Football / Re: Thread for the TRI vs GUA game.

yeah man, today was a blessed day. I enjoyed the game, a little too emotional (too much "f*ck this", "f*ck that", "f*ck stern"  and i doh really cuss, so I apologize to this/that/stern, especially stern, but he need to stop letting them chances pass by so easily).
We have to be grateful that the Guatemala keeper was horrible for most of the game. I have to hype up all the goals but the "one that get away" was birchall shot. The man does come from nowhere and buss shot like is a stroll in the park. We need to make use of him in the department some more.
Latapy come back today and show that age is just a number. If you have it, you have it. The man hold firm and delivered. He redeem himself for first coming back to fight for us and then putting on such a wonderful performance. The team in general play a nice game in the end, but we need to hold that concentration for the 90+mins each game. Good luck with the remaining journey.

Yeah, the stadium had a decent turn out that day. I think the estimates were in the region of 15,000. If it was one thing, real noise was made. I remember leaving that game and hearing people say they get the money worth. Next week will have a huge turn out, hopefully, we can hear people making the same comment as after the Panama game.

What about Track & Field / Re: Silver Medal for men's 4 x 100 m Relay
« on: August 13, 2005, 01:36:29 PM »
The race was ridiculously close.

Taken off the Iaaf website:

Silver Medallist - TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
1st leg, Pierre KEVON:

"We have to be content with the silver medal, but seeing that it was so close I can not help thinking that the exchanging could have been a little more fluent. But I will take the silver for now anyways."

"At the start I was a little bit confused, because I could not understand what the starter said. I was unsure if it was 'set' or 'stand up'. I think we should have an international language for something like this."

2nd leg, Marc BURNS:

"I am a little bit disappointed, because we had one of our fastest guys injured, but we came here loaded and wanted to have a good run."

I must commend Jack and Birchall... really put in the best efforts for our side
Stern too lazy and looking for foul and doing nothing (seems to be the norm now). The side did not look as cohesive as the previous games. Too many loose balls and errant passes. Not good for a side that is in the midst of WCQ.

I expect them to improve over the course of the tournament tho....

Football / warriors wristband?
« on: April 10, 2005, 08:55:34 PM »
http://www.trinidadexpress.com/index.pl/article_sports?id=71542111

At the time he was also wearing a red "Warriors" wristband which has been manufactured to spread further awareness and support for the national team and, to an extent, the fight against crime, racism and use of illegal drugs in T&T.

Any word on this and where it can be purchased?
