Football / Re: Corneal: Tim Kee and Phillips are opportunists
« on: April 03, 2014, 08:48:17 PM »
Arnold Corneal, brother of former technical director Anton Corneal, accuses the TTFA of a lack of respect to local coaches:

We continue to manage the administrative function of local football in a manner that lends itself to continued scepticism and mistrust. In addition, the stories of local coaching practitioners who have not been paid, still echo in our ears.
One would have thought that Raymond Tim Kee, who holds down three jobs—Mayor of Port of Spain, insurance agent at Guardian Life, and president of the TTFA—would respect the value of a good days pay for a good days work. Clearly, the responsibilities inherent in providing effective football administration are not considered significant enough to have a full time president.
More importantly, we continue to see the disrespect, and disregard for our local coaches; by them not being paid, as in the case with Anton Corneal, and further by ignoring their contribution to the game. But ironically enough, there is always money to be found to pay foreign coaches.
Tim Kee has expressed publicly that he wants Leo Beenhakker to have a role in local football; knowing fully that this would be at least a US$50,000 per month commitment, even with would be a pay cut from when he was here in 2006.
And with the new ‘Hart’ that came on board, this operation surely would have cost at least US$25-35,000 per month. But we have no money to pay local coaches!
Something else to consider is: Who is Sheldon Phillips? What is his claim to football management fame? But here he is employed in the unilateral decision by the president to run football while Tim Kee dabbles in the politics and ultimately earns a living through insurance activity.
This is the same Tim Kee who held the position of vice president of the TTFF, while Mr. Jack Warner was special adviser. The TTFA continues an uncontrollable downward spiral and the victims are players, coaches and passionate football supporters.
While some may hold the view that I write in support of my brother Anton, more importantly, I write in support of curbing the landslide of local football, done at the hands of opportunistic personalities like Phillips and Tim Kee, who both bring little to the sport management table. Both had little success in that sphere of operations; yet the future of our football directly depends on their fancies and decisions.
Please wake up: players, coaches, supporters, sponsors and people of Trinidad and Tobago. There is much too much at stake here!

Technical Director (National), ? Is this position currently vacant or will be vacant. Who is the current TD?
This is the Ministry of Sports, not TTFA
That's very interesting.
I think not! They should provide grants ;D

Battling performance from the Gunners. Pool missed some good chances and really had a solid penalty denied for Ox's foul on Suarez. Of course Gerrard had enough fouls to be sent off twice so it evens out. Nice to see the Arsenal grinding out wins like this for a change.

Could always count on you to come with some excuse/b.s. justification in Arsenal's favor.  You seriously arguing that a red card denied "evens out" a penalty denied?  That doesn't even make sense.  Podolski had a cynical two-footed tackle on Flanagan from behind, with no attempt whatsoever to play the ball.  He was mad that in his mind he was just fouled 5 feet away and petulantly took it out on Flanagan.  Two-footed tackle from behind is a straight red... he get a yellow.  That doh even it out?  What about the mad man tackles that Flamini was pelting... yet he only get a yellow for taking out Gerrard on a contested head ball... that doh even out?  And what about Monreal raking down the back of Allen's achilles... and standing on the back of the man ankle.  He only get a yellow for that... none of that "evens out"?  I refuse to take you seriously.  Enjoy de win Webb give allyuh, but spare we de bullshit please.

 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
If you refuse to take me seriously, why bother answering? Take your hypocritical infantile petulance out on somebody who gives a flying f*ck. You are so constantly full of nonsense and ad hominem attacks I stopped considering you worthy of reasoned debate ages ago.
Bakes, yuh like a cry baby... I remember being called that when worse treatment were meted out to our players.... We due some luck, and it could be karma ;D  ;D

Two points dropped!! I don't get it with Wenger. Giroud needs help, Ozil is drained, and the game plan is to predictable for opposing teams. This side is beyond belief!!

So nobody address the Kim Kallstrom transfer?  Worst transfer of the window!!!
Wenger has to be a little bit crazy.
Wenger bawl Kallstrom is cover for Ramsey and Wilshere and whoever is injured now.
Only for the public to find out that Kallstrom is unavailable for around 6 weeks due to an injury that Arsenal knew about!

Absolute genius... too bad it is beyond you!  ;D  ;D

Rain in Tobago ...

Game delayed

Rain has stopped ..covers are being taken off ...No sun at the moment

Estimated time to start about 60 minutes

Umpires looking at strip

Reduced over game ... a game will be played
That outfield drains very slowly, so if enough rain falls, play may not be possible today.

Still a bit  dizzy by the outcome of  yesterdays  game (Trinidad/Tobago vs Costa Rica ) ...... i am even more convinced a lack of fitness, ( fatigue)   was a key  factor in the lost yesterday ..   one just has to take a look at the stats during the second period of the  game !!  a clear  sign of a lack of fitness....... i am making a direct plea to the powers that be ...in this  case to the President and general  secretary of the TTFA and other  officials attached to national team football , please . please let us all ensure  that  adequate  and  preparations be given to all national team's , be it men,/ women / or youths.... let us not keep repeating the same errors with such frequency ........The key is long term  continuity ..... we cannot be truly serious when sending any national teams to competition with  1 month  and a half preparation  expecting  to win  its   laughable  .....   my simple Plea is  lets do things properly  and have our teams given all the tools to compete well so we can all be proud of them ... when wearing the red white and black....  .....  i just want to add Mr sheldon phillips and Mr richard tim kee   keep up the work ,
How many times will it be mentioned that u can't get these women/girls for any length of time to do any kind of proper preperation, these players going to school/work and is not like they can take time off when ever it's convenient, they don't play on professional teams to consistently get exposed to high level competition, they don't get don't get paid like the men do to remburse them for there time,it happens with all our Women's teams, this is not an excuse it's fact.
How would our Women gain any kind of experience if we don't send them to play in major competitions,i'm not saying i'm happy with the loss or we didn't qualify but i'm satisfied with the effort made by our Women, that's the best they could have done considering the preparations they had.
After reading all these posts, views and ideas by some experts on the forum my feeling is that some of us was waiting for this to happen, some ppl have nothing good to say, they repeating their criticism of the team over and over and over again like a long playing record,we all know what went down u don't think the TTFA know what went down too but we want to advise them like they blind, look how long we have Women Football only when things like this happen ppl does give them any attention,Shabazz fight with them Women for years without no support only criticism.
Our Women have come frome very far to reach where they reach,i want to thank the coaching staff including Anton Corneal for an excellent performance by our team, just like i never thought we would have qualified for a WC in my lifetime these Women will surprise alyu one day.

I actually think the team was fit enough.... their downfall was their inability to retain possession long enough. The game plan  was to play a high pressure game and they bonked. Their inability to alter their approach did them in. Added to that it was their 5th game in 10 days with basically the same players involved. It could have been predicted

I'm sure the TTFA will receive some of the gates - it's not a charity and we can't afford to fly them anywhere for free, and the players don't play for free neither.

Also, Trini came 3rd in the Pan American Games football competition that year - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_at_the_1967_Pan_American_Games

If only we'd beaten Bermuda!!
Does anyone know what really happened in that game? I understand that a player in pursuit of personal glory, "passed himself" fit when he wasn't  and thereby compromised the team's effectiveness and efficiency. There went the result!

Umm ....would you care to expound on that?

First time I hearin anyting so.....then again, I learnt of the Haiti/TT WCQ debacle almost 3 decades after it happened
Anyway prefix da talk with "ah did hear" if need be
Ah did hear so

The problem with Moyes is that he lacks ideas and creativity...he had a decent team at Everton but never tried anything different and that may be due to assistant coaches who were just run of the mill guys and who probably  will never be  able to affect the team like Meulensteen or Queiroz.  With the constant call for a left back I wonder what Evra must be thinking as this will only bring discord into the team.

Completely Disagree.... If he lacked ideas and creativity why did he try to sign some of the best CM's in the world ? example Cesc... it is not his fault that our new Vice Chairman didnt know his ass from his elbow in the transfer market... nor was it his fault that majority of world class central mids were unavailable mainly due to alot of coaches changed at the top clubs and generally in your first year you want to keep the team together and give them a chance to impress before making a quick assumption

Secondly. never tried anything different at Everton ? look at their progression in style of play and upgrade of flair and easy on the eye players...Last season Everton were quite good with quick passing , 4-2-3-1 with majority of their width coming from attacking fullbacks in Baines and Coleman while that front 4 of Mirallas Piennar Fellaini supporting Jelavic with Osman and Gibson holding played some fantastic football

We are 3 games into the season and have many injuries and players now coming back into fitness (Nani, Kagawa etc) .. players that can make a huge difference

Too early to judge and stamp an opinion... people panicking as if we lost all 3 games.... relax

Trust the Gaffer...I guarantee we will play better football under Moyes and the new staff than we have done over the last few seasons...which have been quite poor despite winning a couple league titles...that was the brilliance of Fergie, to get the job done despite being the 3rd or 4th best playing team

Sit back and let the man get his time to get his style across

sigh ..and what style is this????

this will be my official protest till Moyes is gone :pissedoff: :pissedoff: :pissedoff: :pissedoff: :pissedoff: :pissedoff:
If you think that's the solution..... be careful what you wish for...  :rotfl: :rotfl:
