Football / We need to follow Japan's footsteps
« on: June 22, 2005, 09:14:03 PM »
Fellas,
I know y'all saw the Brazil Japan game. And although Brazil had 60% of the possession, a dozen more chances, and looked more dangerous, Japan held their own and managed to get a very respectable draw.
I think we should try to emulate Japan, and play their Brazilian style.
From what I have seen in the Mexico game, we seem to be heading in this direction, trying to keep possession with shorter passes in the midfield and maintaining a good structure and formation for the entire 90 mins.
Gone are the days when supposedly "weaker" teams simply succumb to their highly touted counterparts.
In other words, if we were to play Brazil, we should strive to win like Japan did today.
The only difference I saw between us and Japan is the speed and skill of their forwards and a creative midfielder in Nakata.
Let's follow Japan's example

Football / Greatest player ever?
« on: June 19, 2005, 10:39:41 PM »
Dear Forumites,
My last post in the Brazil-Mexico thread has me thinking about who is the greatest player that I have ever seen.
Many say Pele but unfortunately i am not old enough to have witnessed his majestic abilities.
I am torn between Maradona, Ronaldinho and Pre-injury Ronaldo.
Just wanted to know some of your opinions.
