This is very relevant to this board and Ato`s involvement in the Senate can also assist in the grassroots projects of sport development.  Ato having already played a role in making a movie of the the soca warriors as well as the future marketing prospects. His name will play in the representation of sport on a whole in Trinidad and Tobago will speak volumes.

I would like to congratulate you today on becoming a senator.  I hope that as you said, you help to bridge the gap between the young and old. More importantly, I hope you help to bridge the gap that plagues my country between our cultures by trying to assist in educating our youth that we are ONE PEOPLE and all races can work together.  I also hope that you remember who you are and be honest first to yourself and to the Trinidadian people regardless of what politics will play out.. Remember you have a responsibility to the YOUTH...Remember from hence forth, whatever you say in the media or write, the VULTURES will be out for you....

TriniCana ah ent go lie..Ah does try SO hard with he and his behaviour.  Any time ah think ah taking 2 steps forward, TruTrini does have to embarass heself and take 3 steps back.  Ah tired try to teach him some manners but is only so much ah could do with he...Ah ent go lie..He is a good fella but ah dont know, he does just catch dah mad vaps.... and when ah tink he calm down, he does leave meh frustrated ...   D other day ah tell him ah go give him a FREE DOGGIE BISCUIT and he throw it back at meh...Ah guess he too proud to even accept charity...Anyhow ah feel he digging a little horrors cause he ent like meh talking to anybody he tracking...But ah have to say all he have is talk...he approach leaves alot to be desired...Some advice TRUTRINI....jus be yourself...One doesnt need to soothe a woman by using such vulgarity, rather think about writing her a poem or even creating a logo for TriniCana.  I am sure she would enjoy something thoughtful...Perhaps I would even create mine TruTrini but as I said...I wouldnt want to Jumbie yuh...

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad - Trinidad's government asked the country's soccer federation for World Cup tickets on Friday following allegations of cronyism and ticket price gouging against a top soccer official.
 
Roger Boynes, minister of sports and youth affairs, sent the request in a letter to Oliver Camps, president of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation.

"In the circumstances, the government will be approaching your organization with a view to acquiring a bloc of tickets for the respective games, as it is the government's intention to arrange charters with the national airline," Boynes wrote.

Camps confirmed that his office received the letter but said he hadn't yet seen it. He didn't know how many tickets the government wanted but said he previously told Boynes that anyone who applied for tickets would be considered.

The Trinidad and Tobago Express published a series of articles alleging that the sole agency selling World Cup tickets in Trinidad was owned by the family of FIFA vice president Jack Warner, a senior adviser to the T&TFA.

Warner acknowledged Tuesday that he owned Simpaul Travel Service Ltd. but said the criticism was personal and political. Warner also denied that Simpaul had exclusive rights to Trinidad's allotment of tickets.

Several phone calls placed to him on Friday seeking comment were not immediately returned. On Friday, the Simpaul Web site offered a travel package for the World Cup that didn't include tickets, stating: "Match tickets are not included and you must source these directly from TTFF or via the FIFA Web site."

Trinidad's Soca Warriors are making their first World Cup appearance and play Sweden, England and Paraguay in the first round of the tournament in Germany, which starts June 9.
