All the Best Birchall! You always played with heart and your goals for T&T, tho few in number, were significant. If you decide to retire, thanks for the memories Me Mum, and best wishes in your club career!

Congrats to S.H. and and welcome back L.B.H.!!! Tim Kee deserves kudos for this move! :applause:
Whoever got appointed, there would have been critics...at the end of the day, let the RESULTS speak for themselves, but some patience will be needed, given where we are starting from. I woud like in the interest of transparency to know WHERE/WHO the funding is coming from, SPONSORS should be given their PR after all, and certainly the interim Coaches must be paid their due! Exciting days and weeks ahead!

...

Playing away from home, against a strong European team, I'd go with 4 at the back, with Cyrus as Def Mid allowing us to better compete in the middle with 5 mids, as well as his height advantage defending corners.

Romania and Estonia are really weak European teams ... but point taken.
Estonia YES, but Romania are NO pushovers, they generally compete very well in Europe against the bigger teams, and given the relative inexperience of both our Coaching staff and the majority of T&T's line-up of playing IN Europe, I expect two very tough matches Ayslum...

Football / Re: Why are there no Pro League teams in Tobago?
« on: May 07, 2013, 03:35:03 PM »
Hi Debbie. Welcome to SocaWarriors.net...I hope you survive the experience :)

Re Tobago, you are correct in that are PHENOMENAL atheletes there, but sadly they do NOT get the support they need, and many opt to come over to Trinidad to further their careers.

In so far as to why there is CURRENTLY no Tobago team in the PFL, it's partially related to the migration to Trinidad issue I mentioned above, and also because the talent pool is further diluted among the teams in the Super League and Minor Leagues...as for no TOBAGO PFL, I guess it comes back to lack of SPONSORSHIP...we have posters resident IN Tobago eg. Doc who might be able to shed some more light on that.

Dexter Skeene is the CEO of the PFL, he cannot legislate to Tobago, and would be promptly put in his place if he or whoever else sits in that chair were to try.

For news on W. Connection and PFL games, check out the "Digicel 2012-2013 Pro League FACEBOOK page...but to answer your question -

Excellent interview Flex! As a fellow Chelsea supporter and a huge admirer of Didier Drogba myself, he certainly has picked an EXCELLENT striker to try and emulate, however, I agree with Sam's point on Winchester's game being too slow, but the fact that he is starting and scoring fairly consistently hopefully means that playing at a higher level than the Pro-league has improved his game. I wish him a speedy recovery and keep the T&T flag flying high S.W.!!!

Football / Re: U-17: T&T vs Panama Thread (13-Apr-13)

'Game of our lives'
By Shaun Fuentes (TTFF).

Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 17 footballers will try to repeat the feat accomplished by ex-national captain Leston Paul and his teammates in 2007 when they face off with Panama from 8pm on Saturday knowing that a win will see them qualify for the 2013 FIFA Under 17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

In 2007, with current Technical Director Anton Corneal at the helm, T&T defeated Jamaica 1-0 on a first half winner by Kevin Molino at the National Stadium in Kingston to advance to the Under 17 World Cup in South Korea.

From 6pm on Saturday, current head coach Shawn Cooper will attempt to lead his team to a significant win once again against the host nation at the Estadio Agustín Muquita Sánchez in La Chorrera.

T&T were not permitted use of a training facility for a requested time of 8am on Friday which meant that a late evening session was scheduled in what has been relatively dry conditions since the tournament kicked off last Saturday.

But Creed and his teammates remained focused on the task ahead and do not intend to let any distractions get in their way.

“We are going to the game in a positive frame of mind. We have faith in God and faith in our ability and right now we are just focusing on the task at hand,” Creed told TTFF Media on Friday at the Intercontinental Playa Bonita Resort where Panama, Canada and Jamaica are also based.

No Jake Thompson. No Andre Boucaud and No Christopher Birchall... IF J. Lloyd Samuel didn't get call up I would have been convinced there is a black-list on English-BORN players... given that the current TD is the man who rejected the player whose goal helped knock us out of Brazil 2014 I'm not entirely convinced I'm wrong either...a question I will put to the powers that be first chance I get...what do you fellas think?

Football / Re: Birchall NOT in Caribbean Cup Squad
« on: December 01, 2012, 06:31:41 PM »
Firebrand re Birchall - maybe the exclusion is due to injury, but it was Jamal's comments about other colored lists and "...who we have..." that piqued my interest...hopefully Shaun will clarify the info on Birchall not being in the team...as for De Leon, I think Leroy is advising him to hold his hand re playing for T&T AT THIS POINT IN TIME, because he asked Andre Baptiste "...would YOU want your son or daughter coming into T&T football with all uncertainty going on..." but I got the impression that Nick wants to play for T&T...

Football / Birchall NOT in Caribbean Cup Squad
« on: December 01, 2012, 05:29:57 PM »
I was just listening to an interview with Jamal Shaabaz on I-95.5fm and when asked, he said words to the effect that Birchall was not being considered "...at this stage of the competition" but "...the door remains open", and "given who they have now and getting tickets etc" ... when pressed to say whether this info was communicated to Birchall he said he was now getting into understanding how things are being done and wouldn't want to mislead the listening public...as far as a blacklist, he said "maybe not, but apparently there's still a blue list or a red list...
Leroy De Leon also called into the program and his son apparently feels slighted and is now weighing his options re T&T given as Leroy says, the current turmoil in T&T football"....and the sh#@! continues....

This is the only site that I have been able to find so far :-

http://www.flashscore.com/

A goal in each half - A header from Defender Josiah Trimmingham off a cross from Mathew Woo Ling and a drive from Captain Brendon Creed in the 2nd half was enough for the young Soca Warriors to top their Group with full 9 points. I like the looks of this team, good possession, pressure on the opposition and willing to take shots from outside are the positives, along with discipline in maintaining their positions... negatives would be that Guyana and Suriname players were able to knock them off the ball, so they need to toughen up when the opposition gets rougher eg Jamaica, and poor finishing from the players up front... but overall the team has great potential to go forward.
