He said, "We have got no football on the ground in Trinidad and Tobago as we speak and there is no sign of it until after March. So these guys, the local guys on the ground in Trinidad and Tobago, not playing any competitive football unless they are in the national set-up with me. We are doing regional games, I am asking people from the different regions who I trust and who I recognize if they would bring out their best youngsters between 16 and 21 to play against us."
S bs bs bs

We paying ah man 20us ah month to have  sessions with players who have little or no chance to make the team?  Why not take ah roti drink ah rum and  wait for foreign players to come play? If that is the rational moving forward that they have been playing competitive ball over the local players.
Why not create a competitive  system in TnT and create regional tournaments - ah frig I said all this before
Eheh ah coming just like TTFA doing the same thing year in year out and expecting different results
Allyuh real good we - 20 k to be sold a bag of stones?!!!

Fenwick targets Florida camp ahead of WC qualifiers.
By Jelani Beckles (T&T Newsday).

A CAMP in Florida is being planned by Terry Fenwick to give the T&T men’s senior national head coach the opportunity to have a closer look at the US-based T&T players and allow those players to gel with the local-based players.

The countdown is on for the national footballers as the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers are less than three months away.

T&T will start its World Cup qualifying campaign on March 25 against Guyana in Group F.

The group also features Puerto Rico, Bahamas and St Kitts and Nevis.

T&T are currently the highest-ranked team in the group at 105th in the world. St Kitts and Nevis are ranked 139th, Guyana 166th, Puerto Rico 178th and Bahamas 195th.

T&T have been short of preparation leading into the qualifiers as in 2020 the national team did not play any competitive matches because of covid19 and the grappling between FIFA and the United TT Football Association (TTFA). The dispute led to FIFA banning TTFA for two months from September to November. Club football was also at a standstill in T&T during 2020 which kept the players inactive.

“I am hoping to put a camp together in Miami…whereby we can bring in all of the North American players that are available for us for World Cup (qualifiers),” Fenwick told Newsday during a national team training session at the St James Police Barracks, on Sunday.

Fenwick said the camp will help the US-based players and local-based players form a cohesive unit. “We can bring them in. We could bring the best kids that we got available on the ground in T&T, so we merge them together. That will be the start of me putting my squad together for World Cup (qualifiers).”

The camp is expected to last between ten days and two weeks before the qualifiers begin.

Fenwick said most of his squad for the upcoming matches will be foreign-based players because they are match fit.

“There is no doubt that most of my squad, if not all, will be from US, UK generally. Players that are playing in leagues that are competing (and) that are match fit. We have identified a host of new players that when they hit the ground here in Trinidad it will be a shock to most, but I rather leave that until they’re here so we don’t disappoint.”

Fenwick said he will not be able to travel to England to meet T&T footballers based there because the country is under a covid19 lockdown.

“That might be difficult, but I have already identified as many as eight or nine players that I have identified in the UK that are playing at a very good level.”

Fenwick said the UK-based players should be available for the World Cup qualifiers because those matches are played in a FIFA window which allows the players to leave their respective clubs to represent their country.

After Fenwick sees the UK-based players in person he will have to make a quick decision to determine what players fit the team goal.

“When we get them for the World Cup playoff games that will be in FIFA windows so that will be for a week, ten days maximum.

“They are coming in and the first time I see them will be right before the World Cup qualifiers, so I then got to make quick and decisive decisions on my team.”
So what's new? The same formula of that is been going on for centuries in our national team selection. Put together a " jokey local squad" hold training sessions knowing full well that this is just a transitional team to demonstrate  that a coach I'd doing work and in this case getting 20k us a month! Then wait and hastily bring in the foreign star boys to bolster the rooster!!!
There is not intent to create a solid local competitive culture that would make earning a spot on the team a level of accomplishment.
How did the present squad earn a tryout? What was the criteria? I suggested before that we employ:
A zonal competition- North South East West Tobago-tournament format- select a local squad following this playoff- take that squad to  UK /USA to play those identified as potential players that could represent TnT-
Then pick a national team to play any aganist - Anguilla, India, Venezuela, and any others who are looking to beat we up.
This old formula of just bringing inforeign base players knowing they have secured a position on the team has not been working over a sustainable time for TnT.
Our national team selection needs a new model of creating a competitive climate and establishing a route to success that would be in brained throughout the process- playerswould be acclimitiazing to the process of qualifing for a position locally- getting use to travelling to play foreign players vying for a position prior to playing against other countries. This is incentive laden from the get go. There are current players going through the motions knowing that as soon as the foreign based player is available their position or chance of making the final cut is nonexistent - likewise there are foreign based players who know they can waltz in and be guaranteed a spot on the team.
This  process is missing in terms of player development, competitive nurturing, team dynamics and a transparent fair opportunity of selecting the most formidable team. Talent alone will not cut it!!!

There are the intangibles for a local player  wanting to make that team  so asto procure possible future contracts- foreign players to establish leverage with foreign based clubs- an opportunity it's to be on the biggest stage.

Presently the system in place is deficient and that deficiency will be a deficit and deterrent as the competition intensifies - thenthe sameo.d rants would be played out about coaching and players - without use et giving a thought to the system we have in place from selection of players to coaches.
How possible is it during COVID to travel to US knowing you have to quarantine - set up a camp bring in players from other states and conduct sessions? What testing are available for players? How will the safety of players be ensured? There are some logistics here that given the current situation appears to be missing.

Would it be more feasible to establish a safe secured environment in Trinidad or Tobago invite foreign based players to a try out camp select potential players and then have a mini tournament?

All the way you are building a competitive climate and providing opportunities for development. It is not a given that the starting spots guaranteed are - if you are local and a goalie ( this is short sighted - thinking that technically this position is the least of consideration) secondly if you are a foreign based " star boy" no sweat we holding that position and begging for your services.
Time to stop this madness  _ Time to earn your selection- earn your place - the same way for us to get another shot at WCis that we have to earn that spot. Create this thinking - time to transform the way we are currently operating. It's insane to be doing the same thing over and over and expect different results.

Stern gave an interview with The Athletic here;

Fancy playing for Anguilla? Stern John needs you.
By Gregg Evans

A wonderfully-worded answer rolls off the tongue of Stern John as he tackles the testing early question about his new job as manager of Anguilla.

Why would you want to manage one of the worst teams in the world with a FIFA ranking of 209 out of 210?

“Because I started at the bottom as a player and made it into the Premier League and I want to do the same as a coach.”

It would be easy to assume that a sweet-sounding reply as good as the one John delivered had been manufactured over time. But this is the 44-year-old’s first interview since moving to the tiny Caribbean island to take over the national team, and any doubts over his commitment were extinguished quickly.

Pleasantries had barely been exchanged before his work phone started ringing. On the opposite end was a staff member keen to know more about the training schedules for the week ahead. Another call, this time from the kit man, quickly followed, and it wasn’t long...

This scenario plays out on any given day, on any location on the planet, on which people's expectations of how they should live coincide with any floating vessel and a body of water on the other side of a river bank or sea shore that gives them HOPE.

And there's the hope that 40 human beings getting into a vessel designed for fewer than 10 human beings won't sink.

When Trinidad and Tobago totally absorbs the no-brainer decisions that accompany not living with hope, maybe the statements made in public office will be tweaked ... especially by those with ambitions to become Prime Minister.

So are You blaming Rowley and Young ?

Not "blaming", but I think the junior partner's stewardship of the matter will attach to the legacy of the senior partner. On the face of it, one of the partners has a longer political future than the other. As such, the legacy will survive its scars, but the stewardship has a longer shelf life for scrutiny. Unless the approach preferred is to treat with the matter as the Hungarians do.

Well If Young has aspiration to remain in politics and as you suggesting has ambition to be PM, he should think about resolving the present situation. Not thinking that if I do this or that, it will hurt my political future. What I would like to see done is that they secure the southern  western borders. I think we should help the Ven. but we definitely need to work on issue in TT, especially east of the dry to lady young road.

This is a powder keg that could explode again. I see local Trinis being ruthless. They complaining about all the Ven. coming in. But there is an entity who welcomes there prescence. Cheap labours. The locals who would hold out for a higher wages are in for a rude awaking.  And then the opportunity to use vulnerable women for the sex business.  There are Trinis who are knowingly breaking the laws to make money of the current situation. Taxi drivers rendez-vous in spots where illegals come and transport them to "safe" house. Not to forget the illegal guns and heavy drugs that are comin in with these activities.

The real tragedy is that the international community has not taken a stronger stance aganice alleged  I'll treatment by the Venezuela government against its citizens. This mass exodus  of displaced and those fleeing from alleged horrid conditions is a human tragedy.

Unlike many Trinidad and Tobago residents who migrated to Venezuela to find jobs- or many island brethren who migrated to our shores for a better life.

One of the issues is our economy and infrastructure is not in place to handle the mass exodus arriving on our shores - especially during the COVID crisis.

Where is the UNrole in this? How can the UN mobilize NGO's to provide mobile camps, mobile health facilities and establish a refugeee facility to help process and stabilize the processing?

The government under these circumstances is not the be all and end all.

I think the UN and the US are willing to assist or are assisting. But Rowley and Young do not want to be dictated by the conditions of getting relief money. They don't want that influx to be so huge that it become unmanageable,  and when is time for them to return, they don't want to. TT right now is between a rock and a hard place.

It is erroneous to make assertions without facts - to identify two individuals as barriers or hindering in this crisis is wanton scapegoating . What is occurring  at such a volume and in masses is beyond our  country's capacity  to cope -
This issue is an international issues and it begs the question where is the UN in enacting their mission insituations like this.

I was an advocate for playing Ven. for years. But not in this current crisis in Ven.

I'd argue in favour - a home game in T&T would attract a crowd!
Yes but it might attract plenty POLICE too  ;D

I mean if they pay entrance too, all the merrier!

Eh eh  wait hold on - this could be ah win win for the TTFA - National team and minister of National Security  and COP-

Set up a game against Venezuela -
1-  Normalization committee - TTFA - doing something positive
2- National team playing. A legitimate contender- not a pick up fete match against youths

3-  National security and COP - once match start and game going down - all entrances blocked - check for illegals- and gang affiliates-
Fast ferry waiting to transport back to Venezuela

Then we set up same  tactic against Guyana and so forth

If these allegations are correct then  the actions are consistent/ " Normal" for anyone entrusted with running the TTFA.
Poor AC he get he nose twisted as he was probably always part of the in crowd but now probably feeling shut out.
Just add this to the o going bacchanalia of how competency is measured withTTFA governance. Maybe the allegations of payments was to another person with the same name but different person.

Mixed response as Fenwick praises T&T’s unbeaten run against makeshift local teams.
By Lasana Liburd (Wired868).

Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Senior Team head coach Terry Fenwick came in for congratulations from some supporters but raised eyebrows among the local football fraternity, after pointing to results in lopsided exhibition matches as signs of progress by his squad.

The Soca Warriors are yet to play their first international friendly under the Englishman and it is uncertain whether he will have a proper warm-up match before their opening Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier against Guyana on 25 March.

Undeterred, Fenwick still found reason to be cheerful about the form of his local-based training squad in a social media post last Wednesday. He informed fans that his players are on a four match winning streak with 33 goals scored, none conceded, and only four shots permitted on their own goal.

(A source close to the team said the correct figure was 32 goals, and an additional goal was tabulated in error.)

So who have his Warriors faced? Fenwick did not give details but Wired868 can confirm practice games against Pro League club AC Port of Spain and the Trendsetter Hawks Academy, as well as makeshift ‘combined’ teams from the central and east zones.

None of the zonal teams were organised by their respective zonal bodies. Instead, Crowne Trace and Chaguanas East Secondary coach Nicholas Griffith was asked to pick players from the central zone while Fenwick’s assistant, Adrian Romain, helped put together an eastern XI.

Fenwick allegedly asked all his opponents to use players aged between 16-21 so he could ‘see what young talented players there are’, and the northern team even fielded 14-year-old QRC schoolboy, Aydon Caruth.

It was a restriction Fenwick did not apply to his own squad, which featured several older players including Police FC goalkeeper Adrian Foncette and Defence Force playmaker Hashim Arcia, who are both 32.

Notably, while the Warriors train three or four times a week, they came up against teams that are unable to practice at all due to Covid-19 regulations.

It was odd then to see Fenwick reference the results as a yardstick to gauge his progress as national coach—particularly as he offered withering condemnation of his predecessor, Dennis Lawrence, for arranging a friendly against international minnows Anguilla, who they mauled 15-0 last year.

“I didn’t see the point of playing against kids,” said one coach, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “It’s not as if they can ask our opponents in the World Cup qualifiers to only play youngsters.”

The Warriors recorded their four wins as:

T&T 8 (Hashim Arcia [2], Shackiel Henry, Sean Bonval, Matthew Woo Ling, Justin Garcia, Brent Sam, Molik Khan), AC POS 0;

T&T 8 (Shackiel Henry [2], Sean Bonval [2], Judah Garcia, Jabari Mitchell, Brent Sam, Nathaniel James), Trendsetter Hawks Academy 0;

T&T 10 (Brent Sam [2], Rashad Hyacenth [2], Sean Bonval, Nathaniel James, Shackiel Henry, Tyrese Spicer, Jabari Mitchell, Mikhail McComie), Central XI 0;

T&T 6 (Shackiel Henry [2], Brent Sam [2], Sean Bonval, Molik Khan), Eastern XI 0.

Ironically, just nine from the 32 goals scored by Fenwick’s Warriors were converted by players who are 23 years old or younger—with teenagers Khan, Spicer and James, as well as the slightly older trio of Garcia, McComie and Mitchell taking the honours.

Fenwick did not respond to a query from Wired868 regarding why he limited his opponents’ player pool, and the value he saw in the results. However, a source close to the national set-up sought to explain what the former England World Cup defender had in mind.

“Playing guys in their late 20s and early 30s serves little purpose because they will not be fit and fast enough to keep pace with Terry’s squad,” said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “So what Terry was doing was trying to make sure the other teams were able to give him a good game. Added to which most teams abroad are looking for younger players; so Terry is thinking ahead and looking to build younger players so they can be ready for international football.

“What value is it for a national coach to play against old players? The vast majority of his squad now are under-25 with a handful over that, which is what it should be.

“Before, under previous coaches, the national team had it the other way around.”

Off the field, Fenwick and his coaching staff are believed to be still awaiting their first pay cheque—almost a year since being appointed by the William Wallace-led administration.

Fifa-appointed normalisation committee chairman Robert Hadad promised to look into remuneration for national coaches since April. However, thus far, only technical director Dion La Foucade and director of football Richard Piper received any salary, along with office staff. And, even then, it was for one month’s work.

The going rate for normalisation committee members is US$6,500 per month for the chairman and US$4,000 for other members. Hadad is assisted by vice-chair Judy Daniel and ordinary member Nigel Romano and all three have been paid by Fifa.

The Warriors are drawn in Group F of a preliminary Concacaf bracket, alongside St Kitts and Nevis, Guyana, Puerto Rico, Bahamas. Only the winner will advance to the next phase of competition.

Concacaf 2022 World Cup qualifiers
(Group F)

Trinidad and Tobago v Guyana, 25 March,

Puerto Rico v Trinidad and Tobago, 28 March

Bahamas v Trinidad and Tobago, 5 June

Trinidad and Tobago v St Kitts and Nevis, 8 June.
These are the kind of  fete matches and  pick up games wins you get for 20K US  per month?  Yuh have Venezuela next door? You have Grenada? Better yet call up Stern and rake on Anguilla? Call Latas and play Barbados?

This kind of false positives is just that- you could only fool some of the people some of the time- yuh want to assess talent?
TnT selects - I eh see this squad as a NATIONAL team  - in a series of matches against sele t squads from-
South
North
East
West
Tobago
TnT -Foreign based players coached by Hart and Lawerence

Set a series of these games up in January/ Feb- pick up and reshuffle players based on current performance throughout- games to serve as identification of potential talent and tryouts for - keep men on a competitive edge - hungry to make team.
Instead of the bs  games against  some inept talent. Why is it so difficult to put some serious legitimate  logistical plan in place  to create a successful bonafide competitive Team ?
Then select your National team-

Ps - to legitimize any of those games - we need D Touches match report😊😊😊

The fight starts back from the origin- time for all aspiring players to look and learn
Allyuh push the reset button and develop some pride mentall toughness
This is one area where ah hope current coach TF could instill in players or else pelt some wake up clout buff dem up and infuse some frigging sense in men that to be a professional and to play at a certain level requires daily discipline and work

In TnT we know how to spin ah yarn- the amount of bacchanal that does blow up and die down quietly is amazing- this is another one. This too shall pass like so many others:
Former Minister of Sports - AR and all the allegations- what became of that?
Former attorney General Ramlogan- what became of that?
Former Special advisor to TTFA- what became of that?

You see what happening-? Now months later all coolcalm and collected with control  the story unfolds of  layovers in Panama- wait you go tell me it have no direct flights from Jamaica to Trinidad? Flight have to layover in Panama?  Ha ha ha
It so happen to have another person in Panama with the same name?

Yuh don't think that when this news broke that an innocent man would openly declare his innocence and relate these same statements declaring his position?

Oh yes- this is sweet TnT  we like it so

That's the biggest difference between him and many others versus Dwight, Russell etc....anytime your discomfort with growth gets the better of you, you stop growing

I think in my opinion this is what plagues our national players- it's not the potential skill level but morethe drive the professional mental toughness along with the physicality,

As much as I hate to compare within the region and hate to admit, Jamaican athletes eludes that toughness that national pride the physicality and drive. The Haitians . The Cubans- our players are too soft.

There were intercollegiate days in the70's where you playing for the crowd- dribbling - beatsin up on men- putting on the show but our footballers once they had North South there was a pride a drive for supremacy - back then when you made the national team is like players fighting to represent this little island - today players seem to be lured to the contracts and is like once they make it- the national team has to come begging for them to represent - this attitude will not bode well for professional teams - when you are a marginal player you are despincible- there are many others waiting in the wings-
Players from our soil need to be fighting and proving each game that they belong-
Oh well there is always the Indian league- Good taste of humble pie to get you  longing  for steak.

Up till this day- even though we have a coach in place some people still talking about the merits of how that coach was selected?

does anyone know if there was a selection committee and what the criteria was/ is for that said position?

What was the criteria for deciding on a base salary?
Was the awarded salary based on - experience?  Previous coaching success?

What is the comparative salary among coaches in the region?
How much is the Jamaican national coach paid?

Could we have some sense and  sensibility when it comes to decision making from the TTFA?

At the end of the day..,,,,, just get the team to win:  Caribbean Cup ; Gold Cup ... get to World Cup- win ah game or two-
Doh lose to Jamaica - Anguilla- Barbados. Or Guyana - or anyplace where ah Trini coaching cause then talk go start that he should be the next head coach 😊😊😊😊😊😊

2) Our players have improved on their passing and trapping.

Sad to see that at this level that is one of the noticeable highpoints. One would think that a coach would want technically sound players.......

It eh have much talent around ! See what the coach has to work with ? Is ah big ting when a national player could collect and pass !!! You getting it from a man who does go to all de games ( touches ) ...it eh easy dis roungs sah !
I know somebody go start to point fingers at local coaches soon enough but dat is for another discussion.

We keep talking about local coaches but then yuh have men like Terry Fenwick......foreigner but locally based..... what he eh skilled enough to be developing world class players ?

This is ah coach if he had any ambitions to be coaching our national team, should be producing such quality players and a quality team yearly, that the powers to be would not have to go looking outside for a coach of the national team. So given his familiarity with the local players (league), and the vibes of the nation, why has he never been seriously considered for the post of national coach? Just asking because I eh know.

just saying........
