Well we all knew coming into this competition without our full strength team was going to leave us at a disadvantage. Let's hope that by grooming these guys now we will learn enough in time for when world cup qualifying begins next year.
Oh and I am sure everyone in this forum knows that confidence is a big part of football. And the lack of shooting and poor defending shows clearly that we are lacking in confidence. Guys like Spann, Glasgow and Theobald who played alongside Yorkie and Latas and the world cup players, will already have developed a certain level of confidence in international football. THAT is one of the major rerasons why the team needs to have a few foreign players to raise the youger players to a confident level.
Oh and I am sure everyone in this forum knows that confidence is a big part of football. And the lack of shooting and poor defending shows clearly that we are lacking in confidence. I might not be a great Goal Scorer like Stern but I do believe that Striker means yuh have to strike de ball with intent of scoring goals......kinda like de serious intention Cornell had everytime he step onto de field.

Remember that Ericksson is Swedish!!! As long as they don't lose to Sweden he will be satisying both sides. The draw allows his country to go through and allows England to top the group.

None of us will ever figure out what Leo see in Theobald. Â But I know one thing......In the 5 + minutes that Wise was on he showed that he is much more of a danger than Denzil and we would need a player of his skill level against Paraguay. Â
I agree with Beenie bringing Cornell of the bench, because his burst of energy usually catches the oppostion of guard.
I for one am proud of the effort Stern put in today....that was the hardest I have seen him work in any international game to date.
Kenwyne did well but was not much of and attacking threat and I am thinking it is time Jason Scotland, who has a deadly shot with both feet, be given a chance.
And I agree that Birchall wasn't in the game much and it may be time for Latas. And because it is our next game is our most crucial game, he is definitely going to play Latapy.......1) It is a must win and we need the Little Magician to create goal scoring chances 2)If we don't win it is the end of the road for us, therefore Don Leo would want our most talented player ever to grace the field at least once in the tournament

What a lot of people fail to realize is that Beenie is the BOSS. Â He knows what he wants from his players....and there is no doubt in my mind that there is a reason he played Stern as de lone striker against Sweden. Â Don't you think Beenie knows enough about players to know what their capabilities are? Â He knows Stern is not a 'run at the defender' type of striker, while Cornell and Kenwyne are.
But he wants someone up front who plays the holding role so the defenders have a target man to clear the ball to and the midfield and other strikers(Cornell when he came on), can be fed by Stern.
When the opportunity shows itself, he will put it away!!!

I know Stern is aware that supporters was vex when he wasn't doing anything in the qualifiers and getting caught offside over and over again. So when he started to score he cursed and justiculated at everyone who thought he should get sub.
OK. So it is established that he is our main striker and we need him to score goals for us. What I am wondering though is whether Stern or any other players does come on the Soca Warriors website nad read dese posts. Ah mean de man does be offside about 10 times in one game!!! Ah doh mine missing chances as long as yuh score de one or two of chances. But de man always standin up, always getting catch offside and will probably go down as the laziest striker in the 2006 world cup.
Looking at strikers at the international level, you see dem running around constantly. With Stern standing around it easy for the oppostion defense to read him.
Lawd.....It eh have nobody who know de man personally to tell him to wake up...GEEEZZZZ!!!!

I always expected us to have the least in numbers inside the stadium, and thats purely to do with accessibility of tickets that were allocated. It would be interesting to know how many Trini's are actually travelling to Germany from Trinidad. But whether 2,000 or 20,000, we gonna make noise.

With FIFA attempting to make the allocation of tickets to the games fair, do you forumites believe that there will be an even distribution of Support for the Soca Warriors versus the Swedes? Or do you think that because their population is greater that it is obvious that they were allocated significantly more than our supporters?

Jack...Jack is way more agile than Shaka. Â I am not to fond of the mistakes he makes, nut with shots coming in regularly we need someone with agility.
Sancho...In all seriousness, we need someone with skill and pace at the back. Â Dog just not cuttin it for me. Â He cyar control de ball properly. Â He so slow he does look like he running backwards. Â Dat might work in Concacaf but not in de World Cup.
Gray...Cyd a little wild on de tackles but he handlin his position de best out of all our defenders. Â And he also has speed. Â Which will be very important against the European game.
Lawrence...While Dennis a little slow too, he quicker than Dog and his confidence on de ball has grown alot. Â And while we need quick men in defense, we do need someone with height in the defense.
A.John...Being de only natural left footed defender we have Avery position somewhat safe. Â Although he has been looking very ordinary of late. Â hopefully he can get it together come Saturday.
Latapy...I don't care what ppl say about de man can't last for 90 minutes. Â In case it is not obvious to some, when Latapy not in the game we have no ideas when it come to going forward. Â Who cares if the opposition try to mark him out. Â At least they will have something to do besides attack us all game long. Â Is not Bahrain we playin ppl !!!! Dis is top class opposition. Â Yuh have to play yuh best players. Â We eh call him de Little Magician for nothing yuh know. Â Beenie give him enough rest for de war he about embark on!!! Yorke...Well de captain pick himself. Â Ah put Birchall on the bench because his roll is similar to dwight role, except he younger and could run a lot longer. Â Same as for Latas when Dwight get tired then Birchall will get a sweat. Â I know what some people thinkin...BUT DE MAN HAVE A NICE SHOT....Alright I agree, but we cyar be bankin on de man scoring from outside dey in every game. Samuel...This one was tough bcz Samuel playin with alot of heart these days. Â He surprise everybody with his play. Â However, the trickery of Evans is a bonus for us. Â Plus his crossing ability is much better than Collin's.
S.John...Still our best and main striker!!! Â Before the game we all need to say a prayer not just for de team but for Stern John in particular. Â We shall pray that out of all the chances that he will undoubtedly get during the course of the game, that he does his country proud and score at least 2 of them. If he doesn't bring his scoring boots we have a very talented replacement in Jason Scotland. Â De man could shoot some dread bullet with either foot and with the whole of Scotland chanting his name he may be an inspired surprise to the World!!!

Jack...Jack is way more agile than Shaka. Â I am not to fond of the mistakes he makes, nut with shots coming in regularly we need someone with agility.
Sancho...In all seriousness, we need someone with skill and pace at the back. Â Dog just not cuttin it for me. Â He cyar control de ball properly. Â He so slow he does look like he running backwards. Â Dat might work in Concacaf but not in de World Cup.
Gray...Cyd a little wild on de tackles but he handlin his position de best out of all our defenders. Â And he also has speed. Â Which will be very important against the European game.
Lawrence...While Dennis a little slow too, he quicker than Dog and his confidence on de ball has grown alot. Â And while we need quick men in defense, we do need someone with height in the defense.
A.John...Being de only natural left footed defender we have Avery position somewhat safe. Â Although he has been looking very ordinary of late. Â hopefully he can get it together come Saturday.
Latapy...I don't care what ppl say about de man can't last for 90 minutes. Â In case it is not obvious to some, when Latapy not in the game we have no ideas when it come to going forward. Â Who cares if the opposition try to mark him out. Â At least they will have something to do besides attack us all game long. Â Is not Bahrain we playin ppl !!!! Dis is top class opposition. Â Yuh have to play yuh best players. Â We eh call him de Little Magician for nothing yuh know. Â Beenie give him enough rest for de war he about embark on!!! Â After we give Sweden hell in de first half and part of the second, then yuh could put Whitley on, not the other way around.
Yorke...Well de captain pick himself. Â Ah put Birchall on the bench because his roll is similar to dwight role, except he younger and could run a lot longer. Â Same as for Latas when Dwight get tired then Birchall will get a sweat. Â I know what some people thinkin...BUT DE MAN HAVE A NICE SHOT....Alright I agree, but we cyar be bankin on de man scoring from outside dey in every game. Â And this ball winner ting ppl talkin bout...I ent see dat yet...he does run around plenty but I never see him steal de ball form nobody in the last 2 games.
Edwards...Carlos pick heself too. Â Talent for days, as long as he know when to cross de ball and when to dribble.
Jones...Kenwyne behind Stern. Â Unlike Stern Kenwyne not afraid to take on defenders bcz he has skill and size. Â His replacement is Cornell another man who does run at defenders. Â These 2 guys could take de ball from midfield and run that is why dey could play behind de main striker.
Samuel...This one was tough bcz Samuel playin with alot of heart these days. Â He surprise everybody with his play. Â However, the trickery of Evans is a bonus for us. Â Plus his crossing ability is much better than Collin's.
S.John...Still our best and main striker!!! Â Before the game we all need to say a prayer not just for de team but for Stern John in particular. Â We shall pray that out of all the chances that he will undoubtedly get during the course of the game, that he does his country proud and score at least 2 of them. The day we go through the first half of a game without conceding a goal.....whatever team that is, (I don't care what their rankin) in REAL trouble. Bcz our confidence will grow from not giving away a tame gift goal to the opposition!!!
