long story short some personalities invovled does jus rub yuh d wrong way and we translate dat onto to d entire US setup, more so if u not livin dey or jus have it in yuh to be dispassionate about dem.

:rotfl: Yeah, ah know it was long in trute, but ah feel like ah needed to "extrapolate"....but living here and living amongst them could really send your opinion either for the better of for the worse.....for me, it's the latter.

This thread is kicks, oui! I could be wrong, but I really doh think that Socapro meant this thread to be taken too seriously.  I chuckled when I saw the heading and move meh cursor towards it with lightning speed. I could see it as a rant of sorts but I doh think the man is trying to call nobody out for supporting anybody.  I believe strongly that everybody is entitled to like and dislike who and what they so chose for whatever reason and it is no one else's right to tell them who they should and should not. Yuh damned fass and outta place when yuh try to do dat. That being said, I takin' umbrage with any and everybody that want to criticize any of us because we doh like de usa.

America is probably the most hated country in the world and yuh could take yuh pick from a myriad of reasons why but allow me to offer this reason: Overall, they are a VERY arrogant people.  Americans are very privileged people in very many ways, and those privileges extend to their world of "soccer" and a problem with them is that they have NO idea nor do they care to see just how privileged they are.....and it comes across in practically every aspect of their projection of themselves and that tends to be a major turn-off to many people. To me, landon donovan is the perfect poster boy for that "theory". These folks have the money and facilities put into the sport that would be the envy of even the most successful European countries and while it is not their fault that it is that way, they are very good at giving you the impression that they have no appreciation for that or for what certain things mean to other people and what they have to go through just to get to be on the same pitch as them or even sit in the same bleachers. I actually used to like the usmnt....wait, daiz a lie! I USED to like some of their players.....what i used to like was the uswnt. Eric Wynalda used to be one of my favorite and I really liked him as a player.....cyah stand him in the studio. It's the exact opposite with me for Brian McBride and Cobi Jones. I really used to like their women's team....until they showed no respeck for how BIG a player Brianna scurry was and until their "arrogance" just became too much to bear. I still like and/or respect some of their players, guys like Brad Friedel and DaMarcus Beasley are extraordinarily humble players and I totally respect their football journeys.

Long before Jurgen Klinsmann made his euphemystic, post-WC comments about the us needing to look for and find more of their talent in the "inner cities" I used to tell my boy the same thing and that i would never support them until they did....it seems like they are now (their Gold cup squad have 4 Mexicans and about 4-5 Black players including 2 Black GK's) but you still see that arrogance coming through and you will never hear me say I like jozy altidore who is known to be an extremely arrogant dude with a very nasty attitude.  Last year's U-20 women's champions had a very humble and talented group of players that I actually enjoyed watching play....but then their fans and analysts/commentators does sour everything....taylor twellman need to get thrown back in the sea, I rate him as the worst of them....and dey could trow zeppo back in wit him, too. Most of zeppo's posts on here is when he tryin' to be snide or tryin' to rub people nose in something..rrrrride out wit dat!  Tomas rongen need to go, too! lol!

I think I will become a USA supporter.

they did things the right way and they continue to develop the football.

look how far they come since 1990.

I like there approach to the gold cup so far add this is a "B" squad.

I think they have turned the page and have started to promote more of the technical skillfull players.

Jes come out and say yuh does done support dem nuh, doh 'fraid!  Nobody eh go treat yuh like zeppo.   :D

arsenal, liverpool, manu!!

actually, seriously, usa and Except for Balo and Buffon, I hate dem Italians for the same reasons everybody else hate dem two teams....plus them Eastern European teams that espouse the same kinda bullshit racism as plenty o' dem italian and dem....I love Brazil so I does espouse de same hate one should for Argentinians as if I was Brazilian meh dam self....but oh, LAWD dm f**kers have skill and could play dis game fuh so boy!

the american "arrogance" that a lot of people hate isn't limited to the way their players carry themselves....the people in the media that are the faces and voices of the sport are, for the most part, EXTREMELY hard to embrace with the shit they does be talking. (and dat includes these British ex-pats that love to wave the stars and stripes hard and heavy, people like ian darke and mcmanaman....and warren barton like he go be next. lol!

I agree with the both of you.  The most eye opening comment was made by the Salvadorean Coach:

"Collectively, they're a very good team," El Salvador coach Agustin Castillo said through a translator. "They almost play by memory. They can find the spaces. It almost seems like every time they pass the ball into a space it's going to nobody, then somebody appears and actually meets the ball. Good work, good movement."

...that what he describe there has always been the way the usa play.  They play the ball into space and whoever not passing the ball running into space. Fitness, fitness, fitness! (any complaints lately about JK and his training methods?...or did he change them to the players' liking?)

Winning cures all ills...The US are  doing what they are supposed to do, and that is to destroy mediocre opponents. All that said, if they don't make it to the GC finals or get embarrassed as they did in the past 2 finals, Klinsmann's methods and tactics will be up for debate again.
To me there are no significant differences with how this team is playing now than they did under Bradley. All this team speed talk is a moot point until they get 1 or 2 players who are game changers.

Agreed!

Football / Re: Is JMW the best keeper we have?
« on: July 17, 2013, 12:24:37 AM »

at the risk of being "contrarian" again like a man tell meh de other day, I will not be repeating what the commentators/analysts sayin' without thinking, understanding or analyzing for myself....most times "fundamentals" are very important in football (as in all sports) but GK coaches will tell you that sometimes you just have to let certain things go, as long as the GK can make the save.  Sometimes they don't have the time to react the "fundamental" way and they do the best that they can. I say that because, unless Jan had time (which I don't think he did) to shuffle his feet and move across and catch the ball from a standing, fully upright position, or cradle it into his stomach, his footwork didn't matter once he got his two hands to the ball. now THAT is where I think his departure from the "fundamentals" (as I categorize it) is what hurt him/us.  I think Jan could and should have caught that ball as opposed to parrying it.  He could have even pushed it around the post for a corner and at semi-full stretch, it is easier to do that than with them low hard shots on the ground.....over the years, as I have seen JMW play, I find he tends to parry shots more than catch the ones that are catchable and it seems to be the norm with GK's in today's game. Iker Casillas is a next one that does that alot. They parry and punch and hardly ever think of catching the ball like GK's used to do back in the day.  If Earl Carter was Jan's GK coach, I honestly believe you would see a difference because Earl was a "catcher"....just like men like VDS and Schmeichel.....and Richard Hood. (lol!)....I guarantee you, them men was either catching that shot or pushin' it wide for a corner.....
Jan WAS slow getting back up to deal with the rebound, though, he had no chance.....I am not bashing the man, I like the fella, I think he is a very classy, very humble, cool, level-headed, hard-working fella and I think that is one of the things that make the coaches give him the nod over Marvin, he really works hard in training....but I prefer Marvin myself....to me he just has more natural ability and sharper reflexes......Where is Glenroy Samuel why hasn't he made his way into this national team to compete for the shirt?

....on another note, ah rel likin' de new uniforms but oh LAWWD, man why dem pants and dem so friggin' tight?!

wtf like yuh take that to heart..chill nah padnah.....but I have to agree with something yuh tell me a couple years ago about technique and our players not ready

I was jes' being sarcastic.....and whatever it was I said, yes, I agree, too!

Where is Glenroy Samuel why hasn't he made his way into this national team to compete for the shirt?

Look at his performances for Caledonia an you will know why. He is very erratic. When I first saw him at U-17 level, I thought he was one for the future, but even though eh went on to play for the U-20 team at the 2009 World Cup, he just has not progressed to the level that his youth potential suggested.

I rel sorry to hyear dat, because at the youth level, he had all the right elements to be the next No.1 in trute....I would like to blame it on something somebody touched on earlier in the thread, I think was Football Supporter: if these players don't have the right coaches and the right facilities with the right training methods, they will never develop into their fullest potential.

« on: July 10, 2013, 02:27:52 PM »
There was a play very early in the game where our player was fouled on top of our 18'... The ref allowed play to go on and we conceded another foul near the center circle..  The ref blow for the foul and make us take the free kick back on top of our 18...

From right there I find something wasn't looking too right... Ref was calling that game extra hard against us and the free kick they got for the goal and the penalty call we were not given was just the 2 glaring ones...

All dem lil small miss call and wrong call was frustrating us.

People doesn't understand how much dem ting does affect players in a game nuh....the mantra is always that players should "be professional" but "professionals" is humans first and dem ting does affect plenty players in a game.

BOOOOOOOOOOO to de Ghanaian player dat jes get de French fullback send off.  De Frenchy fingers lightly brush de Ghanaian face while fending him off.  De Ghanaian gone down clutching he face like if it on fire or someting.  French player colleck a 2nd yellow and off he goes.

I HATE DAT SHIT!

Spoil a thoroughly entertaining game for me  :pissedoff:

Well, so it goes because de same man dat get de yellow I posted about up ^^^ dey is de same man dat score de 2 goals dat relegate Ghana to the 3rd place game. Sadly, this is what the game has become now. EVERYBODY fakin'. STEUWPS!!

Referee now give a Frenchie a YC for simulation....it looked obvious and terrible...man push de ball past a defender and try to outpace him, defender throws out a forearm but makes little to no contact...forward take about a step or two and proceed to trow he self on de ground...well done by the referee, now if they could only learn to ketch the ones where contact is actually made but not enough to be actually a "foul" and card THEM players too, all this divin' shit go stop.

These African youths does never cease to amaze me with the things they can do with and around the ball BOTH in attack and on defense....African football always suffers from wither poor organization/discipline or poor finishing.   Otherwise, these teams would have really been dominating these tournaments at all levels, not just the Junior ones.

This is the most composed African side I have seen in a while, as far of use of the ball. This side seem well coached. Shame the "16" will miss the game against France if they go thru. He has been very enjoyable to watch.

I eh know why yuh puttin' dem "quotation marks" on de boy age.....ALL dem teams does have overage-lookin' players on dey side.  ;D
