If the Prem require West Ham to get the going rate. I figure the premier league thinks, West Ham are the rightful owners of him and if a fee is not given to them. It then becomes suspicious to the Prem as to what there recent ruling on the previous case should have been. It looks as though West Ham will have to receive Millions for him.

turf in the rain is real fun to play on - better than natural grass i find. but in normal conditions, natural grass.

Maybe they should just soak the field before each games? Then I guess the fake stuff wins hands down? ;D

I am not a big fan of Artificial turf. I had a friend who tour his ACL on it, but it seems the ones being created today has come a long way from what I am hearing in the industry. I have to really try it to see how it feels. trinidad and Tobago recently purchased one from this company

I heard it's really close to the real thing.

That commentator to excited boy. Both goal keepers moved on the penalty. The last one was magnified because it was the penalty that won it.

Yorke always cheesing boy1 He and Stern especially. The field real crisp for real. Love to play on that boy.

Come on fellas, there is even a discussion on this? Given the achievement dating back from college years right up to his senior career nobody has a better resume. Yorke is total class man. Simply a joy to watch.

Here is my history:
-Soul City Tobago - Under 14, 16, and U18. Then played with the senior team. Right Wingback and Midfield.
-Elizabeth's College Tobago - Always had a hard time with Yorke Signal hill. Defense and midfield
-Had a short stint at St Clair's Coaching school at senior level before I accepted an athletic scholarship to -New York Institute of Technology Played some good ball was striker and midifileder for the most part. I -also played some ball in Cleveland North Coast league with the Samba boys. The entire team was made up of guys from the Caribbean. Even one guy from the Strike squad "Marlon Morris" Very skillful dude.

That reminds me, The strike squad had some really great players. That was a bomb squad

The problem with that is, if you have too many players from one country on a team you could have a shortage of key players when international duty calls.

played in the Premier, but as you know most players who played in that League got banned from the National Team

any of the older heads care to explain to the youths what went on here? what is this premier and why they were banning players?

The Premier League was run by Arthur Suite and came at a time when the National Players and team administrators were truly frustrated with Jack Warner and the TTFA.  Imagine winning the league and then being told that there is no prize money but look a trophy.  One would have to experience a TTFA election to understand how corrupt the TTFA was back then. Thinking back on it now it was really funny.

Arthur Suite was the owner of ASL which offered decent salaries to players because the truth be told in those times the only professional teams in T&T were Police and the Defense Force (and still football was not their first job).  The Premier League provided serious dollars to the teams, most from Arthur Suite pocket but gate receipts were good back then.  When you went to a Premier game in PSA ground on a Friday night it had real crowd.  Rivalries from the South, East and North was still alive and kicking.  The brand of football was good, real good.

The sad thing was the entire national team was in the Premier League with the exception of the Army and Police players who stayed in the TTFA league.  ASL had players like Spann, Sammy Llewelyn, Ralph "Arab" Nelson, Ron La, Spiderman Carter, Marlon Charles.  Although it is my belief that Jack Warner was at his weakest and on his way out then,  Arthur Suite made a deal with the devil to join back with the TTFA.

Banning the players was what Jack and the TTFA thought would force the players back from this breakaway league that was threatening his position.  I believe the main reason Suite entertain rejoining the TTFA was in the best interest of the players and the country (and not to appear like Jack a dictator doing things against the wishes of the players), to allow them to represent the National Team once again.  Although there was not as great an interest from England for our players in thos times, the banned players could not play for the National team or particpate in Concacaf Club championship and as a result really could not be exposed to the likes of the NASL at the time (although it was a dying league showed interst in a number of player). Also players could showcase their skills when Suite brought some real big teams home to play ASL: Flamengo with Zico, Arsenal, All Black EPL team with Cyril Regis, Cosmos with Pele, etc.  The fact is having known a lot of those players, the National Team with all the crap from Jack was a major accomplishment and was what most of them played for.  So most of them actually voted to join back with with the TTFA.

I also think Arthur Suite had big personal plans but after he joined back with the TTFA, Jack cut his throat.  He again formed another breakaway league but the initial momentum was lost and that soon merged with the TTFA which had regained its strength in Local football.  Suite had some money problems at the same time with his business, so he could not (or did not care to) pump the same sort of funding into the football as previously.  The gates were not as big as in the Premier League days and the best of the best were split between the leagues unlike before where all of the big players not tied to Police and the Defense Force went with Suite.

Those were some good times.

Blessings

Jack Warner is a real snake boy. My father told me about him along time ago. He said, "Imagine, back in the day the country wanted to start a professional league and Jack Warner banned it because he was not directly involved in it and that he could not profit from it". This guy is totally destroying football in T&T, even from so far back. very sad. What I want to know is, why our government is just sitting by and watch this happen?

I have to say being from Tobago, I have seen first hand the things this guy did. He really work his socks off. Sometimes players need outside experience to believe they can be successful. I think that is what had happened to him during qualifiers. I have been one of his students. Great man.

74
Why the bargaining table. It eh have nutten to bargain right Jack. They greedy.

Good point they man. If they greedy why u even want to bargain about some type of settlement? Isn't it because you want to offer them some type of compensation, but not what you promise to give them in the first place. I believe this man take what ever money T&T give him to give the players. Since we on the topic of greedy, who was it that was selling inflated ticket prices to local fans for the world cup. His motivation is not the development to T&T football, but more his purse. I can't say enough about this AS#HOLE.

I after admit, at first I thought after BEENE left the federation should have gotten someone with some good experience of the national seen. I aslo have to admit, I am very impress with what he done with does youths. Them fellas on the field look like bout 18 yrs old. I like the Dutch stile of play and I like what he has done so keep him. What we should do on the other hand, is to get rid of or federation including Jack Warner. He sucking T&T bad. I was always convince that we had some raw talent that we need to invest seious money in.

I will give the lines man the benefit. This is the first time I am seeing this angle. It looks like offsides to me. Given the quickness of the break the lines man probably could not make the call. And I still wonder why the people(US) who controlling the replay never saw it fit to show that perspective on the replay in slow motion. I also wonder about the handball appeal. Is almost like it never happened. Fellas, I know Trinidad played tata and probably did not deserve to win that game, but these calls are crucial points in the game. Before that goal the team started to get a foot-hole in the game. God bless!

I never said for certain the man was offside. I am just saying it's funny how we don't see the line on the replay and also the shout for had ball. Just an observation fellas. Don't get your balls in a bunch. Not one of you can say for certain what happened.

Me eh know wha wrong wit allyuh nah.

Man talkin bout Donovan offside and US TV bias.

Wipe some yampee out allyuh eye nah.

Check dem replay.

Donovan pass de ball infield and begin he run down de line.

At dat point, he was BEHIND de wing back

De wing back SEE Donovan makin he run and start runnin back wit him.  He had at least a 5 step headstart

The return pass for Donovan was made with Donovan STILL behind de wing back who was runnin back wit him

De win back (Pacheco I tink it was) den realize dat despite de head start he had....Donovan runnin faster dan he

So smart man decide he eh gettin embarass....HE PULL UP, RAISE HE HAND, AND LOOKIN AROUND FUH OFFSIDE...not realizin dat embarassin he even more.

I never see dat before.   A man runnin back to cover and seemingly decide..."not me nah..sun too flickin hot....lemmeh play fuh offside".

WTF?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dem man have to realize is not Aranguez Savannah dem takin a sweat een.  >:(

Please tell me where you saw that replay. Please let me know when u see it. That is my point.

I feel he Donovan was onside when the ball was played, didnt really see a replay to verify, but what i do know was that donovan ran to goal so fast, he outran the TT defense, then he played the ball acoss to his left, but the ball was played slightly forward than a square pass. When the ball was played across goal to Eddie Johnson, there were no defenders keeping pace with Johnson.

Johnson was offside.

Johnson couldnt be offsides as the ball was in front of him.  Good goal, tired defending pedestrian defense caused the goals.

This team fought byut they remind me of the Warriors under Bertille.  Can't trap. can't pass..give de ball awy under NO pressure at all.

Weren't talking about Johnson.

There is no US camera crew. Every station showing the games have the exact same feed. Whether FSC or GolTV or de spanish stations. They all show the exact same images.
Idiot, they show the same feed that the US video control center choose to show. They have no control over that. One simple question. Did you see a replay of the line? Everywhere else in the world of football you would see a replay to for doubters. I recall seeing a lot of replays when the US players were onside for offside calls.

« on: June 10, 2007, 05:28:31 AM »
One thing I notice with the US camera crew. If it was not offsides they would have showed the line of the defense and when the ball was played. Secondly, Trinidad had an appeal for hand ball on a goal attempt and instead of the US showing it over on the replay, they opted for showing the goal that they scored a few minutes ago. Which was already shown several times. I am tired of this bias broadcasting.

They have guys playing out of position. I think they are capable of beating this team. Jones had a great chance to score just before he went off
