i really tink TI just come up in this badboy just to tick off berris i sure... cuz da's one of d stupidest post i ever see in my life and yuh know d sad ting it have trinis wgo actually believe dat stern doh play he heart out for the national side... the only reason i have constantly defended stern is because i have watched him play for us his whole career... go back in time 2 years... you really tink anybody could have question Stern's commitment to the national team, of the foreign based pros the only one who has been as loyal to the national cause has been Marvin Andrews.... stay at point in time... Stern wasn't we main scorer aaround dat time to??? hell he was even our leading scorer in the damn qualifiers and dat was only a year ago... now picture this... just a year ago local fans, trinidadians was quick to berate and jeer stern john ( a trinidadian player ) to the point that he had to throw back cuss at dem after he score goals for dem ( panama in stadium 0 as if he playing for the away team or sumtin... Trinidadians rel damn grateful, Lasana Liburd had write an article in express sport the week b4 the world cup about Stern John's contribution to our qualification and amidst all the criticism and ting, men on the team even had tell d man if their was in his shoes they woulda retire and turn dey back on local football... now dat rel sad... AND I STILL FEEL one of the reasons stern john lose his place at Birmingham cause he used to come back to play for t&T so much...
AS FOR HIS WC PERFORMANCE
I didn't go germany, but the only game i was truly let down by stern's performance was against paraguay...
i thought he played well against sweden, and my father ( who btw is not a Stern John fan ) showed me the fact that sweden stayed with 3 or at the back despite dominating the attacking end of the field was due to stern's rep more than anything else - which helped us out on defense btw...
against england he had a good game as well, considering dat terry always seemed to want to wine on him during dat game.. and i tink he force terry to make a clearance off he line, almost sneak in at the far post for a header with carragher not too far away and a tight offside call when he flick in glen attempted shot/cross... so i not sure if he didn't want to score...
now OMARLDINHO, i didn't go germany, and probably if i had see the incident u were referring to i woulda get upset, but still i considering 2 tings, stern is not d fastest striker ind world for one so the breakaway still might not have work, and also i remember that wen glen came on stern started playing deeper, actually collecting the ball in our half, so maybe glen was d man to make the run not stern, u dunno wat instructions d man had...
