Football / Re: YORK MUST PLAY MIDFIELD FROM NOW ON!
« on: August 18, 2005, 08:58:30 AM »
Yorke played like a general in d midle. Spann had a good game ( like that thru ball he gave Yorke in d 1st half). Collin Samuel shud have been left on d left as he was causing d left back problems. I think he was subbed cuz we were down to 10 men and we needed more defensive players. Atiba had a bad game but I think hw shud still play vs Guatemala due to Lawrence suspension, cuz Atiba betta dan Cyd Gray, last nite he was just bad. Spann needs to stay in d middle, whitley looked better as he had a more attacking role.....was running at players........ I think we need to go with Scott and Kenwyn up top as these fellas have no respect for the opposition...De furthest Stern stay away from this team d better, TTFF shud delete his name from their database along with his contact info. Dese youngsters hungry and playing wit heart... Birchall had an aight game but wevw seen better......Jack kept us in d game but he was giving meh some mild heart attacks like when he set donovan on top d box and he didnt come for a ball hen he shud have in d box.....I would go wit d same team wit Sancho in for Lawrence. Spann is more effective in d middle but looked quite good on d right.

Football / Re: Where's Ratty
« on: August 17, 2005, 08:08:09 AM »
Ratty was dropped by W Connection earlier this year, this fella has a lot of talent but his head isnt in the right place. He was also on the trial with Aaron Downing but he chose not to sign for reasons I wish not to say becuz the were not confirmed. He wasnt in the last U20 team due to his discipline. It is a shame that guys with an abundance of talent allowing it to go down the drain.

Football / Re: US roster for T&T game.
« on: August 10, 2005, 01:37:39 PM »
Cunningham is real death since he was with Crew, and I wouldnt say dat lineup is soft.......It may not be as strong but dey still solid. Another big difference with the US Team is that their all their players are starters with their respective clubs, but some of our players coming off the bench. so match fitness is another ting to look at.

Didnt Sancho play defensive midfield under BSC St. Clair vs Mexico in Mexico? Didnt look to good there, So if he and Birchall playing there where Spann goh play? Spann hadda be in there somehow.

Football / Re: The level of US college soccer?
« on: July 02, 2005, 01:11:15 PM »
in response to triniman, the 2 players are Steve Sealy and Julius James.

Glad that you'll educate them fellas about d level of college ball in d US. Some ah dem fellas tink that this US College soccer is a shit league. Jahyouth I like how yuh educate dem fellas. Some of the players in NAIA already played pro whereas its a regulation in NCAA that players cannot have played in a pro league. The US Soccer team  played UCLA for a warm up b4 they came to trinidad for the ash wednesday game. http://www.ussoccer.com/news/fullstory.spnothers?iNewsid=147707&itype=113&icategoryid=76. Carron Williams, Ateba McKnight and Anthony Noriega won the NAIA competition in 02 with U of Mobile. Then they transfered.

Another thing about being an amatuer and a professional, professionalism is not just about playing in a recognised league and getting pay it is also a state of mind. Some say that Hardest professionalism gone down d drain whereas a guy playing in high school cud have an extremely high work ethic.

Dem brazilian wingbacks are very good, Cicinho especially was a threat on offense throughout the game having a few shots on goal and he was always there defending. Dem is d wingbacks for d future.

Football / Re: what about scott sealy
« on: June 27, 2005, 04:45:19 PM »
Scott Sealy is ready in my opinoin for int'l football at the WCQ level. I agree to an extent that college ball in the US may not be the best option for fellas wanting to go pro, but on the other hand a lot of fellas that do do exceptionally well on the NCAA or NAIA circuit make a lot of contacts and network a lot during their time in the US. i.e they sell themselves to a wider market. It may be right to say that Yorke wouldnt be the star he is today if he played college ball but it is also about timing and opportunity. Though the time a player trains per week will be less for a college team than a pro team, highly ranked college teams are not weak teams compared to lets say PFL teams. Some can in fact beat PFL teams. U have to take into consideration that guys also want  a higher education whether for self satisfaction or for other reasons. Players also get injuires that hinder them from making it into the pro ranks, so having a bachelor's is just having a plan B in certain circumstances.

So i think that players wanting to go pro but coming on the NCAA cicuit is debatable as some have limited options.

** Scott Sealy could handle it, he just needs to be given a chance. The man has a nack for scoring.

Football / Re: We will qualify!
« on: June 10, 2005, 02:41:38 PM »
I wouldn't say dat we hadda bench Stern. Yorke and Stern don't complement each other......In the game we didnt get any clear cut chances, Yorke header was d closest........We need ah Speedy striker to take it to the oppositon. There were times that Stern and Yorke got the ball and the cud have taken on 3 defenders but they didnt. Glen and Sam wud have run at them.......Rahim took that card bcuz he had too, as a midflielder or defender there are times when u HAVE to foul a man, if he didnt foul the mexican he had a clear shot with no T&T player being near......We goin and take points from USA in August.

 MAradona7 is this Yohan?

« on: June 09, 2005, 11:15:49 AM »
D first goal, Jack was at full stretch and he got fingers to it, Lawrence let Borgetti come from behind his back and tap it in....................D second goal, Jack shud have saved it.....Odder dan dat I was satisfied with the way we played, against mexico in mexico........we waited till we were down to attack them.....I swore yorke scored d header, nice flick from stern to Sam................I didnt expect us to win but we cud have drawn. Mexico proved that they are beatable at home.

Dis Youngone fella clearly doesnt know anything about football........First yuh say Tiger is not a footballer. On what grounds do you make this judgement, no one has said that he shud be played in frot of Birchall. Yorke is a striker, yes. Yorke was put to play midfield because we had a midfield crisis......Del Piero, Raul have done this also.........and please leave this racism talk off this forum, all ah we is one, D tech staff used the best players at their disposal, none were indians then so be it......Do u complain that there arent enough indians on T&T's track team, swim team, water polo team............fadda we really doh need this racial talk on d forum..
