Dwight keep playing that 'holding-midfield position'. When you have twenty plus games in the season remain, that fine but WC semi-final rounds, they are three games left. I guess we playing for draw in the next three games.

In my opinion the best T&T team ever was based on a nucleus that centered around

                        NAKHID

ROUGIER            LATAPY      DWARIKA

                       YORKE

Put Rougier in de back and let Eve run de wing...

look side here

------------------Shaka---------------------
Rougier------Dog-----------Tallest---------Elcock
-------Eve--------Nakhid---------Dwarika----
------------------Latapy--------------------
------------Stern----------Yorke--------------

Big side dat.... had they downsides though... thais why we coulda play allover mexico with style and still collect 4!

FF alike this side

Rene Simoes fired as coach of Jamaica soccer team
Sep 11, 8:06 pm EDT

Buzz Up PrintKINGSTON, Jamaica (AP)—Rene Simoes was fired Thursday as coach of Jamaica’s soccer team following a slow start in the semifinal round of World Cup qualifying.

Jamaica tied Canada 1-1, lost to Mexico and dropped a 2-0 decision at Honduras on Wednesday, although the Reggae Boyz play their final three games at home.

Simoes was nine months into a three-year contract. The Jamaica Football Federation said it had “severed ties with Simoes and his Brazilian staff.”

He led Jamaica to its first World Cup appearance in 1998, then resigned in 2000 after six years as technical director. He returned in January to succeed Bora Milutinovic, who was fired for breach of contract.

Mexico (3-0) leads Group Two with nine points, followed by Honduras (2-1) with six, and Canada and Jamaica (both 0-2-1) with one apiece. The top two nations advance to next year’s finals of North and Central America and the Caribbean.

Jamaica hosts Mexico on Oct. 11, Honduras on Oct. 15 and Canada on Oct. 19, needing to win all three to have any chance of advancing

Jack vs Roy
War of words intensifies
AFP
Saturday, September 13, 2008

LONDON, England (AFP) - The controversy between Sunderland manager Roy Keane and Jack Warner took a new twist yesterday with a letter from the FIFA vice-president hitting out at the former Manchester United star.

Keane was initially angered by Warner's criticism when Sunderland striker Dwight Yorke withdrew from Trinidad and Tobago's World Cup match against the United States two days ago, with reports saying Keane had a lot to do with the player's decision.

But Keane hit back to say: "Yorke is retired. I've told Jack what I think of him and where to go. He's a clown, a disgrace."

The Sunderland boss said of Warner, a special advisor to the Trinidad and Tobago FA: "If he is vice-president of FIFA, then God help us", and suggested he wrote letters on FIFA-headed writing paper "just to impress everybody".

Now Warner has retaliated with a new letter attacking Keane - and criticising the Irishman's own conduct in walking out on the Republic of Ireland before the 2002 World Cup.

Yesterday's letter, which was seen by the British Press Association, said: "The disrespectful tone of your reported comments further demonstrates the total disrespect that you and others of your ilk have generally for players and officials from 'small' countries.

"It is obviously difficult for you to accept the fact that someone from a 'small' country could rise to become a vice-president of FIFA.

"I chose to respond on a FIFA letter-head because that is a privilege afforded me owing to my said status and the fact that your callousness showed utter disregard for FIFA's regulations regarding the release of players for international duty. Regrettably, but not surprisingly, you did not grasp the message.

"In closing, may I remind you that a player's greatest honour is to represent his country in spite of the fact that you chose to walk away from yours during the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup after publicly abusing your manager... indictment that you will no doubt be proud of up to today. Poor Sunderland."

Trinidad and Tobago are back on track after coming perilously close to tumbling out of qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. Losing the first leg of their pre-qualifying series to Bermuda on home soil, the Germany 2006 finalists were forced to contemplate a disastrous early exit.

However, goals from Darryl Roberts and Stern John in Prospect saw the Soca Warriors steady their ship and limp into the first group stage of qualifying from North, Central America and the Caribbean. A 3-1 win over Cuba in their first Group game now has the Caribbean side edging the USA for top spot on goal difference, while spurring a jump of ten places up the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.

Moving from 102nd to 92nd this month, the island side are finding a foothold even with their fair share of recent hardship. New coach Francisco ‘Pacho' Maturana, who took over from former boss Leo Beenhakker in February, has had to make do without the services of Sunderland ace Kenwyne Jones, who injured knee ligaments in a June friendly loss to England.

The Colombian boss has also been without Jones' Sunderland teammate and T&T's greatest-ever player, Dwight Yorke. After he fractured his cheekbone, the former Manchester United man's July pledge to return from international retirement and help the team in their qualifiers has proven a tough one to keep.

One of the men who has stepped into the void left by the dual injury blow is Keon Daniel, two-goal hero of T&T's recent 3-1 win over the Cubans in Havana. "We really wanted those three points against Cuba," said the United Petrotrin man and former U-20 international, recently linked with a move to England. "Now we just need to take heart from the progress we showed in that game and keep moving forward."

Guatemala test
Their next test will come against Guatemala in Port of Spain on 6 September. The Chapines are eight places behind T&T in the global standings (two behind them in the CONCACAF zone), and smarting from a slim 1-0 loss to the USA in their first group-stage qualifier.

Although the Central Americans will be out for blood against the Caribbean hopefuls, Cornell Glen - who also scored against the Cubans - is keen for the side to keep up the progress.

"The win over Cuba is the perfect start for us as we look ahead to our games with Guatemala and then the USA," the San Juan Jabloteh forward said. "Getting points on the road in our opener is a terrific boon for our confidence and we will just need to keep it up."

With sturdy recent performances in defence from Dennis Lawrence, Avery John and Clyde Leon, the Soca Warriors are firing on all cylinders even without their key injured pair. Maturana is hoping they can ride their current upswing in form further up the world ranking, and all the way to a second straight world finals in South Africa in 2010.

My hating for Argentina go back to the 78 world cup(Arg vs Peru and Arg vs Holland). However, they play some of the best football around. When most teams lose a game, they can point to many different mistakes in the game. When Argentina lose is one thing not scoring the many chances.
