Football / Re: WE'LL DO IT ON OUR OWN Warner tells Boynes

I think it is sad that this has now become a political football.  When party politics come into play, common sense goes out the window.

I understand the passion but when I ask questions it is because I want to know, it is not because I am trying to be difficult.
If it wasn't for JDB I think I might have just left the site to the men...

Thank you for answering my question without the expletives. I don't think I have ever been curse like that in my life.. :) I honestly didn't think my question was foolish. However yes I have to agree with you that if the organisation is not willing to be transparent then one can assume that they have something to hide

*LOL* I am a woman not a man. I understand you are upset  I am not expert I am new to it and learning.  So okay I will go and do some homework.  I just feel that the TTFF is so badly managed I can't see how they can be a cash cow

You know I have serious doubts about Jack Warner and Simpaul Travel and the sale of tickets. His press conference did not  quell any doubts that I have.
However as to Jack Warner making loads of money from the TTFF over the years I don't know about that. I mean in all seriousness the TTFF a cash cow, I don't think so?

How does one put an end to the nonsense? What are you suggesting should be done?

It is not acceptable but it is the truth.  I won't be buying any tickets from Simpaul but I assure you I will be one of the few

I agree it is a red herring but unfortunately proper procedure, conflict of interest is NOT part of out vocabulary here in Trinidad.

Mr. Boynes agreed to pay the coaching staff, he doesn't need a budget for that. We know how much it cost that  was made very public. Why hasn't he paid the coaching staff? He has the cost and  what it is going to be used for  What is his reason for not paying

Ok you have to admit that agreement was probably made a long time ago and that the US certainly has more political weight than T&T.
Even if we ask for exemption do you think we will get it before World Cup and even if we do, I don't think than anyone can honestly say that we should depend on that for World Cup preparation.

Are you saying that the USA Football Federation asked for their money to be exempt?

I was not hearing clearly the questions  the journalists were asking.  I heard somebody asking about the money the TTFF will be getting from FIFA. Jack Warner said it is about 3million Francs and that the German government taxes the money. I think the journalist was questioning whether it would be taxed since it Swiss francs but Jack Warner kept saying the money is in Germany.

So in a nut shell Jack is saying that he has supported football they way no one has and this attack on him is politically motivated. Therefore making the accusation made by Liburd as biased and of no value.
Now I agree that Jack Warner has made a large contribution to football but he has not proven to me that the reporter is politically motivated as a matter of fact it is like people in public office to see the' bogey man' behind every report that does not make them look good.
Now I agree that the government needs a budget to account for how the money was spent but they certainly don't need one to compensate the footballers to getting us to World Cup

Ok he is saying now that he will not be asking any money from the government. That will make the government look rather foolish.  Yes,  I have to agree with Jack why do they have to wait on him to give money

HE IS STILL NOT ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS!!

No one is disputing how much Warner has done for local football. I think though he has not clearly answered the questions or accusations made by the reporter, Mr. Liburd.  Mr. Warner attacking the reporter just makes him seem petty and trying to avoid the real issue.

He is not making sense. He is saying that it has not been determined who will be repsonsible for the selling of the tickets.  Then if that is so why is Simpaul offering a package?

Football / Re: Warner to present Warriors budget.

I am sorry that is too much money, I don't know how he can't justify that amount of money.  By the way does anybody know what is the WC budget for example a country like Australia?

One of the things that the Minister said which was interesting was that he still has not received a budget from the TTFF.  Now why is it taking so long for the TTFF to come up with a budget?

Football / Re: How come Trini women doh know much bout football?
« on: December 22, 2005, 01:04:33 PM »
Well seeing that I am a Trini woman,I will answer for myself.  I am not much into sports, especially football. I don't understand the technicalities of the game. Forget asking a man questions when he is looking at  the game....BAD TIMING!!!!
I think it has to do with how football on the whole is marketed in Trinidad, you have to admit you can NOT compare Trinidad to Brazil and England.
I now know who some of the guys are because they talk about them all the time in  the media and they have sponsored segments explaining what are their posistions (I hope I am using the right term) on the side.
Why are they now only doing that, because we have qualified.
I have no idea who are the people on the Under 17 and Under21 side. If you do a survery I am sure  the average Trini man does not know either.
Brazil and England  live, sleep, eat football WE DO NOT don't blame the women for that

Yeah I agree I have newfound respect for Birchall, didn't know he was getting all that pressure from his teammates

Football / Re: Are you happy with so many players declaring for Trinidad?
« on: December 19, 2005, 12:06:10 PM »
I agree competition is good, especailly for Caribbean people.  We have a very laid back attitude to almost everything we do Just  look at the West Indies cricket team where there is no competition for space on the side look at their attitude and look at the result of that.
With so many people wanting to get on the team the guys who are already on the  team know that their space on the team is no guarantee they have to step up to another level.
You  have to agree that the coach reputation is also at stake he is not any "pick-up-side coach" just going for the EXPERIENCE.  He is  NOT going to the World Cup stage to be made a fool of. He has a goal he wants to get us to the second round and if some individuals can help in that process he will  consider them.

57
OK I will try to deal with WHAT was said and not WHO is saying it.  I think Jamal Shabazz didn't listen clearly to what Beenhakker was saying which is that  he is going to play the best team and yes the invitation is open to all who can play; HOWEVER no one, NO ONE is going to walk in on the team, you have to EARN your spot.
I think if we trust Beenhaker to get us this far we can trust him to get us even further.

58
Jamal is saying that Trinidad owes the Yorkes, Hislops and the Latas a trip to the World Cup.  He is saying that if we invited players before our qualification and they refused and now want to come on board he sees it as being opportunistic
What do you think?

Football / Re: But i never.....
« on: December 09, 2005, 09:09:03 AM »
Yuh understand why we can't get very far in international sports, we are so small minded and petty and we nitpick on the most frivolous of issues it is amazing.   >:(
Now supposedly this is an educated guy questioning the number of people going to witness a WORLD CUP DRAW!!!!  He has not a clue what he is talking, obviouly he is not aware of the magnitude of this event and of the many possibilites that can be gained by being there and we certainly can not monopolise on the situation if two or three people go. As a matter of fact we did not send enought people.
