If this score  holds, the Mexican coach getting ah pink slip on the way to the dressing room.
Also, as bad as Mexico has been, this will be a testament to show that Panama was a formidable opponent who only beat us by penalties....

Looks like the organizers may get their coveted USA vs Mexico match-up after all   :rotfl:

I'll have to take a minute to let this one sink in.  I believe our strength In defense has made us into a formidable unit.  I don't believe we will be able to hold onto Schaeffer. He is a master tactician.

Apart from our goalie, I think we executed well in all departments.

I am pretty sure the Mexicans might be having second thoughts after that rough up they got vs T&T.

Congrats man! I got a little worried after Jamaica scored the first goal as I thought they would just sit back and try to defend the slim lead for the rest of the game...good to see them pressing for the second. Well done to your team. Best of luck in the final! :beermug:

Meant to ask this during a previous game: WHO IS THAT?
Qui ?

Methinks she's medical staff, but I'm not sure.

I'm not watching the game, but I'll bet money you're talking about Tonya.....sorry, Dr. Tonya Welch......yeah, she's pretty hot  ;D

Well done to the Warriors! Tremendous display of determination last night!  :applause: :applause:

What was especially moving for me was seeing coach Hart's reactions after every goal....the man was ecstatic! After everything he's been through with the TTFA and his own personal issues recently (losing his mother before the GC)  it was good to see him smiling!

After what looked like Mexico had won the group with an own goal from Trinidad and Tobago striker Kenwyne Jones in the 91st minute, the Soca Warriors defied expectations again to make history by winning in Gold Cup group play for the first time.

Huh??

Cheap yellow card from St. Louis. Avoidable. Steups.
How did we look last night? Would you say an improvement from the first game?

Interested to know as well...
Did Lady Andrade play for Colombia? Would have been nice to see how our defenders fared against her.

I blaming Bravo for this loss. Man get torn apart in the last over of the match. Before that over Steel was in position to win

Once I saw him take the ball to bowl the last over I knew that was the end of that....

This is kinda painful to watch. Can't believe this is the same team that brought us to the brink of a world cup...we've regressed tremendously....Inactivity is a hell of a thing

How is it the ladies are wearing Adidas kits?  Is that old stock?

PanAm falls under TTOC. Adidas is the uniform supplier of TTOC so that's why you will see the TTOC logo on the kits as well.

Why am I watching this crap team?

Jamaica Tallawahs 180/6 (20/20 ov)
Red Steel 76/6 (12.2/20 ov)

watched bits and pieces of the first innings....once Jamaica made more than 120 I knew "we" would struggle ...180+, don't even bother. Red  steel is perhaps the worst team in the tournament ...the bowling is garbage and apart from old man Kallis the batting is shit too...

the only flaw is the majority of TT players not playing on the same team, yet JA has the majority of their players on the side..

That's not a flaw...that's the franchise system for ya.  I think the players have accepted the CPL for what it is; a chance to make some quick money whilst trying to get noticed by the more lucrative leagues (IPL, Big Bash, etc).

so I guess story has already been written as this world cup seems so scripted...the US beats Japan 1-0 to avenge their 2011 loss as Abby Wambauch scores a game winning penalty.

I think the script writers were hoping for a USA vs Canada showdown....but the "revenge" angle has a sensational Hollywood appeal to it that works as well.

I don't know what was worse, the dubious penalty calls or the dumb-ass commentator trying to justify the call by saying the foul "..continued into the box"...wtf

I might be willing to buy the Japanese penalty... but not the English one, she accidentally stepped on the English player's heel... had minimal impact on her, if any.  English player takes a step, falls and rolls around.  Good thing that doesn't happen in England.

I guess the good thing is the second bad penalty call restored parity to a half in which neither team had the clear upper hand. England had the better of the opportunities in the second half and I gave them the edge going in to extra time...but it seemed fate had other plans for them.

Describing the officiating in this World Cup as amateurish is an insult to amateur refs everywhere.  Two dubious penalties, none more so than the dive rewarded by the ref to allow England to draw even.

I don't know what was worse, the dubious penalty calls or the dumb-ass commentator trying to justify the call by saying the foul "..continued into the box"...wtf

Man... football is a cruel sport.  England pressuring Japan at the death when Laura Bassett accidentally puts a Japanese cross in over her goalkeeper's head in the final minute of stoppage time.

That really was cruel. I was supporting Japan but I really felt that one for England .....hard luck Lionesses...

US Embassy: No final extradition request for Jack, yet.

The final request for the extradition of Independent Liberal Party (ILP) political leader, Jack Warner, has not yet been issued.

This is according to the United States Embassy, Port-of-Spain.

The Embassy issued a media release on Monday stating that the U.S. Department of Justice has not yet sent any final requests on the Warner extradition request to the Trinidad and Tobago authorities. The release stated that it was still within the 60 day window specified by the treaty for the final request to be delivered.

The US Embassy was responding to reports that the official documentation had been delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Express was informed that around midday on Sunday the package was dropped off via courier and will be sent to Central Authority head Netram Kowlessar.

Speaking at a meeting at Hatters panyard in San Fernando on Sunday evening, Warner said there was no cause to worry. He warned supporters that in the coming weeks they will hear many things abour him and the US charges.

"You will hear Jack Warner is guilty and you will hear them say he should leave and go to the US and be tried. You will hear them say he can't go to France. You know how many times I went to France with my own money. I have gone to more countries in the world than any of the combined, so I dont have to go to France. What  want to do is to come to places like Hatters panyard and see the peoples propblems," he said.

Irresponsible conduct by the source ...

And what of the journalist/Express? ...publishing unsubstantiated information...

Unsubstantiated by whom?

Any of the authorities who should be in a position to do so.

Ah get yuh. However, in the publication's view, the sources likely are of sufficient competence to stand independently as "credible". As such, the Express likely met its threshold of responsibility.

The initial leaking of the information rests in mischief and is provocative. Keep yuh mouth shut and let the process take its course.

Fair enough, but  that right there for me is the problem with the Express and other local publications . To what standard of credibility are their sources being held?

One NACTA prediction poll I will agree with.. The COP is a DEAD party and everyone know dat

http://www.trinidadexpress.com/20150620/news/nacta-no-seat-for-cop

I don't think that poll makes any practical sense. The COP isn't contesting the election as an independent entity; they're part of the PP...so the people who (for reasons I cannot understand) are enamored with Kamla will still vote for the COP in  order to but that clueless woman  back in power. There are people who are willing to put up with poor representation at the constituency level  as long as Kamla is PM.

A woman was interviewed on tv a couple weeks back, I can't remember which constituency,  and she had the most derogatory things to say about her MP. But when asked if she'll vote for him again her response was an emphatic "yeah!".  Why??..." because I like Kamla!"   :frustrated: :frustrated:
Some people really deserve what they get. It's unfortunate though that their votes are worth just as much as yours and mine  >:(

Brazil :banginghead:

They lacked the final Umph! But give the Aussies credit. They matched the Samba girls toe to toe.

After that game the Matildas played versus the US, they are very deserving of being around for the next round. They bring collective attacking commitment that Brazil didn't really show. Brazil was more individualistic, but even with that, they had the opportunity to rinse the Aussies.

Will be sorry to see Formiga go though ... wonder if she'll be around for Rio?

The Aussies started off impressively and got  better as the tournament progressed. I wonder if things would have been different if they met the US last in group play rather than first.

This Canada - Switzerland game is just wildness, one setta hard running, hard kicking, and hard tackling.

True...but I'll give Switzerland the advantage. Canada has been pretty disappointing all tournament; I expected a bit more from them, especially since they're at home.

pardon my ignorance but the article didn't mention who this LONDON character was, is it whom i think it is?

London isn't a character....it's where the author,Joshua Surtees, resides. He's a  free-lance writer for the Guardian and a couple UK based publications. His column in the Guardian is called " London Calling"....( I guess because he's writing from London?)

Sweden doing well against the US. The pace of the game (or lack thereof) suits Sweden. The US has a knack for cranking things up in the second half....I hope Sweden can keep up.

Just taking a little SATISFACTION in watching Ecuador being completely obliterated by Switzerland. They shouldn't even be there. Still upset about T&T not making it  :pissedoff:. That's life sometimes. You don't always get what you deserve. Ecuador however, is getting EXACTLY what they deserve  ;D

Why all the hate for Ecuador?  ;D They did what they had to do to earn their spot....we had our chance(s) to get there but failed...I wish I was watching us play in the WC instead and I'm left wondering if we would have put up a better fight, but I'm not begrudging Ecuador their place in the 24.
