It was a harsh call...especially at that stage of the game. But harsh doesn't mean unfair. It was a goal. I only just looked at the footage and hearing all the comments before seeing it, I thought there was a big barge or push on the keeper....but there wasn't. Tough luck....and a poor decision by the keeper as well....

Don't believe what 'Arry wrote about Kenwyne. Can't see a professional athlete being outdone by a 50yr old man (will accept if the 50 yr old is Yorke), and can't see how 'd sun too hot' reply could go without serious repercussions for both his status in the team and subsequent transfers

I am amazed at that midfield. Question?  Have we ever had a better midfield?  dis is a real question eh!

H. Hector - A Guerra - Molino - Boucaud - Peltier - Hyland - Theobald - K. George -Cato

any takers?

Guess Dr Abracadabra amazes you too...........

Football / Stadia for sale/lease?
« on: September 11, 2013, 12:28:15 PM »
This may be a far-fetched/ridiculous question.....but I was asked to ask and believe that someone here just might have the relevant info or hook-up...

Is the government willing to sell any one of the Ato Boldon, Manny Ramjohn or Larry Gomes Stadia? Or at least engage in a long term lease to a private investor or company?

To whom should such a query be directed?...SPORTT, Minister, Prime Minister, Tourism Minister, Finance Minister etc

Proposer sees value in local and by extension Caribbean football and is seeking info before making the next step.

We have huge problems as a nation and as fans when we place so much emphasis on the SSFL.

Firstly, as far as I know, there are no football academies in Trinidad and Tobago, the SSFL is an extra curricular activity, it isn't football first, school after....regardless of how many schools do it in reverse.

School supposed to be a learning ground for either academics or technical vocation, with sports and other activities being put in to build a better citizen. Folks here talking about SSFL like it supposed to be all about football all through the year. amwood spoke of many good things, but to the wrong audience. Schools' football is exactly what it is....school football. It isn't pro, semi pro or even serious football for that matter. For the vast majority of SSFL players, they won't even make a pro league team, go on scholarship or do anything of note in football....but they will always be able to tell their friends/children, aye, I play for Fatima, St Benedicts..etc.

If allyuh want d standard of football improve....do d academy thing....d SSFL is not for that.

As for the premier league thing.....didn't like it at first. But it will provide a lot of small positives. I know some town ppl who have never been to south in dey life....and vice versa. Know yuh country tour via ssfl? East life different to central life....know yuh ppl tour via ssfl? Travel to south from town and loss and hadda travel back with yuh team vex and sour in d maxi.....build character tour via ssfl? Only playing teams in yuh zone.....meet some new ppl via ssfl?

Again, its SCHOOL football, not a football school....no La Masia here.....let the kids enjoy it. I had a hell of a time....and one of my school teams was level mess.

he not good enough cause he is slower and does not defend.  if the game didnt include running and defending and only included set plays and passing then he would still be one of the best in the world.

Just to put it in context....it was a CONCACAF wide competition....over 5000 participants.....and the top 12 were selected. So getting there was an achievement in itself. Even better....I didn't come last. Saw d gold cup semi final double header....did some interviews with local, regional and foreign media (one aired on local tv I was told)....and was treated like a boss by CONCACAF....absolutely no regrets or shame.

But if ever yuh feel froggy and wanna see why ah make it, jump online and challenge d governor nah.......

But at the end of the day, I don't think he ever really do anybody on this board anything major except cuss dem up or something....so whats the big deal?

....at the end of the day, all I ever did was cuss him, too.  I just found it very funny that I would all of a sudden be getting "warned"....but, as I said before, Flex and I are discussing the matter.

Noted.....

Sort out allyuh business..... :beermug:

76
I don't like dis Bakes fella from day one......maybe is because of the tone of his comments, could be because of his sentence construction, perhaps the fact that he seems to support a poor team, even possibly because of his ridiculous name.....But at the end of the day, I don't think he ever really do anybody on this board anything major except cuss dem up or something....so whats the big deal?

As far as I see, he is more mudder c*&t than moderator, but then again, so are a lot of us.........

Is moderator a paid position?

No !!

Football / Apologies
« on: April 22, 2013, 05:59:59 AM »
It pains, yet not surprises me, to read what can only be construed as confirmation of Jack Warner's many secret dealings, in his capacity as FIFA VP, CONCACAF President and CFU President. Whilst many, if not all of us, assumed (perhaps rightly) such dealings, all has now come into the open. Not yet revealed, however, and in keeping in line with what has been exposed, is his secret political dealings, but that is best left for another time or discussion.

I have read the many postings on this forum, the many articles in the media, and listened to many verbal discussions on the matter so there is no need to rehash what has already been said, nor is there any reason to bring anything else to the fore, especially if I am not bringing anything new.

What I will do is offer an unreserved apology, and a simultaneous self reprimanding, for my once undeterred support of JW. I always acknowledged that JW was not a beneficiary of the highest of morals, and while willing to sidestep this trait (an admittedly poor exercise in judgement), any rational thinking person must be ready and able to concede that he was wrong in his previous train of thought.

To Lasana Liburd.....I apologise. I once termed you a 'pen with a vendetta'. Oh how your perseverance and reluctance to vacate your stance has proven me to be a an ignorant author. I applaud you and rather admire you. Our brief email exchanges solidifies this.

To the forum members.......I apologise. Even though I punctuated my postings with a wry smile, I was forced to shield my bladed pen, driven back into its scabbard, the power it once wielded undermined by truth, while I read, researched and inevitably recanted my previous backing of JW. Even those most gifted must bow to righteousness.

Unable to remember all I may have offended..........I offer blanket apologies.

To those who wish to remain loyal to JW and defend his actions I say to each his own. I harbour no ill will toward thee. But this horse has bolted from that stable....

Leave the fackin man alone, he has proven that he respects the flag and the nation more than any other footballer !! bleeder never blank we  when called on, he doh go awol, he doh argue wid the coaches and cause disruption amongst the players,

he doh cuss out the coaches, he doh bring negativity to the locker room, he doh sneak out in the night and go out drinking the night before a game, he doh be limin on the block and playing gangster even though he from the worst neighborhood in trinidad,

he don't show up late for practice, he don't mind scrubbing bench, lets face it folks, the man is the ultimate team player although he may not be the best option, but one things for sure, bleeder never ever disrespect the shirt, or said no to the RW&B! and that deserves ah big muddafackin  :applause: and ah doggone  :salute:, madafackers!!

Agreed...........but he's still a goat

Fellas, just wanted to share a little update, we one month into the little academy setup and the youths are really getting the concept...focus continues tuh be on developing sound technique, introducing concepts of dynamic movement, and very importantly - executing at SPEED. Used some of the youths in the video to kindda demonstrate those concepts...Bless!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HYtjlU9JQs
Difference between, Mexico, Brazil etc and Trinidad?....Technical Speed.........

If this is one of the basic concepts this academy is teaching, big big big respect!!!

Playing at speed is the key, I was bun in 15 mins in a u20 World Cup game against Australia, and the coaches all thought we were fit. We simply were not prepared to play at that speed - under that type of pressure. Everything we ask our Academy kids to do is based on their ability to execute with maximum speed relative to their ability...

I didn't learn about technical speed until I was more or less done with the whole competitive football thing....and I've been on national teams from u17 to u23...smh

So I'm really glad to see this being done at this early stage.....best of luck in this endeavour.....if there's anything I may be able to help with I'm there......
