Unknown to many here the TTFF shenanigans continues. Roxborough Lakers vs Police FC was carded as the second game of a double header at Goodwood Recreation Ground last Wednesday. While the early game between Hills Utd and Cunupia FC was in progress, one can notice the rapid deterioration of the playing surface as the rain poured down and the difficulty it posed to the teams playing. One prominent match official expressed his disappointment that any game especially one of this importance could be played on such a mud patch. The teams continued their pre-match preparations and took the field at the conclusion of the first game which Cunupia won. The ball boys were in position and in spite of the conditions it appeared that the stage was set for the kick off. Noticeably absent were the match officials.

After 15 minutes of so without any action, two gentlemen walked down the side of the pitch and paused at the Police FC bench and spoke to the Police representatives there. They later went to the Roxborough Lakers bench and did the same.  While this "conversation" was going on, the Lakers' players went over to the bench. I walked over to the bench in time to hear match official - Allen Granville say " ... well the game could be played tomorrow. This ground is not fit for play." I later found out that the referee was not there. A referee assistant from the earlier game and Mr. Granville (usually the 4th official) were the match officials present. The coach explained to me that Mr. Granville offered the choice to play the match in the marshy conditions with substitute official, or play the game tomorrow which he thought was quite reasonable and opted for the later.

It must also be noted that Police FC reportedly trained in the rain that morning in the very slushy conditions. This after cancellation to game scheduled for Monday 10 and Tuesday 11, December, the two consecutive day prior to our scheduled game.

At 7:45 am the following day, I was informed by the TFA's Secretary Operations that the game would be played at Plymouth at 7:00 pm that evening (very much in keeping with what was said by Mr. Granville when the game was postponed). I informed the coach and manager who in turn informed the players.

At about 9:40 am, I was called again by The Secretary Operations who asked me to call the TFA's office for some information. When I called the office, I was told by the Secretary that Police FC had submitted a report stating that we (Roxborough Lakers) forfeited the game and the game was awarded to Police. The Lakers' manager then got involved and sought confirmation from the TFA and TTFF. The TTFF requested the he submit a report to them and that the referee was asked to do the same.

The report was prepared, but before dispatching it to the TTFF, the manager called Mr. Granville the once again confirm his recollection of the circumstances that led to the postponement. He was indeed correct, and sent the document to the TTFF by email. This all happened on Thursday 13, December. The draw was scheduled to take place on Friday, and indeed no decision had been taken.

The TTFF tournament Committee met on Monday 17, and gave the following decision:
The members of the Competitions and Tournaments Committee deliberated on the Referee's report and unanimously agreed:
1. The match be awarded to the Police F.C.
2. The Referee's report and the Tournaments and Competitions decisions will be referred to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation Disciplinary Committee for any additional sanctions the Disciplinary Committee may think necessary.

This decision was sent to us yesterday afternoon, with the Police FC vs Central FC game scheduled for this evening.

This report appeared in the papers:

Today's Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) FA Trophy round of 16 contest between F.C. Santa Rosa and North East Stars has been moved to the Ato Boldon Stadium as the second half of a double header, due to a waterlogged playing field at the Youth Training Centre.
That match will kick off at 8 p.m. kick-off, after Police face Central F.C. from 6 p.m. And similar circumstances, with the playing field being deemed unfit at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, has resulted in a shift in venue for those matches scheduled. However the substitute venues were still undecided up to press time.

I am absolutely gutted, and we feel hard-done by these representatives of the game. We earned this tie, and it was snatched away. We are currently speaking to our "Special Advisor" to determine the appropriate course of action.

respectfully submitted,

D. Reid
Secretary,
Roxborough Lakers Sports Club.

Bishop's High School wins both Tobago Zone Girls League and Intercol titles. Earlier this week they claimed the league title after beating Signal Hill 4-0 at BHS grounds. They won the Intercol Finals today (Oct 25th 2012) 3-2 over Scarborough Secondary School.

Blessings and Enjoy the night.

So how come they not playing in the Big 5 and Scarborough Secondary is there ?

The simple answer is that the press got it wrong. :frustrated:
Scarborough Secondary won the Boys League title While BHS are double Girls champions, winning both the League and Intercol titles.

T&T U-16 girls win two in Fort Lauderdale.
By: Shaun Fuentes (TTFF).

A Trinidad and Tobago Select Under 16 Girls Football team completed their second win in as many matches on their current training camp in Fort Lauderdale.

The team, under coach Marlon Charles, arrived in FL last Thursday for the four-match training camp as it prepares for future competitions including the next Under 17 World Cup qualifying tournament.

T&T won its opening game 2-0 over Coral Springs United last Friday through goals by Jahra Thomas and Khaline Jacobs.

Then on Sunday, the visitors came from two goals down to get the better of Coral United’s Under 17 team 4-2. Doubles by Jahra Thomas and Zoe Swift did the job for the T&T girls.

Charles described the trip as something that was ideal for the team in its build up to future competitions.

“It is ideal for us at the moment to be able to have the girls come out in an environment like this and get the exposure,” he told TTFF Media.

“The facilities are excellent and just the opportunity for the players to get match practice against some of the US teams is something that will benefit them.

We have two more games left on the tour and we will definitely be looking for more good results as well hoping to make full use of the opportunity to better the team’s condition for later down the road.”

Dexter Skeene, Dexter Sandy, Simmo, Clint Marcelle, Veron Skinner, Garnet Craig, Saba (lemme see if allyuh know he...allyuh Belmont men dream yuh have ah Mangal's Roti in yuh mouth and hush please).

In all fairness, Skeene, Corneal, Simmo, Craig and Skinner were held back simply becz they came from prestige colleges. Only Alvin as Coach didn't have that hang up.

Sandy played in Ireland but really did seem to disappear from the landscape. Simmo won the US cup with his team but really was lost in the American system. Thank God Alvin got to be Coach or Simmo,Skeene and Corneal would've had much shorter careers at international level.

Never understood why Craig didn't continue playing in the US. People spoke so highly of him.

VB
Were Skeene, Corneal and Craig Maple players? Just like Alvin was? If in fact they were, then there's an explanation why the broke through. Simmo went HU and was lost to the National setup.
