Someone in here said they really dont see Mexico dismantling this T&T team. He said this T&T team too good.  Who was that truehaitian?

 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good at what exactly??

Mexico will do the same against Haiti

Haiti next!

Haiti's next ..Really! Mexico will do the same to Haiti..Really

Haiti 0 Mexico 0

Haiti hit Mexico's goal post twice and could have easily won the game..

Now wait for them to easily dismantle this poorly defensive T&T team

I really don't see this. This T&T team is a good team. This team can be fixed to be a power house in the Caribbean along with Haiti

I watch  Haiti destroyed Guyana 6-2 in Guyana.  Haiti was all power and attacking football. I doubt very much that was Guyana 2nd team playing. I doubt this current TT team can measure up to Haiti.
[/quote]

That team was really Haiti C team with one regular national team player , the goaly. the team was made up of  mostly U23 players straight out of Haiti. Haiti's best are currently in France lighting up the score board in France D2 league. They wouldn't come to play for Haiti due to disagreement with the current coach that they had publicly criticized in the media. They put together a B team. Most of that B team players couldn't get US visa to go to Guyana since there are no straight fly from Haiti to Guyana. That team that destroyed Guyana at home was mainly Haiti U-23 local based players and would probably take care of Guyana again tomorrow to move up Haiti in league A and a spot in the next GC.

I'm predicting a 1974 encore....a repeat performance of T&T over Mexico in the 1974 CONCACAF finale in Haiti.
T&T 4  Mexico 0..

Only this time around,  the 72-year old, star of the 1974 finale,  Warren Archibald will be watching somewhere in Brooklyn, of course not on the field.  LOL

By the way, most people don't know that not Jamaica, Haiti, or Cuba but  Suriname is the Caribbean nation with the winningest record against T&T...

Wasn't Warren  Archibald, A.K.A “Laga” on that team. I didn't notice his name in the lineup.

According to my data, T&T has a winning record against Suriname.

Archibald came on the national scene in 1967.

Well, you could be right if you're looking at https://www.11v11.com. More often than not, their Caribbean records are different than the Oficial FIFA record. Is Archibald by the way still alive? This guy was so much fun to be around and watch in Haiti in 1973. He joined the street band heading to the stadium when T&T wasn't playing..he acted like he was a Haitian and had been in the country forever....He promised the Haitians the victory and asked them to stay put and at ease and guarantee a win against Mexico.... Haiti needed  Mexico to lose to be out of the world cup mix so bad.... When the T&T Bus pulled up to the stadium parking lot from the hotel before the Mexico game..while he was getting off the bus, his left hand had shown a  big O and his right hand 4 fingers to the awaited Haitian fans...another T&T player claimed that Mexico is for dinner this evening.... the rest is history.. to the delight of the Haitian fans...T&T 4 Mexico 0...I don't think no Caribbean teams ever beat Mexico before or after by 4 goals..That 1973 night was special.. Glad to have been at that game......I don't think we will ever see that again .. "a Caribbean team beating Mexico by 4 goals in a serious competition".... at least not in this century..LOL

I just tuned in to Haiti v BGI. They were taking the ball out of the Bajan net.  Match restarted at the center circle  and Haiti immediately retrieved the ball and scored in a matter of seconds. 5-0 with less than 30' on the clock. Both of those goals by Dumornay.
make that 12-0 Haiti, Haiti has now scored 33 goals in 4 games.

it sad dat we often have to choose between resting starters, losing momentum and d added effect of denting d confidence of d backup players does also be ah factor, not to mention dat d first team does miss d opportunity of a tough test
Absolutely correct about momentum.. Did they need a rest or did they need a tougher test ? Also what about destroying the confidence of the substitutes. A reserve player plays with the top players against any opposition. Resting one or two players for knocks is sensible, but more than half the team... is a not practical imo

There are valid arguments on both sides to rest or not rest multiple starters. But this is a common strategy in tournaments. We know our teams are typically not among the fittest, and the girls have been playing games every two days. None of the girls have really been active because SSFL and USA Colleges are not in season, and the team has not been together long. So what yuh really want dem to do?

But I do agree that psyche of the team has to be managed well. In any event, the margin of defeat just shows us that the squad lacks depth. There are other players that could have been brought in, but school commitments prevent some from being here.

Of course if we don't achieve the stated objective of reaching the quarterfinal then it would be shown to be a colossal error.
I too criticize the Haitian coach for not resting his starters after the first Half when the game was 5-0  at half time. But I still don't understand the logic of avoiding Barbados to play Puerto Rico, on paper PR is higher rank and a better opponent historically..Barbados only really beats Anguila and Grenada and losing 4-1 to St Kitts that both T&T and Haiti anahanilated. Bbn.        PR had a tougher route to get here than Barbados

It will be an interesting one between the soca girls and  Haiti on Thursday..

We need to watch Melchie Dumornay, she seem like allyuh best player.

What is de benefit of winning this game?

We go get ah easier opponent if we win?

Dumornay is in fact Haiti's best player at 16, she played and scored for all 4 Haitian women teams (U-17, U20, U-23, and the senior team) and not to mention she has already played in the U-20 world cup as a 14 year old in 2018. the youngest player to start at 14 in the 2018 WC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yFXJpGFrsw, She replaced Nerilia Mondesir in the u-20 Squad who's the Carribean all times scoring leader at the U-20 level.. ( Nerilia Mondesir in action the all times Caribbean scoring leader in action, one of her many Hat tricks : (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsoMEDHtgf0)

US and Guyana are coming off  back to back losses.  US went down1-0 to Jamaica and 3-0 to Venezuela and  Guyana lost 1-0 to Bermuda and 3-1 lost to Haiti in less than week. You will see a different USMNT for the Gold cup. Some significant changes are happening as we speak. The US roster for the upcoming gold cup will be far different than the one that played Venezuela and Jamaica.

Hope is a 25-year-old winger who currently plays for English League Two club Carlisle United. He was born in England but qualifies to play for Barbados through his father.

Twenty-eight-year-old defender Pearce represents Mansfield Town, also in League Two. The six-footer has played for England at the Under-17 and Under-19 levels, and qualifies for Barbados duty also through his father.

Hope scored both goals to tied the game with Guyana 2-2 . Both were still eligible to play for Barbados  providing  they changed their alliance from England to Barbados and had gotten clearance from FIFA., Barbados submitted the application for both Hope and Pierce but they couldn't wait for FIFA clearance and used them both in the game against Guyana prior to FIFA approval.

Even though a player born elsewhere may be eligible to represent his country, he/she still has to be cleared by FIFA. Guyana knew all about it even before the game..filed a complaint with FIFA and won.

Now with  3-0 automatic win, 6 points and a + 10 goals difference, Guyana can be qualify for a GOLD cup  spot and even can even find themselves in league A next year with a win over Belize  and some losses by the top 6 teams in the nation league

That's not the first time this happen to Barbados. In a WCQ game against Aruba, they submitted an application with FIFA 2 days before a WCQ game and used the player before FIFA clearance and got disqualified.

Haiti , Jamaica, T&T who also used a lot of foreign  based players, players from MLS and from other  league never got disqualified because they played their cards well. It's the lower rank Caribbean teams who always got them-self in trouble..

Miami (Thursday, December 6, 2018) – The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) today announced its Disciplinary Committee has decided to sanction the Barbados Football Association, by declaring as a forfeit the Concacaf Nations League Qualifying match played against Guyana, on September 6, 2018.

After due examination of the evidence, the Committee determined that the Barbados Football Association infringed the applicable articles of the Tournament Regulations and the Regulations Governing the Application of the FIFA Statutes in relation to the eligibility of players to play for representative teams by fielding ineligible players Hallam Hope and Krystian Pearce.

In accordance with articles 55 and 31 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, the Barbados Football Association is considered to have lost the match against Guyana by a score of 3-0.

The result of the match played against El Salvador on October 13, 2018 is upheld in accordance with article 31 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, with a score of 3-0 in favor of El Salvador

Curacao is establishing themselves as a force in Concacaf.. They could have played without a goal keeper. Curacao 10 - 0 Grenada.
Haiti could have also played without a goal keeper as well with a 13-0 annihilation and demolition of St Maarten.

I am not arguing my man, I understand exactly what you're saying. All I was trying to say you would have seen quality soccer had Haiti world cup team in that mix in  Jamaica. Their u-20/CFU  team is actually their senior team. I just don't agree with yoru statement CFU teams can't  compete with teams like Mexico, Costa Rica and Canada...

Football / Re: 2018 Caribbean Women's World Cup Qualifiers

With all due respect your opinions Mr. Sando, I really disagree. Haiti has not only been very competitive with the Concacaf teams but even  with the top dogs in the world. The U-20 team= on their way to the world cup has eliminated Canada, Costa Rica and only losing on Penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie with the US and at the world stage going toe-to-toe with Germany, china losing 3-2, 2-1. These are semi finalist teams at the world cup.

Haiti did not make it to Jamaica at the CFU final for a simple reason, 7 out of the U-20 team players were actually top players from the senior team and were in France for the world cup. The world cup games were more important than the CFU qualification games. Even with Haiti bench or B team, they held Jamaica to a 2-2 tie after taking a 2-0 lead. Jamaica moved on because they had score 2 more goals than Haiti against a previous opponent.

Disagree about Haiti playing sweet. They are also poor but you can see they were prepared and we were not.
They have 2 decent players who are mobile and that is all it takes against this T&T side.

FF with all due respect to you my fellow Caribbean friend, I don't know what game were you watching when you say you disagree that Haiti was playing sweet football. No Haiti was not playing poorly and Yes Haiti, I was playing sweet football. In fact very sweet football. Much respect to your girls, they played very hard but I really don't  even remember that T&T even took a shot at the Haitian goalie in the 2nd half. It was all Haiti in the second half. If it wasn't for some incredible save by your goalie , that game should really have been a 5-2 games not to mention several missed opportunities by Haiti in the first half. Haiti is really the U-20 Caribbean champion not Jamaica. Haiti girls were coached and told to allow 1 or two goals from JA and not to score so that they can finish second  in their group to avoid Mexico and USA  and assure to themselves a spot in T&T group .

With all those players from the UK and dem still down 3 nil at half time, sometimes it's not worth having them...more problems than it's worth.

TrueHaitian, why always these visa problems?

The Trinis gave us the same visa problem most of the time.. a lot of time we arrive on the same day that tournaments are being held in Trinidad. These countries don't trust us and always think we're looking to stay their Countries. Haitians mostly like the US and Canada and only looking to stay in these countries..not Costa Rica for sure..I was there last summer and believe me I couldn't see a lot to cheer about..
