Great job young man.  Let us support him (referring to the future bad games he will have where the forum experts will call him a shithound).  He has a great future ahead of him and let us not call him the next Yorke, next Latas, etc.  He is Levi Garcia.

Good result in terms of being a goal down on the road playing on a bad field.  However, the team needs to play better against the weaker teams.  The backline was terrible and the midfield was not much better.  Big up Levi Garcia.  Did stuff the more experienced guys on the field couldn't do.  I will gladly take the 3 points.

All the talk is about his grandmother being a trini.  John's dad was born in Trinidad and never gave up his Trini citizenship so John got citizenship through his dad.  I don't know if we have changed the law as yet on getting citizenship through grandparents.

My top 2 in order are Neuer and De Gea.  After that it is tough decide among keepers such as Courtois, Navas, Bravo,  Lloris, and old men such as Cech and Buffon. I will give Courtois a slight edge.

Bateau, George and Boucaud was consistently good but Kenwyne was really class even when he messed up, like against Mexico, he made up for it.

Hyland, Joevin and Cato was great to, just need to be a little more consistent.

Kenwyne and Mollon gets my vote.

Mollon has a good attitude also. Arin King dont seem to friendly and to be player of the year, you have to be overall. But she is great on the field, really helped us.

Hutchinson is another positive player all round.

King needs to be friendly?

Dass is average at best.  Players such as Jesse Joseph and Nion Lammy are better MNT prospects than him.

This is a very bad case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Hopefully Nate recovers from this.

Argentina seems not to have fielded a quality squad. Lost by destruction 4-0 v. Germany and is losing 2-0 versus Australia as I post. Confirmation of a perspective.

Meanwhile Germany and Mexico are battling for 1st place in the group. Mexico is up 1-0 courtesy a deflected shot.

EDIT: 2-0. Excellent delivery on a corner. Brilliant header by Venegas. @ approx 65'

EDIT: Germany scores as I post. 2-1.

I would say the Argentina squad just shitty....the Brazil squad too.  Leandro is the savior on that Brazil squad.  They go as he goes.

Anybody knows why Benedict's home games are now played at the Mahaica Oval?

Don't know why the pick Mahaica.  But they can't play at the Commons because it is in a mess.  Commons need some serious work.
Point might actually make sense as a home ground for them since several of their players are from down there.

Why can't they use Pres ground. The area is pretty big. They can put tempory stands around the field.

I don't know what condition Union Hall is in.  Pres haven't played there in years so that ground might be worse than the Commons.

That, at least, has been the recipe for Naparima College. ” We’ve been with last year’s team since 2007, we’ve did it in the past and recently tried to use the under fourteens, trying to work on a programme,” their coach said. “We told the principal years ago that was the direction we were heading and it worked – the boys ended up winning.”

while the above may have been the intention, Naps like most other top performing schools import top players to remain competitive.  Martieon Watson one of their standout the past few years came from Benedict's.  This year they added Anderson Toussaint (PTown or Moruga) and Judah St Louis (Benedicts) to name a couple.

These schools need to stop talking about having a youth program because by the time the U14 team become "senior" players the majority of the intercol side comprises of players from different schools.

With Pres Sando win over Speyside, and Naps 0-0 draw with Benedicts, it looks like Pres is currently in 2nd place, behind by 1 solitary point of first place Naps.

RePRESent!!!

Pres scoring a lot but that defence is conceding too many goals.  They leaking like rusty galvanize.

« on: September 09, 2015, 02:36:10 PM »
I understand the enthusiasm, but there is/was no reason to create a new Faris thread, one exists ... created by Jumbie 3 years ago.

What is the Faris is a lightweight argument?

What's his legal background and experience in International, Constitutional and Administrative law?  Being a 4-year (or is it 5?) parliamentarian one would assume that he's up on parliamentary procedure, which has it's use, but as the Government's lawyer he has to be a jack-of-all trades and possess facility if not mastery of them all.  His background seems to be that of a general practitioner, which should serve to help some.

Went to school with Faris.  He is a good soldier.  Plus he came from a long time PNM family and as you said Rowley has a lot of confidence in him.

I like Faris personally... I have no issue with him.  What year was he at Presentation... '87 or '88?

I believe he finished in 88.

Some might argue that Faris is a bit of a lightweight, but he would seem the most obvious choice at this point.  Rowley certainly has the utmost of confidence in him.

Nicaragua not afraid to play in The Cubicle.

Yeah it seemed more like a cubicle than an actual office on Friday. .

The Reggae Boyz need a miracle to advance. I don't see them scoring 3 goals in Managua. Its going to be key for them to score in the first half. If they score in the first half, they should go through.. If they  dont, panic will take over and Nicaragua will start to grow in confidence.

We all know that many of the Jamaican supporters won't be rooting for us if we were in the same position.. But I would rather see them through instead of another Central American team.

Nicaragua will score at home. Can't see Jamaica getting 3.

Final score Jamaica 2-1 Nicaragua

Jamaica only need 2 goals if they keep a clean sheet.

That's right. But it is likely that Nicaragua  will score at home.

All the officials are Guatemalan. All it will take is a dive in the 18 yard box by the Nicaraguans and they will get the crucial goal.

2 goals were enough

^^ Hard to believe the UNC will win only 12 seats. I want the PNM candidates to win in Fyzo and St Augustine but it will very difficult for them to win those seats. I hope I am proven wrong.

My prediction is PNM winning the election with 23-25 seats.

At the end of the day people have to come out and vote because votes win elections!

.

I can't see PNM winning more than 23 - 25 seats but you never know.  I don't think anyone predicted the 33-3 cutarse in 1986.
