I for one don't agree with bringing Yorke back, yes he is a our best play atm but there is a real chance Yorke would be out of competitive football by the time the World Cup comes around.

I will hold off my verdict on Whitley until he could get a game with a competent defensive midfielder an a defence that an attacking player could trust to leave alone while he does his job.

If I was in TnT and could afford to go to the game I probably would go...I think a boycott is taking it too far, fans should not be criticized for attending the game.  I also don't know what sort of message we'll be sending 'big teams' (and by the standards of our opposition, England is as big as we've had in quite some time) if they come to Trinidad to play and then the match isn't well supported...indeed we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot as fans.

This is why I like the idea of attending and showing the silent protest instead.

This is why I like the idea of attending and showing the silent protest instead.

That's the exact reason a boycott would be effective, the bigger the team, the bigger the occasion, the more impact it will have on the TTFF and the media (world and local) to raise awareness that the fans just are not happy. I've been hoping for a long time that the forumites/WN would try to make a stand for the good of T&T football and footballers but seeing some of the responses here, where people are generally more educated with regards to what the TTFF and Mr. Warner does, I can't see where the support will come from.

If you guys are not willing to sacrifice seeing the England team play or even try to make a real effort at bringing attention to the issues that concern the fans then every time there is another blacklist, another TV rights issue or another "ticket or leave it" then all of us needs to just STFU and bend over.

To all the guys who said that they would not join in any kind of action because trini people does only talk and never do nothing, well then i guess that by just making that statement you just made it true. Why not try to make an effort at changing the mentality rather than encouraging it.

I for one will not be attending the game unless there is some sort of effort at expressing our displeasure about what the TTFF stands for, so if we are wearing black (even in de damn hot sun) i'll be there and make sure everyone I know is sweating in de black also. The goal should be to educate people about the problem and even if participation is small this time, at least some more people may come to understand what the protest is about

« on: April 08, 2008, 10:10:01 PM »
i honestly don't think we would have made it to the World Cup without Birchall, it's the same as how Real Madrid were a much better team with Claude but only realized his contribution after he was gone. Right now we don't have a player who can look after the midfield and who recognises when they need to defend and when to push up, I've always hoped Densil would develop into that player but it doesn't look that way

I've read through most of swansea city message boards looking for all the threads i could find on Jason and some of the posters really don't seem to appreciate what he does, especially one idiot who pops up most of the time. On the other hand you have others saying that he's their best player. The only thing i don't like is the general consensus that he's a little lazy.

hard to get very excited about yet another injury comeback , but i hope it works out for him this time, it will be very sad if he keeps getting injured and Sunderland gets relegated and he doesn't get the opportunity to match his skills at that level

Football / Re: Jones is the best prem striker says Roy Keane.
« on: January 18, 2008, 10:01:36 AM »
i think Keane is taking a page page out of Sir Alex's book, Fergie master touting young players by saying they are the best or on the verge of being the best in the world and then after that he get amazing performance out of them. Confidence is a footballers best friend and if a guy has the ability and doesn't believe he does nothing but with the belief that he is better than whoever he is facing then anything is possible.

1. Buffon
2. Casillas
3. Cech

best i've seen, can't rate Cech over Casillas because he usually has an excellent defense in front of him where as Real's defense well.... :busshead:
