I doh see any real value in comparing these two players... we looking at two completely different players.

If we were comparing Evans Wise to Elliot-Allen or Leonson Lewis .. different story.

I agree Small Mag...

Hyland spoke about his unwillingness to play CB for T&T, or is this just more speculation?  I know he spoke openly about his liking to play end to end but I dont see him putting in less effort in a crucial WCQ if asked by Otto to play CB...

I saw Rambo the other day...after the independance day parade.  He ent change much physically...doh know if he still running ball though.  The man was poison in his days sah.  I cant talk much for the indiscipline of the man, but i could remember him getting sent off in a game against Police though.

That man used to always light up Skinner Park when Army come to play Trintoc or Caroni or Civic Center.  I was lil youth in them days and could always remember dem seriously bandy legs beating men and going down the wing.  Defence Force in them days was mainly Army men with the one stand out Coast Guard man a 'half white boy'...Seales i think was his name.

Sloane Seales ... if i'm not mistaken

That is the man self...vicious lil short redman.  A real ball winner in the midfield.

We need more players like that... no fuss, just hard working midfielders

Good player.

One of the best players to play for T&T?  NAH!

No disrespeck....but it had PLENTY others better than him.  He used to score goals tho fuh real.

For example....he didn't want nutten wit Bert Neptune (a nex army man).  Now if allyuh say DAT was one a T&T bess ballas....yuh would have a case.

Rambo could be compared to a Nevick Denoon or a Adrian Fonrose.

I feel dat description of Rambo is jes a case of nostalgia.

Wouldnt say he was one of the best .... but from what I remember, and Im not that old, Rambo was a crowd favorite, very exciting player and as Big Mag say, full of  tricks and very very quick and would always be amongst the goals. He was tall, lean and very athletic. Definitely one of the most excting players I've seen at the club level. Like I said in my earlier post, he reminds me of Bobby Zamora, both in how they look and similar stlye play and attitude.

Rambo was a character. Imagine an army man with no discipline from the Lavantille Road area.. but boy was he entertaining to watch. He has a Bobby Zamora finish (look like BZ) and had the same type of attitude on the field.

Rambo, Miguel Hackett and Puckerin, dem three army men used to play minor league football with Mico in Aranguez and used to have the savannah buzzing. Rambo was one of the most entertaining players to watch, didnt know what to expect and fight could break out at any moment. He was a very good player for Army, very skillful, lots of natural ability and very quick. He played for Army in the mid 80s with men like Kenrick Fleary and Bertrand O'Brien when they were the 'bigside' along with Trintoc who had Marvellous, Clayton Morris, Philbert Jones, Adrian Fonrose ..etc.

Not sure what school he went to but was a fixture at all San Juan Snr Comp (Bourg)games

Flex,Coops could tell yuh bout Rambo, but dont expect to see him posting here anymore, yuh migh have to give him a call.

wwwwwwhhhhhhaaatttt???!!!!  :o :o

I never knew Raffique Shah was a PNM??!!  Ah mean how he could say this....

In its 16 months in office, the People's Partnership Government has generated a scandal a month. That's more than the unlamented Patrick Manning regime managed in its truncated eight years in power.

A scandal a month Raffique??!!  Naaaahhhhhh....a scandal per day is more like it.... ::) ::)

Like I said and Raffique saying it too.....Jack needs to go from government....

It will take a lot more than Raffique and a few others, but thats a good start.  For Jack to leave, the PEOPLE have to put pressure on Kamla...but then again if she remove Jack, all she business will get exposed ..

CFU OFFICIALS BANNED

FIFA punishes CFU officials

Trinidad Express

ZURICH

Football's world governing body FIFA yesterday slapped a six-month ban on Jamaica Football Federation president, Captain Horace Burrell, for his role in the cash-for-vote scandal and also imposed a series of sanctions on several other Caribbean Football Union (CFU) officials.

Burrell, a leading Caribbean Football Union member and a long-time ally of former FIFA strongman Jack Warner, was the most senior of the cadre of CFU officials punished for apparent violations of FIFA's Code of Ethics, following an investigation by their ethics committee.

The probe surrounded a meeting in Port of Spain last May when former FIFA presidential candidate Mohammed bin Hammam and Warner were alleged to have offered CFU members US$40,000 cash inducements, in exchange for their votes at the June 1 FIFA presidential election.

Though Warner resigned–and was exempted from investigation–and bin Hammam banned for life following a high-profile ethics inquiry, FIFA opened proceedings against Caribbean officials, stating that the "conduct of others who attended the meeting…justified further investigation".

As a result, Burrell will be prohibited from any football-related activity, though FIFA has suspended three months of the ban for a two-year period.

Only recently, Burrell announced his intention to run for the top spot in the CFU and in CONCACAF, the continental governing body for football in North and Central America and the Caribbean.

He will now have to withdraw his candidacy for both organisations.

In addition to Burrell, three more officials were banned, three reprimanded and five warned by FIFA's ethics committee.

Franka Pickering of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) was handed the most severe punishment with an 18-month ban and US$560 fine. She is one the most senior women in international football.

Ian Hypolite of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Dominican Republic's Osiris Guzman have received 30-day bans and US$360 fines.

The BVI's Aubrey Liburd and the US Virgin Islands' Hillaren Frederick were hit with reprimands and US$360 fines, while Anthony Johnson of St. Kitts and Nevis received a reprimand but no fine.

David Hinds and Mark Forde of Barbados, Richard Groden, secretary of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation, Haiti's Yves Jean-Bart and Jamaican Horace Reid all escaped with warnings.

FIFA said the hearing of Guyana's Noel Adonis had been postponed, while they required more information before they could make a decision on St Lucia's Patrick Mathurin.

Cases against Cayman Islands' David Frederick and Joseph Delves of St. Vincent and the Grenadines were closed since they are no longer officials. FIFA said the cases would be re-opened if the duo were ever elected again.

FIFA's announcement is the latest twist in the scandal that has already claimed several leading CFU and CONCACAF figures and left Caribbean football in turmoil.

Warner was forced to resign as FIFA vice-president and CONCACAF and CFU president at the height of the bribery allegations, while Barbadian Lisle Austin, a senior CONCACAF vice-president who acted as president following Warner's resignation, received a year-long ban from FIFA in August.

Last month, Colin Klass, a senior CFU executive member and perennial head of the Guyana Football Federation, was banned for 26 months and fined for his role in the meeting. —CMC

Its almost 1 month to go b4 our next match so there is no reason why those boys cannot complete what they have to do and come back in time for Guyana match.I suspect they will be on trial for 2 weeks and get a contract or not but it is still hard to understand why those involved in our football will send off some of our best at a time like this.

Bold statement by Otto. I'm not surprised.. in a country that has lost its way. Its like a jungle, survival of the fittest, its about making a dollar above everything else... I understand clubs depend on these transactions to survive, but if Otto is correct, why are our clubs dealing with agents who are not registered or licensed with FIFA? or, are the clubs acting as the agents?

Who is this Dion Sosa fella who was responsible for sending Primus to one of them  .....istan? Can anyone elaborate on that with regards to Mr Sosa's experience, qualifications etc.

We should be ashamed, it took a foreigner, an old washed up German coach to come here and open our eyes.  Otto was pleading to the media to help HIM!  Well boi Otto, it seems like we cyah even help weself.

Surely this is wrong:  "However, truth crushed to the ground will rise again"  Shouldn't that read "raise again"?  :rotfl:

"it is clear that those who recorded the meeting and subsequently made certain that the video went global, are engaged in entrapment" Of course its entrapment. You can't go on for ever pissing people off and expect no revenge. But what Jack fails to point out is that you can't be trapped unless you're doing something wrong. You can't take the moral high ground when you've been caught.

This statement is disgusting. Where's the apology to the citizens of T&T for tarnishing the country all over the world? Any righteous person would apologise, say he made an error of judgement, but for the right reasons, and resign from public life.

Agree with you 100%, but the reality is Jack in not going to make an apology (too late now imo) and the only way he would 'resign' is if the people put pressure on the Government.  This is unlikely to happen since  apathy and indifference is very much alive in T&T. The average citizen will forget about it , the media is too lazy to do what is necessary and have seemingly forgotten their roles in a democratic T&T.

Socapro I had a knee jerk reaction when we lost and starting to cuss but having seen that lil clip we definitely look good on the ball the way we kept possession etc but as yuh say we not finishing.I am going to to put my head on the block and say we would come back and win all remaining matches.I feel this team needs time but we had no friendlies prior to these important matches, yuh cyah expect magic in such situations.

from the lil clip i wouldnt say we not finishing .. i think we just didnt create enough chances. i like what i saw, its a pity we could not have some quality warm up matches

Looking at the tape at one time I said whey we looking like Barcelona with that one touch. Then the final pass and through ball was not there and the ability to create the space to pull the trigher. We need a speedy forward , hopefully jaggy will get a run today. Disappointed Toussant not in the mix. I want to agree with Stern about the quality of ball but in the end goals win matches

From the highlight, a speed forward would not have had a major impact. It looked like the service was designed for KJ. What we needed was a forward who can create space for himself ala Scotland   as Bermuda did well denying entry passes and final balls. They als did well not allowing any runs in behind them - although that maybe attributed to the lack of dynamic movements by the forwards and runs out the midfield.

just from the highlights, i think it had more to do with the fact that they were defending with 9-10 players
As opposed to defending with?

steups ... what I meant elan, is that they were packing players in and around the box...but you know that already

Afternoon showers may have left the surface a bit slick and could have an impact on the Warriors' new found passing game.

Stole this one...

"May our shots be accurate, our touches controlled, and our chemistry poetic; May our offense be aggressive and our defense disciplined; May our minds be focused and our hearts steady; May our bodies be ready for the battle that awaits us and our spirits anxious; But most importantly, May we all play till the very end, till we have nothing left to give the beautiful game we all love." Amen
