You eh from trini, that's the most brazen even foolish thing I've read since I've been on this site, please think carefully before posting."A word to the wise", everyone on this site will criticize, even boldly bash some players it's fair game, but they'll never exclude there country from the picture in such an inflamatory way,I don't care about costa rica, guatemala or panama I'm from trinidad & tobago.......................

General Discussion / Re: Trini woman sweet eh?
« on: September 19, 2005, 10:18:19 AM »
Ah man does connect whey he is.  A good woman is a good woman doh matter the colour

Listen your point is well taken, but while n.c. in his comment was wrong in saying chasing after white girls I do understand what he meant. Many trini men who leave they small island and travel to the u.s.a first thing they look for is a sexy white woman,I think maybe it's because the ones at home are very far and few and they don't  pay us much attention for financial or social reasons, things have certainly changed over the years more interracial relationships on the rise, but not to be-labor my point, still it is taboo and for a black man to bring home a white girl from the islands he's immediately exalted.

I would'nt even bother to engage in any argument that reggae better than soca visa versa, but I will say this going back to the older generations where would byron lee be without sparrow,he only shot to prominence when he included the mighty sparrow, and at that point in the very early 60's reggae was maybe at infant stage, bob marley a struggling artist until he formed the wailers in 1967,so before they call soca devil music, all them jamiacan women is the devil diciples, because they can't get enough soca in dey soul they "love it".These people who perpetrate this ongoing labeling of soca is the same people who stand to benefit from it,yuh see when they run out ah material they dus turn to eventually soca.In my final words I would say this we all need to show solidarity in the world of caribbean music and give props to those who deserve it,wherever they may be from.

Everybody get props for making good points,in particular spideys comments, but doh get confuse if yuh hear the horse out the gate, yuh see despite the  laws and rules that govern they were meant to broken if it suits there purpose. In seabras case ah doh tink so,maybe the likes of a beckham or the great maradona in his day........

football king I think yuh have it right, here's a little piece from the trinidad football digest I got off the website, and they quote:The tranquility government secondary school's senior football team has a rich and proud history in the secondary school's football league.

In the 1970's Tranquility etched an indelible mark on the football landscape in the north zone, winning four intercol championship trophies, including a hattrick of victories in 72,73,and 74 following which we got to keep the boac trophy, symbol of football supremacy in the north.

1974 remains our most successful year.We played unbeaten through to the National Intercol final against presentation college. An astounding hattrick from the boot of our prolific scorer,center-forward winston "tom" phillip gave the boys in yellow and black a 5-1 victory, and our first lien on the national intercol trophy.

                               INFO FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH.

2148
I would have to agree with you vb,but at one point we had a good spell in the early 80's nothing significant but at least competitive.

2149
I was doing some research and what I saw was tranquility was dominant in the early 70's winning an unprecedented 3 in ah row 73,74,75 also wiining a fourth during that period as well,no team correct me if I'm wrong has yet to duplicate that, they owe most of there success to the great tom phillip ah boss forward.

« on: September 11, 2005, 07:18:37 AM »
The Mexican League I don't know about that one,I was hearing some talk months ago that them mexicans racist like hell especially to english speaking caribbean countries,I don't know how true that is maybe someone could let me know, but as far as I care if we have good players that could make a difference they should play anywhere of there choosing,if the team would have them,as far as the mls most american players like the idea of central american, caribbean countries playing in the mls,the more they get accustom to our style of play the easier they could dish we up in the concacaf region.by the way could anyone tell me how many black players in the mexican league.

He young, plus he ent getting much playing time with the likes of stern and yorke as the teams starters, but look out in 2years he go be deadly in the front, reminds me somewhat of ah gary liniker, maybe lacking less speed than gary, let's rally around him and show some support, look so he made some mistakes,we all do when faced with challenges.

Here's a few of my choices:cornell glen defintely a take it to the defense player, scott sealy who happens to have potential as a gary liniker in the making, will compliment glen very well. Also kenwynne jones good skills good ball control in tight spaces, and others I would love to see is jerron nixon great player working down the flanks, and whatever happened to terry st.louis

Things get real bad with tranquil boy, when I played back then we never get dat kinda licks,ah mean sometimes they beat we and we beat them, but something either wrong with the players or the coaching,or maybe fatima must be really good,I eh following college football from where I'm at,but if anyone could give me an update with the standings,I'll be grateful.
