Cricket Anyone / old timers show the way to REAL cricket
« on: November 28, 2009, 05:19:37 PM »
hey guys, there is a competition going on in Jamaica called the Colbi Cup and the participants are over 35's from all the test playing countries. early this morning (was it last night?) it was Westy Indies led by Viv Richards against Sri Lanka. Real good competition- Ambrose and Walsh bowling and making some good catches S Williams..
plenty big bellies on the field, but man running and hitting sixes and fours and thing...
good to see some real cricket again
 ;D

well I guess it was expected that after that loss all man beating up on the team and the coach and anybody in the passing...some with good cause ;D
however- I want to say that what I saw of Jlloyd was positive- he seems to have a good read of the game;
I did see effort from KJ unlike some of the posters here..maybe not scoring, but have any of you considered that he was recently injured and is playing tentatively because of fear of injury??? remember when Stern was coming off his injury some years ago (2?) I think it is natural to take some time to take risks again, not so?
we must remember in the midst of all our disappointments that OUR warriors are human and even when they do not play well maybe they are in fact playing to their potential?
this is not to excuse poor playing but I in fact cannot play football  :(and at whatever level I admire anyone who can perform a task that I cannot.
let us just hope that the team can improve and can give us cause to cheer in the next 2 games
GO WARRIORS!! ;D

Ponting? break Lara's record? surely u jest? ;D I don't think we're that bad...even the 2nd best team...
I think the board is trying to exert some authority and flex some muscle. the fact is the players made themselves available before the icc games and they still were not considered....the board is playing one-upmanship with wipa and the team is suffering..
what next? :-\

What about Track & Field / Re: Zurich GL 2009( Biggest meet on the circuit)
« on: September 01, 2009, 07:14:45 AM »
I am trying to follow the talk about DB- so the suggestion is that he should retire? is there no other option for him? I wish him all the best and hope he can have someone give him some good advice and support to make the best decision for his future. he has flown our flag and deserves our support

in all of these comments I am not seeing anybody asking why Kerry Baptiste is not on the side???  or is he joining them later? he is the top scorer in our Pro League and we really need the goals...
perhaps we have so  many strikers that we can pick and choose?? if so that's a good thing, isn't it? ;D
seems like the forumites are just like the officials, we like who we like, and pick the team we would like to see play.
nuff said. :) as long as we win, eh?
GO WARRIORS!!

it can and does happen- all you need is the con...
yesterday I was at a lotto booth where a man took off without paying for his ticket...
he held the $20 in his hand and ordered the numbers, and then took the ticket and ran away... that's why all up the islands they call us 'tricky trini'
