Football / Alcons U19 Boys visit the US.
« on: April 02, 2008, 02:57:51 PM »
Alcons U19 team arrived in Atlanta on Sunday and drove up to Charlotte NC where they are spending a week. Monday they visited the University of North Carolina Charlotte where they toured the facility and met with the head soccer coach. Tuesday they played one of the local club's U-18 and in attendance were a number of local college coaches. Wednesday they play Montreat College, Thursday is an off day, and Friday they play Queens college. They leave for Atlanta on Saturday morning and there they will continue the rest of their tour.

Based on their game last night against the Monroe U-18 there are a lot of true potential on that team I will get their full names and post it here later on to see if some of you guys know of them.

On another note, anyone heard of a player by the name of Judah Hernandez?? I need some info on him...I appreciate your help.

Sheffield keeps an eye on Jan Michael.
By: Shaun Fuentes (TTFF).

National team goalkeeper Jan Michael Williams could be a Sheffield United player by next month after receiving word while in Kingston with the “Soca Warriors” that Sheffield United are considering signing him on a full term basis.

Williams kept goal for T&T in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Jamaica. He flew in from Belgium where he has been campaigning in the Third Division but has been around quite a bit in the last few weeks. He had trials and training stints at English clubs Derby County and Charlton Athletic as well as joined Irish club Bohemians on a tour in Spain.

“It’s been a real experience out there. I wasn’t playing much in Belgium but the Sheffield management allowed me to move around and possibly get a loan deal. I did quite well but it has been difficult to get a full contract because of the time of the season. But things are looking up now with the latest news from Sheffield and hopefully something good comes out of this one,” Williams told  TTFF Media. "I didn't play in close to two weeks before the call for the Jamaica game and that can be frustrating sometimes but then I also have to be patient and wait on my turn."

Looking back at Wednesday’s draw, he added “I was very proud to be part of the team because we showed a lot of heart and played some good football to come from two goals down against Jamaica in their backyard. Credit to the coaching staff and the players for the effort. We had a bunch of youngsters who were determined and were able to do what the coach wanted. A lot of credit must go to him and Anton Corneal for working with us and getting the right message over."

Creativity: the ability to use the imagination to develop new and original ideas or things.

Considering the above sentence, did we have any person especially in the mid field department that demonstrated creativity during the game ???

Fellars this is what a man say on another thread about we level...

Other than the Mexican and MLS teams who really has a chance to win this? All the central american domestic leagues are weak and most carribean leagues are semi pro at best......In my opinion very few games will actually be worth watching.......they should just look to extend into the libertadores cup

We always gonna have some ass-hole on here who is gonna say we shoulda woulda...Fact is....this tree we calling our National football team, starts at the root and if the root is being neglected and they expecting the tree to bear true fruits... they some bigger ass than i thought. Anton like a puppet on a string..being tossed in all mixes with not enough to work with even the preparation time... You so call professional coaches who quick to offer on here your opinion...please for the benefit of us on here who tired of your yaking ...post your credentials and then pass your comment...if your qualification is not more than what we have at present.. i think you should keep your ass quiet... or go do the job!!

It is a fact that we are all entitled to our opinions..what gets me is a man who is arguably the most qualified in the subject, voices his professional opinion...then men here get all pissed off at the man and throw in their own opinions.. gesh, take what the man saying with a grain ah salt if you don't agree ..as I take what you say with a pound of salt especially the one called coach on here...what a waste.

My team was Peacemakers.

Great times. Big teams with big players used to be there.

Yea man I remember the Peacemakers... but do you remember Plaisance Park Rebels?
The Army had a team there...Sando Tech came with a team as well, Latas, Leo, Faustin etc etc... Petrotrin, Stallions, boy just to name ah few but at the end of the day the "Rebels" controlled things.

Written before the City game... the part about the girls is funny...

Sunderland want Jones to give Eriksson short shrift
By Michael Walker
Published: 05 November 2007

Sven Goran Eriksson has revealed that when he was manager of Lazio he tried to sign Roy Keane from Manchester United. "I was on the phone to his agent," Eriksson said, "but then he signed a new contract with United." Now Manchester City's manager, Eriksson will shake hands with Keane, the manager of Sunderland, at Eastlands tonight.

Keane knows the flattering side of what it is like to be a wanted man and he is coming to understand the potential hazards of having one in his team. In this case it is Kenwyne Jones, with whom Keane raised eyebrows with his £6m purchase from Southampton in August.

But Jones has scored four times in seven Premier League games for the Wearsiders – three in his last three – and Keane said: "If he continues in the form he's in, I would expect some calls. That shows the progress he has made in a short period. There are not that many big target-men out there. So the fact that he is quick and has a good touch makes it obvious that people will identify him. As for his opponents, it's one thing identifying certain players, stopping them is another thing."

A link has already been made with Liverpool and it would have been interesting to note Jones's language last week when he described life on Wearside as "a bit slow" and "quite hard, different." Jones added: "Sometimes you might need more excitement." Southampton must have been something else.

What is undeniable is that the 23-year-old from Trinidad has established himself as a key Sunderland player in just two months and, with Keane still feeling the hardship of injuries to last season's important duo of Dean Whitehead and Carlos Edwards, Jones's maturity has been welcome.

"He's a physical presence for us," Keane said. "We have to be careful not to put too much pressure on him. He's new to the Premier League but he has taken the responsibility on like a true man and that's what pleases me the most.

"He's laid-back. He's that character. I saw him on his second day here and it felt like he had been at the club a long, long time. He was talking to the girls in the office. A lot of the lads do that, the ones from Trinidad in particular."

Perhaps of more relevance tonight are the 20 goals Sunderland have conceded so far. City lost 6-0 at Chelsea in their last league match but a win would take them third.

Keane aint know that the man want to whine on a bumsie or what.... :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have never heard Vidale say anything positive about today's players or coaches.

Is one thing to listen.. the other is to comprehend what was heard. Knowledge of TnT football + Current players or coaches = sound advice falling as usual on deaf ears.
