Whatever happen to Lawson? The Aussies really sabotage him good, after he took 7 for 57 against them 4-5 years ago!
I hate this song
Clearly you are not well informed about the game so I am replying this last time and then no more. I like a good debate as much as the next guy, but you must show that you know what you're talking about.
Collins was selected for the Sri Lanka series, but had to withdraw because of the contract issue. What is the point in picking Smith as a fielder when he makes no runs. We don't pick fielders, we pick batsmen or bowlers and they are expected to field. If in your opinion he is a better bowler than Powell or Benn so be it, you're entitled to think that. Where is the statistical evidence (at the very least) to back up this claim?
Ganga is a proven failure at the international level... PERIOD! Again, why compare down to someone else who is not up to the level of the game? Nash and Findlay have just started. Nash in 2 test matches in New Zealand scored 162 runs at an average of 74 with 2 50s. Add 55 to it in this match here in Jamaica. Findlay has yet to play a test match. Ganga in 48 matches averages 25 and Samuels in 29 averages 28 and has as many 50s. Ganga spoiled his own career and I'm sure he is man enough to accept it. I don't understand how they've had better chances than Ganga to prove themselves at the international level.
Do your research properly and then comment. Don't just speak on emotion of wanting to see a T&T player on the Windies team.
Talent and $1 will buy you a Guardian newspaper.
Who has won the most regional competitions over the last 5 years?Which country is strongest in cricket in the Caribbean at the moment?
trinidad and tobago, which country has the most youth talent? trinidad and tobago
Honest question.
Again, if we were that good we wouldn't be in 4th place in the regional competition. We have some good looking players, but we are not good enough by any stretch of the imagination to go it alone. I will say again if the likes of Bermuda is our reason for going on our own then we have set the bar ridiculously low.
I agree with acb up to a point. Our current structure is decent as it is. Culturally though those community/borrough/state type competitions are more tricky to launch here. In places like England or Australia for example their local (state) governments have provisions to sponsor and support a county-like structure. Add to that corporate sponsorship, strong community support (bigger populations) and better infra-structure you'd find that we'd be hard pressed to duplicate a system like that.
If it isn't broke don't fix it. While we can always look at ways to improve what we have there's no reason to change it at this point.
the reasoning for a county league is to have our players playing regularly and take up cricket full time while having a good salary to do so. the reason why the aussies and south africa, england have done so well is bc their players play year round, we need to do this also.
I agree that they need to play more cricket and at a higher level as well, but completely changing the current system doesn't need to happen for that. They already have a well organised club system in place... innovate as rotatopoti said, and that can be as simple as adding competitions (cups, etc.).

Any team with Dwayne Smith on it is shit, pure and simple. Ganga is good regionally, but a proven international failure. Collins is not eligible for the Windies because of a contract in England (since the Sri Lanka series last year). Your picks are dubious at best. They not beating anyone, not even this current Windies team.
How long Bravo go be recovering? I saw him walking down Frederick Street a couple weeks ago. At this stage I don't think one pick is much different from another. The selectors are desperate and it shows. I think Chattergoon should have been given at least a match in this home series before dropping him. They also need to be more consistent with their spinner selection. Nikita Miller is a better Test match bowler than Benn, plus these guys need extended runs in the team. This in today out tomorrow thing is no good for them.
We'll see how they put together the team come match day. It seems like #4 and the opener are the problem spots in the batting line-up. Interesting to see if Devon Smith plays at 4 with Richards partnering Gayle or if they'll push Chanders to 4, Nash to 5 and Smith at 6.

He was being extremely sarcastic and not very subtle about it either. Marshall is certain to be dropped after this match. Everyone else has looked far more comfortable than him in this match, even Smith who made 6. We've been needing a good opener for some time now.
but we should have carded a friendly against an international team along with the tour.... but say waI thought Chile was originally scheduled but pulled out
yea but we couldnt get on the phone with another South American/Central American Country?
