Football / Re: Stats don't lie! Stern John 2005 vs Kenwyne Jones 2009
« on: September 10, 2009, 12:42:57 AM »
this is not even call for KJ is just 24 and no means what Stern John was for our country i mean come on he is our Legendary Striker 69 goals why compare him with KJ? who have 4? i think KJ will be 28 next time around i think he would be much better with more experience and some more skills and determination...

That's the Spirit d Boss!

W/e guys KJ eh score again he still had a good game tonite it was an improvement... I hoping KJ have a great year in the EPL if he was so much shit and just size he wouldn't be demanding 20+mil from ppl so stop talking all that shit...

I share the same sentiments! Anyway KJ use all this small talk tuh better yuh situation & continue to make a very very comfortable level of livin fuh yuhself & yuh family bigman!!

Ps yes stats doh lie but paper doh lie too...ah wuh allyuh compare KJ  paper tuh SJ own too...cuz ah cyar understand how allyuh only fightin down d man so ras...d man style of play as ah forward really doh suit TnT but is not he fault d coach ask him tuh play that role and it not workin out fuh d best...coachman hatta see that and tweak things a lil to help him to succeed...cuz whether allyuh like it or not d man is d present & future of TnT ball..Anyway KJ go back tuh yuh niche hoss & continue to bang dem een fuh yuh team...blessings!

Who was on the team and what was the order? Surprised we got 3rd. We were in i think 6th before the stream went.

I think it was Bledman on the 1st leg, Burns on the 2nd, Callander on the 3rd and Thompson on the 4th!

Bledman obviously come in for Brown who now injured again and need some sort ah serious bush bath to help stop all these regular injuries!

Yeah we passing was real sloppy but RT ran a good final leg to bring us from 4th into 3rd and Bolt did a great final leg to bring Ja from 2nd behind USA into 1st! Bolt even turn and laugh at the USA runner when he pass him to cross the line 1st, the man is ah real star yes!!  8)

well he make muh day with dah one....so i laff! And Spearmon talkin bout is he fault like if he had ah chance...dat was inevitable lol

Football / Re: Yorke in doubt for El Salvador qualifier.
« on: August 06, 2009, 10:22:17 PM »
ah wonder why they unclear about if yorke playing or not?  If is because he not fit that is inexcusable in my book.  I sure if Yorke was interested he could have made arrangements to train with clubs in England or he could have joined a PFL team like Latapy did to keep fit.

What kinda example is that fuh de captain to set fuh de team?

But I jus speculating because they didn't give a reason why they are unclear about his role fuh de match so I go jus wait until they say something.  If they ever give ah reason.

LOL allyuh boy does kill me yes  ... a man have an obligation to his own livelihood to sort out his own future not to satisfy the expectations of a few fckle supporters of a horribly managed national team...... Until the entire scenario is known man should just chill ....is not like the man was still at a club he was released in a sense "unemployed" ..... leave the man let him sort out his future because at the end of the day if this team doh qualify I know none of allyuh going to send Yorke  (or any other national players a check to help them out) People concern does extend as far as the next game ...

Well said Sir!  :beermug: :beermug:

I eh lying ppl, i don't know how clyde leon made the national team and stuck around for so long! the yute real cluelessssssss dread, he doh know what to do with the ball period! the fella lost as ah dog in the rain, just plain ole cluelesssss!!

I asked myself the same thing?  How did Leon make the national team?

allyuh cool nah man...d man recently had ah surgery..give d man time tuh ketch he length nah...not everybody is ah tank like Essien or Eto'o..way right off d bat dey back inform! This does happen in sports...anyway d man is a quality player & part of we future...like it or not...so go easy nah...bless!
Nonesense breezers!! surgery or no surgery, the man have no touches, no speed no ball sense, lost dazed and confused , and he playing so since pancho was in charge.

ok coachy! It's clear u hav more insight than qualified coaches....u kno off d bat who's hot & who's not!! Pancho is ah goat..Fevrier is ah goat as well as Latas....doh fraid to add tuh d list!
@least yuh have ah lil sense and yuh recognize!! :justkidding: on the real thouigh fella, i think yuh got ah lil emotional on me, and that's never good for proving a point.

now! i never said fevrier was ah goat, don't even know the man! as for pancho , he is ah forkin stinkin goat that's true! :puking:

latas, now here's a guy that i like, both as a player and ah coach, but here's my problem with this guy, he seems tuh suffer from the same sickness most local coaches suffer from, and that is favoritism!

when pancho was sacked and latas installed i was making cartwheels, but then as soon as the fella took to the job he started doing just what anton was doing.  pickin his former team national mates and fellas who play in the pro league and ignoring certin players.

players like julius james , nigel daniels, jaggy, roberts , sancho, scott sealy, now these fellas in damn good players and i'm puzzled as to why they weren't even given ah chance to audition, and that's my problemo with mr magician, and nothing more, as ah matter of fact, i find him to be an extremely capable coach.

as for clyde, the main character of the disscourse, the man eh able with national duty king! i saw homes ah few times and i'm still scracting my head in bewilderment! this guy is not national team material, so please don't endorse him, BC he sucks!! before and after surgery!

allyuh does rell make me laff yes...ah eh kno why ah budderin eh but 1st off it eh hav nuttin tuh do wid emotions fella...i call it as ah see it! And allyuh does only talk fuh talkin sake...i believe man like sancho and others should play too but on the other hand ah eh callin no name but one of the fellas yuh mention get he chance tuh show he worth in ah pass practice session and askin man bout when tuh tackle....yuh feel he ready fuh international ball...dais d kinda national material yuh lookin for? lol. But anyway ah wouldn't take the low road like u and shine him up like that...instead ah hope he better heself & be of service tuh he country in d future. On the other hand common sense go tell yuh that is obvious for a coach tuh choose the fellas he think could get the job done...so Im not sayin it's right but it's normal in the world of football for a coach tuh lean towards type A player at the expense of type B...so coach within yuh means & continue to be d gaffer of yuh fantasy league team...cuz i cyar understand..who is u tuh say ah man is not national material...lol. Like allyuh does fuhget is d SW and not Brazil & Argentina we talkin bout...we options limited...so we have tuh use wuh we have...

Glen looked real sharp....he was lively up front for most parts of the game & he had some decent attempts on frame...if wasnt for some good saves made by Keller..he could have scored either a hattrick or a brace....he didnt even play the full 90 mins too....so all in all was ah good shift. He even got the man of the match on Telemundo lol....so it would relly be nice to see him start against ES

Russell Latapy has a chance to make history, being the first player-coach to appear in a world cup.  The oldest man to play in a world cup was Roger Miller. Russell is rated in the caribbean as one of the best players, yet still he only had a couple minutes on one of the biggest stage in the world.  I would love to see Latapy lead T&T to the 2010 world cup, score a goal, and become the first ever in world cup history to score a goal as a player coach.  Go Latas, Go!!!!!!!

IMO i believe that Latas not interested in playin again...(which is not the best thing for we right now). He passion is coachin and he lookin tuh lead the team from dat domain instead of on d pitch. Becuz i was dey in TN hopin he get ah lil cameo and supply some air tuh we deflated outfit on that sad day...but when it didnt happen..ah realize that d days fuh we tuh be dependant on d lil magicain to pull we out of d rot is no more..Ah honestly would like to see him prove meh wrong doh!

ANYWAY GO LATAS & SOCA WARRIORS...BEAT PPL!!

Bruce appointed at Sunderland on three-year deal
By Soccernet staff

June 3, 2009

Sunderland have agreed a deal for Wigan boss Steve Bruce and confirmed that the former Latics boss has signed a three-year deal at the club.

Bruce and his advisors have been on Wearside over the last two days after holding talks with chairman Niall Quinn in Ireland, and now the deal has been agreed.

After completing the prolonged negotiations, chairman Niall Quinn expressed his delight on the club's official website: "Steve will bring a professionalism and strength of character to this club that will really help to bring us forward to where we all want to be,'' he said.

''He knows more than anyone what football means to people of this region and I'm confident that he will be able to instill into our players exactly what it means to play for this football club."

The club agreed a compensation package with the 48-year-old's current club, Wigan, on Monday and it is understood Sunderland will pay the Latics less than the £3m chairman Dave Whelan was demanding at the weekend.

Bruce will be joined by his coaching team of Eric Black, Nigel Spink and ex-Sunderland striker Keith Bertschin.

That would have implications for the staff put together by his former Manchester United team-mate Roy Keane.

However, Ricky Sbragia has been promised a job for life at the club by Quinn after stepping in to plug the gap left by Keane when he resigned in December.

The chairman hinted in the wake of Sbragia's decision to stand down as manager after the final game of the season that the Scot's future role could be in the area of player recruitment.

That too will be one of Bruce's first concerns as he attempts to build a side capable of challenging for the Premier League's top 10 after a disappointing second campaign back in the top flight.

The Wearsiders survived by just two points and won only nine games despite investing almost £80m in their squad in the two years since they won promotion.

New owner Ellis Short has promised to bankroll another recruitment drive, but is insisting on value for money.

The club has already been linked with moves for Tottenham striker Darren Bent and Wigan's Titus Bramble, Antonio Valencia and Paul Scharner.

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan feels "devastated'' by the departure of his manager.

"Everyone associated with Wigan is devastated that Steve and Eric have gone, we would be lying if we said any different,'' said Whelan. "But things can change very quickly and I have always said I would not stand in anyone's way who wishes to leave the club, as long as the terms are in the best interest of Wigan.

"What Steve has achieved here over the past 18 months has been magnificent. After a period of instability, he put the team in order and started laying the foundations for a prosperous future.

"We finished in our second-highest ever league position this season and this is something we will be looking to build upon going forward.''

Whelan's most important job now is to get the right man to take over.

He has already approached Swansea to speak to their highly-rated manager Roberto Martinez but was taken aback by the £2million-plus compensation fee demanded by the south Wales club.

However, that does not mean Whelan, a successful businessman, will not negotiate hard if he feels the Spaniard is the best candidate.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins admits the two parties are "miles apart'' in their valuation of the 35-year-old former Wigan player.

"Wigan asked for permission to speak to Roberto. They asked what compensation we would be looking for and we talked about different figures,'' he told the Press Association.

"I told them what I valued Roberto at and they told me what they thought - we were miles apart to say the least.

"I have not given them permission to talk to Roberto.''

Other names being linked to the vacancy include Peterborough's Darren Ferguson, who has just guided his side to promotion from League One, and former manager Paul Jewell.

Whelan hopes to be able to make inroads in his search over the next week but is conscious he cannot afford to get it wrong - as he did when he promoted Chris Hutchings from within when Jewell quit in May 2007.

"As for a new manager, we have several options to consider and we will be talking to clubs and candidates over the next seven days,'' added the Wigan chairman.

"We will not rush the appointment as it is a decision not to be taken lightly.''

Veteran goalkeeper Mike Pollitt, who signed a new one-year contract last week, admits the loss of Bruce - and his backroom staff - is a huge blow.

"It's disappointing that the gaffer is going after what he's done here but I suppose when someone is offered a job like that with the promise of a lot of money to spend, then they have to take it,'' he said.

"I'll be sad to see him go. Life goes on though and now it will be interesting to see who comes in.''

Pollitt would welcome the return of Jewell, whom he played under previously at the club, but admits someone like Martinez could shake things up.

"I got on well with Paul here the first time and I think he'd do a good job,'' he told the Wigan Evening Post. "Roberto Martinez would be an interesting one, totally different to what we've had before. He's had Swansea playing with a bit of Spanish flair and likes good football.''

Ah does like to see when so called wold best defenders get skin out.

Small Mag, I thought Ferdinand and Vidic was going and keep Barca quiet becuase all yuh have all the formations and Barca only have one.

When Vidic eat ah nice cut from Eto'o to score

Too bad Henry eh score to complete ah best move that had the wold's best defender break dancing.

Fuh Real Eh!! IMO dem fellaz is decent defenders but nuttin special....all ah dem edible as we saw...Rio by Vidic by Evra..lol. I still find it disrespecting to think dat dem food could stop d most lethal strike force in the world! I does still laff at the notion that Evra could stop Messi...that's simply ridiculous..lol

149
Allyuh tink Eto'o would perform de same way if he was at Chelsea?

How about Drogba at Barca?

Drogba at Arsenal?

Eto'o benifits tremendously from the team he is playing with.

He is NOT the main scoring threat on his team.  Henry, Messi, with Xavi & Iniesta providing service.  Eto'o is a great player no doubt....but he GREATLY benefits from the supporting cast around him.  His supporting cast is the best in football as was conculsively shown this past Wednesday.

I doh understand your point...

At this level, every top forward benefits from his supporting cast. Doesn't every top forward mentioned here count on support from world class players? Why wouldn't he perform the same way at Chelsea? As long as he can adapt to English football, a great player is a great player, and I don't think there's any doubt that Eto'o is one.

Dont get it twisted. Eto'o been bussin de net since he was at Mallorca.

Furthermore, you go on to say that Eto'o is not the main scoring threat on his team.

So how de ass he top de scoring charts ???

Well said Dinho!!! I agree 100%
