we win!!! we win!!! :wavetowel: :wavetowel:
I enjoyed the game especially the first half as it was the first time I saw first hand some of the younger players. I think Abu Bakr had a good game, and #8 -Trent Noel? - decent...I know you guys are more critical than I am but I was seeing the team playing well together and having some good reads of where the others were on the field, it looked like they were playing to the plan- at least in the first half...somehow they lost the script in the second half, tho'
that said- thank GOD for Ince...yes! Man of the Match award :beermug:

Football / Re: Is it the Countdown to our football Amargeddon?
« on: August 12, 2009, 06:03:47 AM »
what??? what's this about 'our football glory'? are we really so shallow that to fail at a football match is armageddon?  ::) meanwhile people are getting shot every day and children are getting abused every day and these depravations are not counted as armageddon for our nation?
hello, enjoy the game and support the players, but let's understand that in all games it's how we play the game- and yes, winning is great, but improving with every game is also great for a young side...

what I don't understand is this- the 2 persons nominated to contest Mr. Hunte declined! how is the board to change if the leader is not changed?? this is so weird.
How come also the TTCB did not try to lobby the other members of the board to have the patterson report implemented. we have had 2 persons sitting on the board since this report, and yet they have not made any changes. is it for lack of trying? or that the other members of the board are not convinced?
why are the meetings of the WICB conducted in secrecy? are they involved in state matters? is there some security involved? what really goes on?
 ???

« on: August 04, 2009, 07:43:26 AM »
okay but if you buy the argument that T&T is a 2-party country, then it follows that the best change must come from within one or both of these parties. The parties are run by a 'council' and have a chairman and political leader. These are usually 2 separate individuals to keep the power limited. The chairman is supposed to lead the council in deciding policies and the political leader is the one to enact them. However, in T&T these lines have become so blurred that the chairman of both parties are numb & dumb, and have actually lost all influence over their political leaders. This was never the intention. In theory that is. In theory all that is needed to replace a political leader is for the parliamentary reps to vote the present one out and a new one in. The fact is that has not happened as yet, except when Panday was suspended from the house and they voted Kamla as PL. That was the opposition. The PNM can do the same to PM but do they have the cojones? who knows?
at the end of the day once you vote for a party, it is the party that decided who is the PM.

I have to admit I don't get your point daryn. Those words do not compute. what is anti-trust action? what duo-poly? ???
sorry my education is obviously not up to yours.  :-[

not only that but it is clear that our locally held summit was a farce because 2 months afterward another summit was held in Panama or El Salvador and they did it all over again... that's where they voted to let Cuba back in- and Cuba said 'no thanks'
as if that was their priority, when the people of the region are in dire economic turmoil and all the leaders seem to be trying to snatch to themselves more and more power at the expense of democracy. just look at Honduras and Bolivia and not to forget Venezuela- they are now protecting their borders from Columbia...these are supposed to be friendly countries...steups ::)

if sexual preference was the yardstick for leadership this ship of state would be rudderless...but wait- we are!!

nuts to those who can't accept people who are different-
Gillian Lucky would be a good choice- as it is I say - it doesn't matter who we put- as long as it is NOT the incumbent >:( give somebody else a chance to muck up this country
