Just in-case TV6 isn't streaming the game, here's an alternative link.  It's in English, and I'm currently watching the Pre-game.

The game is airing live here in the US on the 'UNVRSO' channel.

It's a bit messed up, because I'll have to switch between both the T&T/Guat game and the Knicks/Cavs game which will be airing at the same time.

I'll be wearing out the 'Last Channel' button on my remote-control tonite!!    ;D   :beermug:  :beermug:  :beermug:

@ Sando Prince --- I know Pres won 5-0 against Trinity East...but what were the other scores?

You can get scores on this site during the games for future reference:

Thanks, bro.  Looks like mathematically, Naparima has secured this year's Premier league title, while Pres has solidified 2nd place, with a chance to secure that 2nd place finish with a win or a draw on Wednesday.  Their closest rival for a 2nd place finish is St. Benedict's.

« on: October 22, 2015, 06:58:19 AM »
I'll settle this silly argument:  Israel is indeed OFFICIALLY an Apartheid state in practice.  It is official policy over there that the Palestinian people are treated as 2nd class...no, THIRD CLASS 'citizens'.  The dubious bigoted shameful insidious policies of Israel against the Palestinian people are a blight.  The GRAND THEFT of another man's country perpetrated by white Europeans against the Palestinian people in 1948, with the full support of then newly created UN, and the US Government, will forever go down as one of the saddest chapters in our history.

And please don't get me started on the False Flag attacks perpetrated by the Israeli government against its own people and its allies, as a pretext to justify its actions and shameful policies, and to further its geopolitical agendas.

Listening to the game live on a live i95.5FM radio-stream via my iPhone, though.

Can someone please tell me how San Juan is at the top of the SSFL table, with only 16 points, while Pres Sando is at #2 with 17 points???

San Juan won: 5 ; Drew: 1 ; Lost: 2; Their record should reflect 16 points, yet it reflects 18.

Pres Sando won: 5 ; Drew: 2; Lost: 1:  Their record correctly reflects 17 points.

So, what am I missing here in the Math?

WATCH: Steve David discusses Secondary School Football with former standouts Leonson Lewis and Anthony Sherwood

Great post, Tallman.  I was a Presman in the mid-1980s.  That 1986 & 1986 Pres Team was a real force to be reckoned with in any era.  Anthony Sherwood and Leonsen Lewis were not just extraordinary players with awesome skillsets on the field of play...they are two real class acts as well.  Real cool down-to-Earth fellas, as I know you're also well aware..

Also, it's great that they mentioned Ivan Sampson of St. Benedict's...great player.  And so was Glenn 'Benji' Benjamin of St. Benedict's.  I played against those two players often outside of the College league.

Anyhows, as always RePRESent.   ; :beermug: :beermug: :beermug:

With Pres Sando win over Speyside, and Naps 0-0 draw with Benedicts, it looks like Pres is currently in 2nd place, behind by 1 solitary point of first place Naps.

Contro has a track record of making these kind of posts to get our blood hot lol (anyone remembers his crusade for the inclusion of Kerwyn Ḧardest"Jemmott??)    i do agree with the general thrust of his post however.  this team is capable of beating teams in concacaf.  we have shown that we can score against any side...the problem is getting the defense in order i.e. defending as a team and as a unit.

Wait nah..."Controversial" is really "TrueTrini" in disguise???  But WDA??  bwahahahahahahahaha

I remember that fella use to real be on this board pushing hard for Kerwyn "Hardest" Jemmott back in 2005 and 2006 to be included in de team... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just read an article...we're ranked 56th...while Jamaica is at 55...they top the cfu rankings...and obliviously we're second...Haiti is 3rd at 84...

That draw against panama Jed...just can't get over that 😐

The loss to Panama in the Gold Cup quarterfinals last month wouldn't have hurt our rankings, since losses or wins in PK-shootouts are not taken into consideration 'point-wise' with regards to FIFA rankings.  The loss in PKs, is not considered a 'loss' by FIFA --- only wins or losses in Regulation time (or extra-time) are taken into consideration.    :)

JA football too boring for me to care or watch them play, too predictable and seldom ever gambles. Tnt always an unpredictable side that alone makes the team fun to watch, with JA expect to see no goals or 1 with 10 men behind the ball defending. I see some people are fixed on Mexico not earning the cup but they just won the final.

People forget that the best team can have bad days, unfair calls and get unlucky. it's all part of the game and how you deal with that will either reap fans or hate from supporters. What Panama did on and off the pitch was distasteful and it made our region look mediocre. Exposed us in a big way with international headlines for the wrong reasons. Panama for me has the team to be in the finals but not the discipline or the fan base to rival mexico or usa in terms of support.

I don't see anyone here is saying that Mexico didn't deserve to win the finals.  But I do see people like myself who are saying that Mexico did not deserve TO BE in this particular finals.

Mexico is a very good team, which most will not dispute.  However, this particular Gold Cup tournament was one that proved to be highly suspect with the officiating, and rather corrupt.  The game-changing calls made in Mexico's favor in the Quarter-finals, and then in the Semi-finals were not just bad calls...they were blatantly deplorable.  We have to face the fact that regional tournaments such as these are tied-in very much to TV ratings, corporate sponsors, and other monied interests.  Having a Gold Cup finals between smaller-population states (Jamaica vs a Panama or a Costa Rica, for example), would not have been the  ratings bonanza that tournament organizers would have been counting on.

This begs the question --- if down the road, a tiny population country like Grenada, by some miracle qualified for the GC and fielded a team that threatened to make it far in the GC during the knock-out phase....would the game be officiated FAIRLY if that particular match were close (tied, or with Grenada up 1-0), against a US or Mexico in the dying minutes of the game?

The blatant deplorable officiating in this tournament at important junctures in the matches, has taken away somewhat the credibility of this tournament.

After-all, would "Fox Sports" or major corporate sponsors benefit from say for example a "T&T vs Barbados" Gold Cup finals?  Based on what we have witnessed here in 2015, if T&T and B'dos were leading in their respective knock-out matches in close games against any of the 3 major regional populous countries (USA, Mexico, Canada), I don't believe a T&T vs B'dos final would ever be allowed to happen.

Mexico definitely deserved to win today's final against JA --- this isn't in dispute.  But Mexico did not deserve to even make it to this particular finals.  Monied corporate interests decided on Mexico being in this finals.

When a tournament's credibility is dishonored and tarnished, everyone loses.

Mexico played an excellent match today, outplaying Jamaica for the majority of the match.

But even with this victory, I have absolutely no respect for Mexico on EARNING this trophy.  Mexico played in a finals via corrupt means.

The gold trophy they will be given for this beautiful well-played victory, will be a gold trophy tarnished and stained.

When any single World Class team on the verge of losing a knock-out match, is given not one, but TWO match-wins on a silver platter by the match-officials, then it's not likely that they will lose a 3rd straight match (regardless of the officiating).

Mexico was handed the finals on a silver platter via a dubious penalty call in the Quarter Finals against Costa Rica, and then further dubious calls in the Semi-finals against Panama.

For all intents and purposes, Mexico should not have been Jamaica's opponent in this match.

The 6-second rule never ever came-up during the US commentaries whenever the US goalkeepers held the ball whenever they were leading in the 2nd half. Hmmmmmmm....maybe it's just a coincidence.    ;D
