Football / Re: Terry Fenwick Thread.
« on: March 11, 2020, 04:36:58 PM »
Sounds like there is no clearly defined roles and responsibilities. I know dey father is not a business reason except in Trinidad.
The TTFA seems to be moving too quick in an attempt to show action. Action is good but structure is also important.  You cannot hold people accountable if you don't have clearly defined roles (job description), followed by performance objectives and finally measuring results to evaluate performance.

I could see Fenwick being upset if it was his role to contact players but I will be highly surprised if there are clear guidelines on who does what.  So what you have is people with a big egos and others trying to help running around doing what they want. This leads to confusion, lack of trust, and a host of other issues which ultimately produce poor results. Imagine the impressions of these players. A simple task of contacting them the TTFA cant get right and they must commit to play for us?

Fenwick is a good short term solution based on his extensive coaching experience in Trinidad. TTFA should not rush into handing out a long term contract.

None of our sprinters are performing at a level to compete for medals at the World Championships. MLA decline has started. KSF is injured and may have other issues she need to overcome. KAB is past her prime.  Hopefully MLA, KAB, Semoy, Kamaria and Reyare can form a good 4x100 relay team.
I don't expect many medals at the World Championships.
My predictions:
MLA - semi finals (reaching a final will be a success for her).
women 4 x 100 - final
Cedenio - 400m final
Jereem - 200m final
men 4 x 400 relay - silver medal
Keshorn - javelin final, he performs well at big meets (Olympics) but no success at world championships. If everything comes together he can medal.
Anduwelle Wright - rising star. Capable of getting to the long jump finals.

Our athletes are trying their best but the obstacles they have to overcome continue to grow.

Where can I watch the finals? there are no channels carrying the finals and I’ve searched spectrum cable channels up and down. I think fifa messed up this time around planning three finals on the same day, how dumb.
In the US, the game will be shown on ESPN+ and Telemundo.

Honestly, that is a bullshit red card.

I agree. Both players should have received yellow cards.

Andwuelle Wright won gold in the long jump at NACAC Under 23 Games earlier today.

He broke his previous national record and also set a new games record.

Andwuelle is being coached by former Olympian and former national long jump record holder Wendell Williams.

Khalifa is nowhere close to the same league as Brianna. I wish she was as talented but that is not the case. Hopefully she can close the gap with hard work.

Lawrence has a terrible record, and I really wanted him to do well having been mentored by Martinez for so long, but alas we don't have Belgium quality players

People acting like dennis is a big coach because he was on Martinez's staff. He was just a scout.  Not an assistant coach.  Dennis is a waste of time.
Nah, he was a development coach. Basically coaching under-23s or youths or something so.

Cool scene, didn't realize he had that role with Martinez's club teams.  I think he was a scout for Belgium though.

People here saying that we lack this, and aint have that. Allyuh remember that the core players of this current team played in 2013 and 2015. Many of them are playing on better teams since 2013. So how all of a sudden they cant beat Guyana? There is a correlation between DJW coming into the administration and the results. That's where we have to start. .

Start there and get rid of Dennis while we there.

Woo Ling is still an average player at best.

Judah Garcia and Pappy on that side still?

No. Most of the key players not there. Playing pro league now, transfer, etc. Younger guys Transfer to Naps, Pres, etc.

San Juan's keeper looks a lil rusty. Maybe from not being challenged match after match?

From the highlights I can’t say he looked rusty.  I saw good finishing from the Green Machine and poor positioning from the keeper.

Curious to see the list as well. The best players in SSFL played games yesterday so I wondering if they trained in the morning then played school football in the evening or they did not get selected in the national pool.  Players such as Riley, Sween, Hospedales,St. Rose, Coryat, etc

Sensible procedure? Trinis always in bobol. All they had to do was check MOE as you said. But they knew what the answer would be so they tried a thing and was hoping no one caught them. How can you go back a form? Anybody with sense know you could only repeat a form. I willing to bet these 3 players are done with school. The principal and coach should be punished for trying to use these children.

Always felt he was overrated. He never even dominated SSFL. The videos that were floating around highlighting his skills were basically him making some basic passes with a good soundtrack against poor opposition. Woo Ling was simply a decent player.

USA, Canada and Mexico won the bid to host the 2026 WC...hopefully Trump don't f**k up the relations anymore and T&T has their house in order to actually qualify!

what does this mean for the amount of qualifiers from this area?

2026 will be 48 team world cup with 6.5 spots for Concacaf. So qualifiers will have 3.5 spots up for grabs.  If we can't make it we need to focus on netball.  First step is to get rid of DJW.

Keep an eye on Dwight St. Hillaire 200/400m runner.  He is at the University of Kentucky. He has the potential to join the 4x4 relay pool of Cedenio,, Richards and Lendore.  Solomon, Gordon and Quow getting up in age.

FIFA will not back this play as it would detract from the World Cup. I don't see this going anywhere.

I agree that FIFA will not be keen in sanctioning this tournament.  Clubs will not be keen on allowing their players to participate in a tournament of no value and risk injury.
The US can go ahead and still schedule the competition but I expect most teams (except US) fielding "B" squads.

Football / Re: Thread for the T&T vs Grenada Game (11-Nov-2017)

Some of these members are absolutely amazing to me I swear. After one game and some of you are already calling for the coaches scalp? It's a proven fact that we don't match up well with caribbean opposition and struggle tremendously with CFU teams as oppose to the central americans whom we tend to have an easier time with. please give the coach a chance, as it stands we're in the rebuilding phase and the experiment is on. Please be patient folks.

We struggle with CFU teams because we are not good.  We tend to have an easier time with Central Americans, I am not sure what you are saying since we don't beat them either.  I understand your point about giving Lawrence time but at the same time Tite came in and turned around Brazil immediately.  Lawrence with the team a while, had all the WCQ games to iron out stuff so I think it reasonable for people to at least expect us to beat Grenada.  I am not saying Lawrence is Tite and we have the same talent as Brazil, I am saying we should at least be able to beat Grenada by now.

Good morning.

And there you have it.

The TFA U15 program has worked.

Jaiye Sheppard (former Scarborough Secondary School student) wins the 2017 SSFL Premier Division with Presentation San Fernando and Adriel George was instrumental in  Bishop's High School's 2017 Tobago Zone SSFL U19 first ever League title and promotion to the 2018 Premier Division.

This program was initiated this year (2017). Both made it all the way to the Trinidad and Tobago National U15 team earlier this year. Imagine that eh....

Jaiye is very talented.  Probably the most talented in his age group.  He and other guys like Judah Garcia, Jordan Riley and Pappy represent the future of our football.  We need to develop them and not let them just be SSFL stars.

I really don't care about Shiva but this is a bucket of BS ..so what ..a kid played a club match and the school is penalized to that degree..this is school boy football ..it's for the the kids.  :bs: :bs: :bs:

There are rules to be followed.  Now if the rules are unclear, outdated, etc. then they should be changed. I feel bad for Shiva but their management dropped the ball big time in regards to following the rules.
