Team chemistry was one of their strengths last year. Players griping and taking it to people outside the camp I more concerned about.
Should name those too as that worse.

Is just me or things slipping since the Haiti impasse (or election )

I'm also curious about reports that some players in the team are disgruntled by the way the issue was handled and claims of bias and nepotism.

Maybe it should be directed to the current President who was a Vice President and served previously as Chairman of the Finance Committee.

The current President who lauded praises on JW while he served with him on ExCo and remembers he didn't do anything when $ was being used to fund an election campaign.

The same President who has decided to follow JW's example and use football to further political ambitions.

If he started off with a noble cause fine but that time has passed and he has made a hell of a lot of enemies inclusive of players fed up of instability and self serving administrators.

This is crazy. I can  see TTFA being liable from the time Tim Kee started.  If you did business with  Tim Kee , I  can't see  how he can deny it. But transactions with TTFF, with Camps and the Special Advisor should be directed to those two.

They paying off debts of the TTFF or just the ones they want to or who persistent like Gary Jack?

Maybe someone will close in like before and seize things like the FA Cup trophy or the brand Soca Warriors for non payment or not being the true registered owners.

« on: January 01, 2015, 06:46:45 AM »

Is the TTFA recognizing the debts of the TTFF or hiding behind company registrations when convenient?

They owe Wim $2M and who else are they going to recognise? They have set a precedent with this payment.

If there was transparency as part of this "new" approach with new constitution supported by FIFA and CONCACAF a full list of debts to be cleared should be produced particularly if sponsorship is being sought and government assistance is being provided.

If the TTFA was "hiding behind company registrations when convenient" then they wouldn't have honored the debt owed to the 2006 World Cup players.  Wim breached his contract when he attacked/got into a physical altercation with Lincoln Phillips... according to the previous regime.  In other words, that 'debt' is disputed, unlike the debt owed to Latapy, Charles et al.

I guess Wim attorneys would look at Latapy's team legal submissions and initiate same if TTFA saying they disputing the debt.
Clearly Mendes team got it right because they at least get the TTFA to try and pay.
Look like some kinda court action against "TTFA" is the only way anybody getting paid.

Former ‘Soca Warriors’ coach hoping for payment
T&T Express Reports.

“Part of the process of rebuilding for our football is paying off debts and moving on, and allowing this new coach (Hart), who has been doing a fantastic job, to move on with a clean slate. Without things hanging over his head,” Latapy said.

“I am not the only coach owed by the Federation. Obviously, we have worked for that money and we need to get paid. And that is the same for all the coaches who are in my situation,” he ended

De team played they best game so far, it just wasn't for them, this happens when you fail to make use of your opportunities.

Yes!
Bossing the game early but not taking the opportunities when you have the advantage is a lesson many teams regret they had to learn for these games you don't get back.

It would be tragic if we don't ensure we capitalize on what they have shown we CAN do. Now to do it better is the challenge. They have guts so no doubt they will bounce back and start the fight again.

I real like how they conduct themselves and give them the edge over the men right now. Damn we had them!

They should cut out from the start to the part with the DOT. This is the first minute or so....that is down to the film maker's very inaccurate view in my opinion.

Start from the screen "This is a True Story" and it isn't as revisionist and puts more focus where it should be.

Should show it at the TT Film Festival to get feedback from the public. Or better yet have a local make our own in appreciation hopefully with RBC sponsorship  ;)
Just goes to show how important it is to write your own history otherwise future generations will believe what others say.

...sneaking in two.

Was Wim Rijsbergen suspended by a disciplinary committee for a verbal altercation with Lincoln Phillips while Mr Tim Kee was a Vice President at the Federation in 2007?

How has the TTFA decided which debts of the TTFF it recognises as it has recognized a debt to former coach Latapy but has not acknowledged or let the public know there is ~$2 million TT outstanding to Wim as a direct result of the suspension from Lincoln Phillip's report to the TTFF executive and their resulting efforts to discipline Wim for abusing Lincoln?

All those things are fine so maybe the word intervention can be replaced with assistance to avoid misunderstanding.

Maybe some foreign governments can volunteer their services as part of reparations.

So maybe we should ask the UK to recolonise us and all the other developing democracies that show any signs of struggling with attaining desired goals of developed nation status. Or maybe another coup and implement middle east governance. Both treasonous suggestions.

We are doing a lot better than many and societal uproar over perceived poor governance is healthy. Speaking up and discovery of misbehaviour in office is as high as it has ever been. Time will tell if this will propagate to the next administration or whether this was in large part a function of well placed political allegiance and a brilliant political propaganda machine amplifying actual misbehaviour.

Hopefully it is our new trend as there was similar outcry during the previous administration and has grown so we should be hoping for MORE discovery if we are willing to admit there has always been a gap for measures to keep politicians and their appointees in check. Putting those measures in place are what politicans should be selling to us that we hold them accountable for at elections....take note of recent election results inclusive of the one removing the previous administration.

If people were doing the same whistle blowing for violent crime maybe our detection rate would not seem to be nonexistent. Protection of witnesses is a must and for that to happen trial durations have to decrease significantly because it only have so many places to hide in our small islands.

The only help we should be looking for from outside are from joint ventures, treaties or extraditions done with respect for our sovereignty in mind which means it is initiated by us where as the word intervention suggests an attack on our democracy. No thanks to that. If a crime goes across borders then by all means leverage all benefits from those countries to seek justice.

Hard to feel sorry for any claim of injustice brought forward when we suffered same without apology or punishment. Basically has little moral ground.

People generally do not separate the message from the messenger.....very rarely and usually takes enormous effort depending on the extent of the bias that exists.

trini real immature as a nation boy. I understand we don't like abu bakr and the muslimeen...for very good reason. but never I hear anybody say yes I don't like person A, BUT, I  love justice more, so I will say something for injustice even if is for somebody I don't like.
now so much favoritism involved in the application of justice that it is always thrown around that 'we' doh get no justice b/c they don't like we.
One working definition of intelligence is the ability to hold 2 seemingly contradictory ideas in your head and still proceed logically.  maybe we jus lacking intelligence. but I for one fed up of hearing people talk shit and keep the country backward.

Interested to hear details on how they handled it.

Trinidad Express
Vision Airlines to begin service to and from T&T
Story Updated: Oct 4, 2013

Amral’s Travel has announced that TravelSpan Vacations and Vision Airlines have been granted approval by the Government and the United States Department of Transportation to begin nonstop services to and from Trinidad, New York and Guyana, using a wide-body Boeing 767 aircraft from December.

Amral’s Travel and TravelSpan have been serving these markets for over 47 years, the company said in a statement.

Vision Airlines brings over 20 years of aviation expertise, along with a fleet of three 767s, three 737s and several Dornier 328 aircraft, the company said.

The proposed flights will depart Piarco International Airport for New York on Tuesdays and Fridays, with additional flights for the peak season.

Schedule and fares are currently available either on-line at www.amralstravel.com or by calling any Amral’s Travel office.

I just fly with United and is $25 for a checked piece each way.

Imagine flights on CAL to MIA averaging $600+ for the next 2 months with AA around $400. Even if you pay for 2 bags both ways is still less.

CAL prices went up long enough before the budget so Howai could say fares not going up  :bs:
The tickets ridiculous and they higher than everyone else for NYC too.

Sad as I want to be loyal but hard to justify spending that much more. $600 when it was $3xx last year.

Would be interesting to compare the number of homes in T&T that have internet now compared to 7 years ago.
Would also like to know if there has been any change in the ratio of local based to foreign based posters on this board.

It takes people on the ground here dedicating their time as well as some positives in the football itself.

A lot can be done in collaboration with the TTFA but WN should stay independent even if some sort of affiliation is agreed to.

The schools are a good place to focus on. Benefits would be getting players to go to the school and speak to them, put on some one time clinics to get the youths in the company of professional players and get enthusiasm going. This can be done at community level as well.

We have a framework in place so we're not starting from scratch. Right now the TTFA would probably say yes to any reasonably organised proposal taken to them on fan based initiatives. Building back confidence in the sport and the organisation should be one of their main objectives and not just ticket sales.
