You bring a smile to my face with that Stern John memory.

All those who putting Keon in th middle with Boucaud, Keon Daniel cah play in the middle without another centre mid covering for him. If he's playing he needs freedom to create.

And like palos forgetting that Theobold's carelessness led directly to goal #2 against Haiti. Despite that, i would gie him a bligh. He has a chip on his shoulder and should come out with some intensity

Touches beat me to the punch. Dwight left mid-tournament when we were rolling and made it to the semis I believe. I saw some posters refer to that team as the best T&T team ever.

Hyland is valuable because he is a physical ball winner. Boucaud is as well, but I think we benefitted from having two of these guys on the field at the same time. I think Birchall played a similar role in the World Cup, but not sure where his form or fitness is these days.

Have a sinking feeling that number 18 will be asked to the fill the role. The sad thing is that he is neither physical, nor good in possession. Seems to me like he is short of confidence and tries to play the ball off so quickly that he gives it away a lot.

Either way, we could poison this Mexico side with a strong effort and a little bit of luck.

noize,

Bouchard is actually Boucaud. He deserves a little better after the solid shift he put in last night. And putting Keon Daniel in the middle without another defensive mid is asking for trouble

Amazing how we could all watch the same game and see different things.

To me Carlos was excellent, particularly in the mid second half when we had sustained pressure and created a few chances. I thought Hyland was critical to us retaining possession, although he wasn't great connecting his through balls, and Bleeder was more than adequate.

JC doh take any of the talk personally. Yuh sound liek yuh real takin it on

Concur with most of the statements in this thread. From an in-stadium view, KJ was beastin' last night. I didn't think that Bleeder was as bad as some have made him out to be and looked neat in possession at times.

Best game I've seen from KJ, Keon Daniel and Hyland.

And Hoyte was nice too...

Saw "Dark Knight Rises"... good flick.  Still think "The Dark Knight" was much better... but this was also excellent.

Saw "Total Recall"... too bad it can't be totally recalled.  Waste ah time movie.  Had its moments, but I rate it merely enjoyable, as opposed to being good.

I thoroughly enjoy Dark Knight Rises last night... I think even more than TDK... but I haven't seen that in a while.

I thin it was better than Avengers

Boss, you thinkin just like me. I think it was better than both prior Batman movies and the Avengers, and I say this having loved all three. I liek that Batman was the focus here. TDK, while great, was more of a "Joker featuring batman" movie. I thought this one had more dire consequences, which I liked and thought Bane was a scarier proposition than Joker (not a better villain, just scarier).

But both had me on the edge of my seat. Literally

Look nah, this man was right up there with them yes.  He just hit he wall sooner than the rest..with some proper conditioning and what I feel is disclipine he had a freaking medal yes.

I eh feel Gatlin more talented than he is...just more committed.

Richard Thompson if you reading this..re-dedicate yuhself.

You can still accomplish much.steups..allyuh look at that race again, if the man had more conditioning he make that podium!~

Meh boy already have 2 silver medals at the olympics partner. He already has accomplished VERY much. If you meant much more, then I echo that sentiment.

STAT and Melo are both black holes on the floor. Add in a PG that needs the ball in his hands and that is a recipe for disaster. The Knicks played their best ball when it was Lin, Shumpert, Tyson and Fields getting most of the run. I don't care if ppl make the argument that their opposition was weak, they were losing to those same caliber teams before that.

Melo is a phenomenal talent, but just CANNOT play in a team environment. That shit works in college, but in the pros, one man eh beating yuh. The only man who can play without the ball in NY is Chandler. If I were them, I lining up a trade of Melo for Kidd-Gilchrist plus a couple first round picks, which from Charlotte could potentially be lottery picks.

Imagine a line-up of Lin, Schumpert, Kidd-Gilchrist, Stat and Chandler. Plenty more potential than the current crop and yuh have potential franchise players in future draft picks. Bring back D'Antoni too.

i curious to know what balotelli told him after scoring...hart was trying to psych ppl out but he did not like he was trying to save crap.

on another note Bakes, what u think about milner?  England doesnt have any better options?

Dred you musse miss the post where I was wondering how the hell he still starting fuh England.  De man slow and lacking for skills... no way you could convince me he starting ahead of Walcott... limitations in Theo's game and all.  Theo need steady run... unfair to expect that youth to produce the minute he steps in the pitch, which is precisely how they've been using him his whole career (both Arsenal and England).  At least there is better quality around him on the club... what is Capello and Roy story?

I think Milner provides experience and toughness to a City team that has more than its share of prima donnas... but Englad full ah players like that in midfield already... he surplus to requirement.  It tells the tale the fact that his replacement was Jordan Henderson in that match.  That's what English fans have to look forward to... lol.

yeah i didnt understand why walcott wasnt starting ahead of milner, i assumed they saw walcott as being more effective coming on a sub.  Milner is real pull stones.

I believe the reason why Hodgson played Milner is because he felt that Johnson needed the defensive help more than England needed an attacking option.

I think that's also why he played Ashley Young as well.  Both Walcott & Chamberlain are young players not known for their defensive attributes and England needed numbers in midfield to help when Italy had the ball.  As was seen by the stats, Italy had significantly more of the ball than England which made that help even more important.

Just a guess on my part.

Chamberlain showed a decent work rate in the first game in terms of tracking back.

But by having players that didn't want to hold onto the ball he was essentially ceding possesion to Italy and therefore inflating that stat.

England had no cutting edge whatsoever and are deservedly out of the tourney.

Chamberlain showed more in his brief stint than Milner and Young put together.

Chamberlain and Walcott at least want to possess the ball.

they overdo d fackin thing and are part reason why the transfer market so frigged up..dey cant carve a history so i guess they hadda buy one..they still not makin a note in CL next year

What is overdo?

When teams like Manchester United and Real Madrid was cherry picking whichever players they wanted to it wasn't overdo then?

Boom. Co-flickin-sign. People act like Man U didn't used to do the same thing. So iz only now that they don't have the most ammo to buy players that the market outta wack?

They helped create this monster. Let them keep searching for bargains now

I love Marcelo, but Coentrao is a man defend with heart and responsibility boy. Kudos to the whole Madrid defense in this one and that includes the midfielders and forwards who were tracking back and pressing. Barca had no space to execute. Their only goal was real scrappy.

Bayern is pressure though. I wonder if we need Marcelo attacking instincts in that one

Just read Ronaldo has scored 119 goals out of 122 matches for Madrid, compared to 118 out of 292 matches for ManU. That's incredible.

And I think that was before the hat trick

Goodluck Densil....keep working hard on the field and try to take away as much as you can from the experience.

Like we may need to learn a thing or two from the Indian pro league, 5-10,000 in the stands...

That's good that they get that many people but....
5000-10,000 people in India sounds like a lot but that is like 50-100 people in a country over 1 BILLION

You missing the main point that crowds of 5-10 thousand per game can support a league whereas 50-100 cannot. The fact that the country's population is very large isn't that relevant here

Yuh really think that a country's population being very large isn't relevant here ???

A country that's 1000 times more populated than T&T doesn't matter that they get crowds 100 times bigger?

For every 6 people on Earth better than 1 live in India -

Sorry but you're not being logical, it is relevant.

You are right. What I really meant was that your point - a country that's 1000 times more populated than T&T doesn't matter that they get crowds 100 times bigger - is irrelevant.

What's relevant is that they have a profitable league and Trinidad doesn't. The population could have been a million times larger than Trinidad's, but if they pulling big enough crowds (10K+), that's all that matters. The fact that football has only penetrated a small portion of the Indian market is actually a positive rather than a negative as you alluded to - which is why Nike willingly sposnors a "lesser" football league. In the end people care about the bottom line. The Indian population and market support a professional football league, even if it is a second or thrid tier sport over there.

You are arguing about the relative popularity of football in Trinidad vs India. Investors, Nike included really only care about the absolutes.

Allyuh doh study it. Madrid beating dat this year. Mourinho just not gonna tip his hand as the Cop del Rey is essentially a relegation prize. He waiting for the big games - La Liga return and Champions League. At this point he is still experimenting.

When he unleashes the Ronaldo - Di Maria - Kaka - Ozil - Benzema - Higuan combination it go be real trouble.

Each game has been closer in my opinion. The pattern and results have been similar, but Barca getting more and more stressed man. No denying that.
