If you're in T&T, you would need to get used to the Trini way!  ;D

The Stadium was closed November or sometime late in 2012 for work on the track, and was only made available for a couple events since inclusive of the funeral of the late ANR Robinson. OSHA finally shut it down fully a few months ago.

You don't have to explain or defend the appointment to me, the larger point I was raising is that we tend to complain about nepotism but only when convenient. Not only that, but this is public funds that were dealing with, it's quite different from in the corporate world or on a football staff.
Bro' this is how it's done in T&T. All them Ministers in Gov't and Secretaries in the THA use this selection process for their advisers. Sancho met this system and was probably advised as to what the criteria was. If it faulty it is not his fault.

They said we were looking especially shaky late last year and the year before too. We have had more bumps than usual. We will probably have less of them late in the season. Last season we had a fantastic start. But the two seasons before that we had very weak starts also. This season we looking to have a fantastic end with Walcott, Ozil and Ramsey returning from injury. 4 points out of 3rd in early January is nothing to be frightened about. Like I said, they have been talking this way for the last 10 years and it eh happen yet. 2 seasons ago we started February in 7th place.

yeah but alyuh problem is dis year southampton doin what alyuh was doin last year, but better  beatin d rest of table and dey take point from chelsea and now from alyuh, unlike everton last year their challenge is very strong due to a generous fixture draw perhaps, but they have a solid defense and capable attack..........arsenal has been average in both this year
Is capable attack the same as average attack?

As much as I am rooting for the TTFA, this is real last minute planning here and we're looking bad. Again, problems with getting a flight from TRINIDAD to Tobago...
It has more to do with the funding than the availability

Guadeloupe whip game Tobago
By Ian prescott (Express).

Youthful Tobago coach Marlon Topping changed almost his entire team in the second session, including five players at the half. Tobago, therefore had less impact.

Toppin is his surname

If the stadium management indicated that the venue would be ready and available, and only informed the National Association about the problem when final checks were made?

It was a "No Show" by the staff today with no communication - very dismaying!

Doc are you involved in soccer in Tobago? Why I ask is because of the 2 responses below. One seems to think there was communication about the change of venue and the other thinks that all is good.

From my understanding, the session was moved from Dwight Yorke Stadium Training Grounds to Mt. Gomery. I met a few players there around 10 am and they about 25 players turned up. They were also told to keep their ears open for further news as the selectors may come up next weekend.

Side note: getting flights out of Piarco to ANR International airport was a real headache (from what I understand). I know that for certain. I went to see a karate exam and the sensi was at least 90 mins late.

Richard G.

Thanks for the update and clarification coach.
I find way to be... lol. I was contacted by the TFA's office about the screening, and which players needed to be in attendance from my club. One of the players had transferred to Phoenix last season  ;D. I took the players who were available to the 8:30 am screening at Montgomery. We arrived at 8:10 am and there were a handful of players including one player from C'ville who caught the 6 am bus from C'ville to be there on time.
At 8:30, I told my players it probably was a 9 am start and the wanted to ensure that they got there in time  ;D ;D The numbers were increasing gradually. Nine o'clock came and went and there was still no signs of a football official. It was approaching 9:30 when I called the TFA President. He was a short distance away, so I awaited his arrival.
As I wound up the conversation, a parent motioned to me to come. I went over and was joined by another club's official. She said the screening was cancelled as the party could not obtain flights to Tobago. She went on to state that a member of the party who was related to her son called him last night to inform him. He in turn informed his friends. She said that she was in the area and decided to stop by the field to see if anything was taking place there. At that moment the TFA's president arrived. He related the same story. He too had found out the night before when he called the TFA's Gen. Sec. in response to an inquiry made by an interested party.
In the end, it was clear that there was no coordination done by the TFA. I left with the impression that the TTFA left it too late to find locals (Tobagonians) to carry out the exercise. The TFA tried to no avail, and the invitees were not informed.
The president addressed the players present. He apologized and promised better coordination and communication in the future. There were about 30 players present at the time.

Right..so World Cup Done..and after seeing thousands of posts from Trinis and expert analysis and comments with pure passion and pride...even locals on the papers crying when " their " team lost and celebrating when "their" team win...all that good..no problem..is the World Cup after all...

I am now asking at least "HALF" of all the people to start supporting your own country football teams with if not the same passion, at least HALF...lord knows they need it...and if you think the next World Cup is in 2018..well it actually begins in 2016..when we start qualifying matches....

.dont get me wrong..look, I support Germany since 1974..I real celebrate that title Sunday....I support Man Utd..but I dont miss a TnT match..small friendly or Important qualifier...frig I go and watch them train....I even plan gigs and tours around it...

I go watch local leagues...so im begging you all to start checking some local pro league matches..some super league..zonal..youth football ..pick a team and support..and dont come with the "quality" of play talk...when it comes to your country you could let some of that pass....I see big teams at the World Cup play some good shit...lots and lots of people predicted TnT would have been beaten by Argentina by 7,8 or 10 goals...hope you like BRAAZIL now..lessons learned..it could happen to ANYONE..cause only Football knows...gentle reminder..Messi did not score in that game against TnT either..

Yes the great era of Yorke,Russell Latapy,Hislop, Chris Birchall,Stern John, Brent Sancho, Kelvin Jack,Denis Lawrence, Jason Scotland,Marvin Andrews and others long gone..but my point is..I watch all of them from under 16 football....dont wait to be the one in the stadium asking "Who is Kevin Molino..Guerra ( yea..the one who bow to Messi)...Cesar..Peltier..Hector( yes)...Mitchell and others....

go every now and then...we could do it again...but we need you...well at least "HALF" of you...the others will come when the final qualifying game is on...like always.
Not to mention one man stole $200,000,000 TT Dollars from our football Coffers..boy we could use that now.
So yea...I said it..so go ahead...
