Figge quit in 1995 after the TTFF rescinded disciplinary action on Anton Cornmeal, Dwarika and another fella for breaking curfew during a tour of Argentina. He said he could not work under such conditions. Vranes apparently could, and well we all remember the disaster that was World Cup Qualification for 1998 (booted out in the semis).

I should add, too, that I don't think we have ever had a team as good as the 1989 Strike Squad.

The 1973 team. I can't recall any other National Team beating Mexico by 4 goals, also at that time only 1 team used to qualify for the WC. Everyone knows they were robbed and were supposed to be the winners of that tournament.

Jack say T&T supposed to beat Grenada with 6 men. He also said " I doh want to hear about team selection" Carapichaima or Mucorapo woulda beat Grenada. Serious !!

Yes he did say that, I heard it also  :rotfl: All in all it sounds like Maturana and hopefully Corneal will be gone. Time to bring in a top quality coach and bury the hatchet with the government and have some serious dialogue on getting the National Team to the WC.

Maturana still have to GO and Cornmeal. The only reason we getting good results is that we SOS all the world cup players after the Bermuda debacle. Honestly I really don't know who in charge of that team, the first half against Cuba we look like shit and we damn lucky we didn't go into the half a goal or two down. We cannot go into the Hex playing like that. My gut feeling is the players really have no respect for Dumbtist or Cornmeal and they look to Dwight and Russel for leadership. If I was Jack I would be looking for someone like Beenhakker right now. A coach the players will respect and know will organise the team properly.

Well put together R45. I was thinking about the teams in the Hex also and when comes to El Salvador we can beat them home and away thats the team we need to take maximum points from. It is not too late also to bring in a better coach than dumbtist!

Guyana again man, steups >:( That not helping our preparations we helping them. We should be playing better quality teams, damn. All this doing is making Maturana and Cornmeal look good. We should be looking to play some South American teams or some lower ranked European teams even if their second string teams. Those teams will provide a much better test for our boys, frig man. >:(

Leonson Lewis

Oh wait, wrong year, hehe. They still my favourite team though ;) $50.00 Covered $30.00 uncovered. I remember it like yesterday. I was in the middle of the covered stands it was so bloody hot and had to sit there from 9 in the morning, fraid to get up and take a piss and thing cuz u go lose your seat. What a day! ;D

All kicks aside we have to have our best team on that day, no chances to be taken. After we will get rid of Maturana and Cornmeal.

Lasana is spot on as usual (I don't know why Anil Roberts like to diss him so much). It will be best to get rid of Maturana (and Corneal) after the Cuba game and bring in a top quality coach with Latas as his assistant. Jack and the Government need to put their differences aside and come to a consensus with regards to paying him  and assisting the team. I personally prefer the dutch system but I know others would have their recommendations. My personal opinion was it was wrong to fire Wim as it screwed up the continuity from the WC. Anyway the new coach must come immediately after the Cuba game so he will have some time to organise the team before the Hex. Now is not the time to be experimenting with players (A squad should have been in place since last year). It needs to be done now not during the Hex when it will be too late. This rounds, fourth place is not an option because most likely it will be Uruguay we will have to play and I am very sorry, they will cut we arse coming and going. Just my opinion, don't hate me for it ;)

Maturana and Corneal still have to go!!!

49
I new to d forum  :) Congrats to the team but I still feelin' uneasy. We still have alot of work to do but definitely we need to get rid of Maturana and Corneal. The fact we relying on men in their 30's (and 40's!!) to pull us through says alot about the state of football in this country when it comes to development. We also should not lose focus, that USA team was their reserve team, in the hex it will be a different story. We have alot of work to do and not much time to do it. I do not want to take away from the euphoria of the win (it's always nice to beat the USA) but we must remain real. Jus' my 2 cents.
