Football / Re: Kamla says no to Jack investigation
« on: February 18, 2012, 02:10:40 PM »
Let's see if THIS one gets printed:-

[THE EDITOR]

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you this personal note regarding what I consider to be a serious omission on your part and that is the failure of you and your media organization to ask the necessary hard questions of Jack Warner regarding this behavior while an official of FIFA and especially his stewardship of LOC 2006 Ltd.

Over the years many reputable foreign journalists have asked these questions of Mr. Warner and got very unsatisfactory answers. Only Lasana Liburd, among local journalists has asked seriously probing questions of Mr. Warner and received either insults or ridiculous rants in return. While Mr. Warner spent 28 years at FIFA he amassed a personal fortune that, one reputable local senior council told me, is in the region of five hundred million Unites States dollars. Of course, the bulk of this money has come from being awarded the regional rights to football World Cup and other FIFA sanctioned world football tournaments.

Now, as you would know, an administrative official of a sporting organization has absolutely no right to pocket millions of dollars from TV rights to World Cup. You think the head of the English FA is awarded the English TV rights to the World Cup. Absolutely not. The rights have to be sold to a legitimate television station with the proceeds going to the regional football federation to develop youth and other football programmes for the region. Yet when Mr. Warner is exposed for personally receiving many millions of dollars from World Cup TV rights, not only do you not question him on the matter but you refuse to print my letters asking him the necessary questions on the matter.

Now, let us get to LOC 2006 Ltd. I am told by those in the know that the total amount of money received by this company would be close to 160 million TT dollars. There were 3 signatories to the account- Jack Warner, Darryl Warner and Daryan Warner. Now half of the revenue of that company was promised by Mr. Warner himself to the 2006 Soca Warriors and then afterwards instead of 80 million Mr. Warner offers them $400,000 dollars instead. If we ever get to the truth about what happened to the LOC 2006 fund, I am certain that a minimum of 60 million dollarshas ended up in the wrong place.

Let me now tell you what is really happening here. The late, great, Jeffrey Stollmeyer, was the President of the WIBC for 7 years, among his other contributions, and if you dared to suggest in a meeting that he should pocket TV rights to a cricket series the meeting would have ended right there. In addition, the icy glare you would have received from him also let you know you are no longer welcome to call him ever again.

Instead, we have Mr. Warner now establishing the precedent for regional sporting administrators to pocket the lions’ share of the revenue coming in to the sporting organizations they are in charge of. Like I said in a previously unprinted letter on the matter, it is like the Governor of the Central Bank receiving commissions from deposits the bank is holding from commercial banks. I now understand that both Messrs Rosseau and Dehrig also pocketed substantial amounts of WIBC money while negotiating TV rights on behalf of regional cricket for the 2007 cricket World Cup and the head of the Guyana cricket board is also now looking after himself, albeit In a much smaller way.

However, the point is that following Mr. Warners’ lead, sporting administrators in the region are now in it not for the love of the sport or to serve but to fill their own pockets and we have Jack Warner and a compliant media to thank for that.

 With great disappointment

VFFOTT Forum2 feat Secretary of the UK PFA Brendon Batson

Can any local-based attend? I am unable to:-

Veteran Footballers Foundation of Trinidad and Tobago
VFFOTT Forum 2
Thursday 23rd February 2012
Butcher’s Sports Plex, Barataria, 10.00am
GUEST SPEAKER: Brendon Batson, MBE
Secretary of the Professional Football Association of the United Kingdom
Brendon Batson was born in St. George's, Grenada and became one of the pioneer black football players in England.
His professional career began at Arsenal and went on to Cambridge United. However, it was at West Bromwich Albion that he made his mark on football, at a time when black players were subjected to extreme racism from football fans.
He was first signed as a semi professional player with Preston North End in 1886, as goalkeeper. His highpoint with Preston was to make it to the FA Cup semi finals in 1887 where they lost 3-1 to West Bromwich Albion. There was speculation at the time that Arthur was good enough to play for England, but he was never considered for the position by the FA, due in part to the racial prejudice of the time.
Along with his team-mates Cyrille Regis and the late Laurie Cunningham, he became a key figure at West Bromwich Albion in the late 1970s and early 1980s as members of The Three Degrees. After retiring from football following a terrible injury in October 1982, he established himself as one of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) senior administrators, rising to the position of deputy chief executive, responsible for developing the organization into one of the most important trade unions.
In 2000 he was awarded the MBE for services to football, and in 2002 he became Managing Director of West Bromwich Albion, his old team.

Football / FORGIVING ANGUS EVE By Andre E Baptiste
« on: February 16, 2012, 05:50:33 PM »
 ------- Forgiving EVE !!!!!-------

There will never be a good time, for harsh decisions. In fact, in life, there is possibly never a good time to take decisions that will adversely affect someone or the other. There is never the perfect time that will please all. As there will always be some amount of discontentment from those affected adversely by a decision or an incident.

Therefore for Angus Eve , a man I have a lot of time for as a football coach to say , that the time is not right for the Soca Warriors of 2006 to enforce their legally binding action against an errant Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) is both immature and unbecoming of someone in his position. As we speak, Eve is still (and only just if you believe some of the facts from 2011 when certain elements in the very same Football Federation wanted to remove him forthwith) our national Under 23 Football Coach and by all accounts and given the requisite assistance, by the performance of the team, certainly doing a good job inspiring these youngsters to believe in themselves.

I am just afraid that he has sadly become embroiled in politics by talking now ahead of his time, he should have said nothing and just continue his job as national coach, instead he has whether he likes it or not, whether he thought it out or not, he has aligned himself as a supporter of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation and possibly and this is the sad and distasteful part, Eve may now be considered by some as condoning the behavior of the TTFF. Incidentally , please do not say , they are his employers , so he must not only support them but also follow their directive , because I am clear in my mind , that Eve knows better than to take such an order from the TTFF , at this time. This has to have been his call, because he is very passionate coach and cares for his players, but I believe he has made a calculated error in his statements on the matter to date.

Trinidad and Tobago’s football brain power is limited and to –lash out – at some of those who have rightfully spoken out against the deeds of the TTFF in such a manner is not good for Eve’s future in the sport, post the Under 23 team, that is why if I was his advisor, I would have told him in his current position, silence is golden. Otherwise, why is it that I did not hear Angus attack the TTFF for making the changes to some of the management team ahead of the Olympic Qualifiers in the coming months? There was no statement on record, no press release, no public recordings of his dissatisfaction with the removal of the then manager Norris Ferguson, with his replacement William Wallace of cricketing fame assuming the new role to the bemusement of all. To me, and many others, that was more of a critical issue, as the former manager was not only knowledgeable about and around the affairs of the Under 23 players, but also well respected by them as well, and Ferguson’s removal is open to more questions because he was supportive of Keith Look Loy, against the acting President of the TTFF, Lennox Watson in the Eastern Football Association elections.

In life, we must pick our battles and try to be fair in our analysis, already many are now questioning the integrity of Angus Eve and this wrong, because I honestly believe he has the best intentions for the team and ultimately wants Trinidad and Tobago to qualify for the London Olympics. At the same time, like any human being in a competitive job market, such as football coaching, he has clearly identified that this is also a great opportunity to market and promote him and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And it is for that very reason, that I will again advise Angus to be careful not to burn bridges to please others, who may or may not care about your future.

Now, there are many that are saying that Angus has been misquoted and that this interview originated from the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation Media Officer – Shaun Fuentes - . And yes, while the latter is true, I have the utmost belief that Shaun Fuentes will only write what was said to him and also Shaun is a man known for recording his interviews, so let us all stop trying to pass the buck. Angus Eve made a mistake ….one which in time he will regret , but which for the moment he must attempt to fix, because he is about to derail the Under 23 team in their focus , if he accidently or intentionally alienates former coaches and players who like him have contributed severely to the sport of football in this country.

Perhaps this quote below, accredited to Angus Eve best describes how myopic, his thinking is or was (just maybe it has changed given time since stated)… “It’s not the right way to go by hoping FIFA steps in and this results in Trinidad and Tobago being asked to drop out of the international tournaments. We are talking about players who have worked very hard for over a year now to get this opportunity and if it is that the TTFF can facilitate this venture and the Ministry of Sport is supporting it, then by all means the program should go on…….I’m not saying this just because I am the coach of the team. Nothing is perfect and of course we want to see positive change but we should not take out two (Olympic team and U-17 Women’s team) of the shining lights in our football now because certain people just care about overhauling a TTFF organization,” he said.

“If this happens in terms of the programs ending, then we will have a next generation of players casting blame on the same past coaches and players for preventing them from playing international football. We’ve all been through this at some point but we had the chance to still pursue careers through football or by having the opportunity to play in a tournament,” added the ex-national captain Eve in the media release from the TTFF.

In the quotes above attributed to Angus Eve from the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation release , there are several assumptions made by Eve , that can be termed perplexing , because , here he is talking about an institution, which he admits , he and others have always faced difficulties ‘” We have all been through this at some point…” , and then he says of  the current players ,” We are talking about players who have worked very hard for over a year now to get this opportunity..”  Therefore are we to believe that Angus is equating all those many years of suffering by players without a players representation committee, without proper pay, without proper systems, without any after care for retired players to the fact that these under 23 players have been training for a year, if that is so then Angus has been inhaling too much of the rare air at the Football Federation, the kind that the least concerned environmental agencies would object too.

Angus also needs to be careful of those he is seen associating with and supporting; presently the incumbent and embattled Sports Minister Anil Roberts (Ask Anilllll!!!!!) is not very popular in sporting circles and even out of sporting circles, given many of the continued ills in the sports. If you add the ongoing investigation by the Integrity Commission to the Boxing matters involving Boxu Potts, Ashwin Creed and himself to the wrangling with cricket and athletics, one could believe it is better to stay as far away as possible from this particular minister. Last week’s decision by the esteemed and highly knowledgeable First Citizens Sports Foundation to select the athletic Association of Trinidad and Tobago (NAAA), as the best run sports organization in this country for the second consecutive year, speaks volume to the Ephraim Serrette run administration, which must leave the current Minister embarrassed.

“Let the boys at least get to play and if things can happen after that can mean betterment for Federation, then at least they would have been given an equal or fair opportunity. “Says Angus Eve.

When I read this , I wonder of Angus finally got it right and that he was talking about thirteen men who were still brave enough and strong enough to fight for something which every single court locally and internationally believes they are entitled . Because his words are correct, as these Soca warriors who have been battling and representing their country for much longer than these Under 23 players were not given “an equal or fair opportunity”.

Also let me address a misconception , which is that a verbal agreement /oral declaration is now recognizable by law and the courts have so stated that the players are owed a lot more than they have received so far and therefore , why should they not fight for it. As it will set a great example to any and all organizations in the Caribbean that you cannot simply make a commitment and then break your “trust” with the players. Oh and by the way , this case is not sub judice , it has indeed been long decided , but then again not everyone that talks about law or lives in a home with law material can read and understand it.

So while our football continues to be in turmoil administratively, let us hope those that can will forgive Angus Eve for his remarks and that he and the team can move on from this. I just hope all of his comments do not return to haunt him and the team in the short term.

Football / T&T Olympic Team Manager FIRED???
« on: January 15, 2012, 08:58:37 PM »
Fellow Forumites I think we can all agree that the current U-23/Olympic team has been the one shining light for our football in 2011 as evidenced by the fact that they are currently our only team preparing for any major tournament this year...they are also our next best hope for a 2nd senior World Cup appearance, as the nucleus of this team has played in both U-17 and U-20 World Cups, and should graduate to being our team for the "Road to Russia" campaign... one thing this group has displayed is a spirit of togetherness and tenacity sadly lacking in their senior counterparts... and one constant has been the presence of Team Manager Norris Ferguson... I have been told by a very reliable source that Mr Ferguson is soon to be replaced (read FIRED) even tho no reason for this has been forthcoming from the folks at the TTFF... but guess what? Norris Ferguson threw his support behind Keith Look Loy in the latter's recent (unsuccessfull) attempt to unseat current (Acting) TTFF President as then East Zone President, one, Lennox Watson! I myself found it strange that while the Coaches were named for the Senior and Olympic teams, followed quickly by the announcement of a "new" Technical Director, NO mention was made of Team Managers... so I (Foolishly as it turns out) assumed that the Manager who did his part in helping T&T get thru it's first two rounds of Olympic qualifiers, would have retained his position... and until someone in the TTFF can say WHY Mr Ferguson has been unceremoniously removed (word is that he has received NO corresspondence from his employers indicating that he has been replaced tho someone else is already lined up to take the reins when the team plays Finland in Tobago next week) I will look at this as yet another example of the vindinctive, nasty style of the characters running our football into the ground!!! So much for Mr Watson and his "NEW DAWN FOR T&T FOOTBALL"... yeah right!

RF PLEASE! JC was NOT being "hypocrical" in the LEAST he was simply trying to point out to some of the myopic people on this site that Guyana did what Jamaica did to qualify for France '98 with the influx of English-born players that they drafted into the Reggae Boyz team. When he says "big brother" he is referring to their foreign imports...besides Birchall, we have no other foreign-born on this current team.

I understand, and forgive me if i misread JustCool's post, but I for one think its highly hypocritical when posters seem to be OK with bringing in foreign coaches, but turn up their nose to the idea of brining in players from better leagues to help out on the field, players who most often come from households that have strong Caribbean culture. How is it that we are happy to bring in help from foreign countries to build highways and build our infrastructure, but its so wrong to invite our own people living outside to help us in the area of sports?
Fair enough... and I for one welcome any foreign-born player, as long as they are FULLY committed... Birchall has been an instrumental part of T&T's team since joining us in 2005...always willing to do the "dirty work" and give us 110%... he also scored the equalizing goal against Bahrain that helped us get to Germany...it would be great if we could get another like him! Good luck to the Boyz next rounds!

we didn't lose to a guyana team that was locally born and bred. as far i i know criss nurse, the cort brother and Ricky Shakes are all english boys. the guyana that we accustomed tuh beating up on went and got his big brother to do his fighting this time around, and it worked.

LOL...I can name about 8 English born players that T&T used over the years...including one very obvious player on the current team - Chris Birchall. Funny enough, you also went out of your way to get Ricky Shakes a T&T passport...so your statement above is somewhat hypocritical to say the least. If regional power-house USA can use players born outside its shores, why cant Guyana? Why cant T&T and Jamaica, Barbados, Grenada? If countries like Jamaica can give England John Barnes, Lindford Christie, Ian Wright etc, why cant we take back some of our own sons of the soil from them as well?
RF PLEASE! Football / Re: ‘Gally’ slams woeful ‘Warriors’
« on: November 13, 2011, 08:45:57 AM »
Gally, Vidale, and all the "Give we local coach" a chance have VERY short memories...in 2005 when it was clear that Bertille St Clair after having been given years to prepare a team, countless warm-up matches both home and abroad, had us on 1 point after 3 games (TWO of them HOME matches eh!), in the hex, was fired and promptly replaced by Beenhakker who then guided us to Germany, using a MIX of local AND foreign-based talent...MOSTLY foreign-based in the higher European Leagues...so MY opinion is that THIS formula is a blueprint for a successful WC campaign... ie get the BALANCE right....this "local squad in training all year round" CRAP has to STOP! MOST Trinis worship BRAZILIAN football...and THEY have MUCH MUCH more "LOCAL-BASED" talent than WE do.... why then does the MAJORITY of their team play in Europe? You could imagine a Brazilian team comprised MOSTLY if not entirely of Brazilian-based talent??? Give me a break yes!!!! Shabazz Jaguars beat us and 'all ah town" go suddenly say "appoint Jamal...yuh eh see he betta than than geriatric German..." Friday night's defeat is the (hopefully) FINAL nail in the coffin from the fallout with the 2006 squad....we need to get the JW hangers OUT of the TTFF, put the power back in the hands of the clubs, disband the 6 team "Semi-Pro" League maquerading as a fully professinal league and go back to Zonal Conference Football where the BEST teams and Best local players will benefit from community support and then make national teams ...AND GO ABROAD TO clubs in TOP TIER Leagues where they can develop into the next generations of Latas, Yorkes and Shaka's.. add to this relatively young foreign-born talent who are ready and willling to play for T&T (eg Jake Thompson), and we have the makings of a team capable of dominating the Caribbean and challenging in CONCACAF...just my 2 cents.

At the end of the day, the players did not get it done....preparation or no preparation.  Is not like Guyana had more preparation than we.

We simply have NO HEART.  Period.
It sure SOUNDED that way based on the commentary, Guyana just wanted it MORE than us and it all started with the "stone the builder named Anton REJECTED"..Shakes who wasn't good enough to make Cornmeal jr U-20 team years ago poison we tonite... God really doh like ugly!

CONGRATS to the team AND Angus Eve!!! A draw with MEXICO in and of itself is a decent result... to do it IN Mexico, with an under-strength and under-prepared team even MORESO!!! Lets remember that Mexico routinely qualifies for ALL World Cups at EVERY level, and has been WINNING them at youth level lately...I think some people here just like to COMPLAIN and CRITICIZE (which is their democratic right), but lighten up nuh, and let's rally behind this team... as someone mentioned earlier the CORE of this group have already participated in TWO consecuetive World Cups U-17 and U-20 so this is in may ways a "Golden Generation", ESPECIALLY if they can make it THREE in a row and again create history by becoming our FIRST EVER team to qualify for the Olympics!!!

Next up for Keith Look Loy and his team is write the Minister of Sports on the issue, and of course given that the VAST majority of the EFA clubs support fresh elections, they can always vote to take "STRIKE" action, effectively scuttling zonal play... there are also moves afoot to generate support from clubs in other zones, and hope for a "domino effect", a la what is currently taking place in the  US. WITH "Occupy Wallstreet" , which began in NYC and has spread all across the country! Good Luck to them, as this could very well be a local football "TSUNAMI" unlike what was promised in other circles but remains undelivered to date

Football / TODAY's Bermuda match commentary under jeopardy
« on: October 07, 2011, 11:29:53 AM »
I just heard from a reliable source that the I-95.5fm commentary... the ONLY station to attempt to bring the game live to us is now in jeopardy because of a new bachaanal over TV RIGHTS... apparently the BFA do NOT own the TV rights, but a company with ties to a certain individual does. As a result, ALL SPORTS promotions who apparently are feeling slighted at not being able to keep their committment to bring a TELEVISED (delayed) broadcast of the match have written correspondence to I-95.5 tellin them that they do not have the rights to bring live radio commentary.... meanwhile reporters from Trinidad are ALREADY in Bermuda, and another station will be bringing "capsule" reports... the situation will be resolved in the next few hours, and expect the entire incident to be revealed in its entiety on tomorrow (Saturday 8th Oct) I-Sports program...

                         phillip

Telesford     Power   james   Connell

                 Leon

tinto           Birchall    daniel

                                       Peltier
         john

With the above line-up ONLY the enforced changes are made, with the starters from the last game retaining their place:-
Telesford for Wolfe - same kind of  combative/aggressive player
Connell for Carlos - Although Adams is a more natural defender he looked poor vs India
Peltier for Roberts - he MIGHT go with Hector or Molino too, but Peltier has come on as a sub in BOTH games so far, and based on form will probably get the nod
Stern for Jones... nuff said :)

I don't know how people have left Leon off their starting line-ups, he has improved considerably and had a good game vs Barbados... also Pfister is playing to win withOUT conceding, we are playing AWAY from home and Bermuda were not exactly a walk-over when we barely beat them 1-0...

I feel like this is really the worst time for Scottty to retire, Jones Injured and Jorsling coulda barely start a game for his USL team, will be interesting to see what happens next who the coach uses to replace these payers.
He could start by trying ANTHONY WOLFE in his NATURAL position of Striker, if not, Touissant, Juma Clarence and Stern were/are in the squad and Colin Samuel if fit, is another option to recall...all the same GOOD LUCK with your club career Scotland!

didn't see him, but I spoke to him at the North East game. He asked why we played Anthony Wolfe up front. He said " Vulf iz not ze striker he iz ze right back" (well, kinda like that). I didn't want to point out that Wolfe scored around 25 goals for Ma Pau & North East last season.  But then again, playing him at right back would allow room for Stern 7 Drogba up front and move Cruickshank to right midfield which I feel is his best position, so Pfister has a good point!

Actually you SHOULD have pointed out that Wolfe went to the 2006 WC as a striker and a few years ago was the leading goal-scorer in the PFL... in fact if he does NOT know that it makes me wonder just WHAT he WAS told by Anton Corneal et al about these players when he first got here.

Never underestimate the brilliance of a toepee.

But to me a good driven stingers...more deadly. Yuh must make dey teeth click when it connect with them.

Honestly they does chook the newbies and unskillful/unfit men in the back...but in some sweat men like a last position. They like to hold on to ball and beat out the back or play they hitting yuh a searching pass.

Also some big players does like to lead from example...I in d back here...no goal scoring again...dem kinda talks.

But a fake and slap (same foot) I find faster to pull off than the fake and roll.

Another variation of that roll over is a pull-push beat with both feet.

Also its take a lil skill to connect one time with a ball from a cross and net it in the Vee with a man in the goal...especially on yuh weaker foot.

In my small goal Sunday sweat, NOBODY does want to play last... so we come up wid a rotation system... when I in there, men does breaks fuh deyself because they KNOW I comin out hard and fast... even wid the bad knees :o
While I might occasionally get string up, most times I do enough to throw off the attacker in a 1 v 1... I too old now to take bang  ;D Now when striking, I too love the "POWER TOPEE", is blade comin and going from me!

MEDIA STATEMENT BY KEITH LOOK LOY AND OTHER CANDIDATES IN
THE EASTERN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION’S ELECTION OF OFFICERS

On 11 August of this year, after careful consideration, I undertook to offer myself as a candidate for the presidency of the Eastern Football Association.

After I issued a letter in this regard to the member clubs of the EFA, I was approached by several clubs to form a slate of candidates, which was duly proposed by my club, FC Santa Rosa, and seconded by Prisons Sports Club.

On Sunday 28 August 2011, the member clubs of the Eastern Football Association were supposed to elect their new executive committee to manage the Association’s affairs for the period September 2011 to August 2013.

The seventeen clubs assembled for the EFA’s Annual General Meeting were denied the opportunity to do so when Wayne Riley, the returning officer appointed by the TTFF with the consent of the outgoing executive committee but ultra vires, i.e. outside of, the EFA Constitution and without the agreement of the assembled clubs, declared the candidates nominated by FC Santa Rosa and seconded by Prisons Sports Club to have been improperly seconded and, therefore, ineligible to contest the election.

On that basis, Riley went on to declare the slate of candidates comprising the incumbent officers to be unopposed and returned to office for the new two‐year term. The meeting was never shown the letter in
question.

Riley made his unilateral and illegal decision based on the presentation by persons unknown, of a letter from a person claiming to be the secretary of the Prisons Sports Club, who also claimed that the officer who signed on behalf of Prisons Sports Club to second the slate of candidates headed by Keith Look Loy was unauthorized to do so.

Despite the protestation of the affected candidates, the representative of the Prisons Sports Club and other clubs present, Riley declared his decision and left the meeting, which the outgoing EFA president, Lennox Watson, promptly closed and also left.

Thirteen of the seventeen clubs in attendance immediately wrote and signed a letter to the EFA/TTFF demanding the holding of the election on Sunday 4 September 2011. Both organizations have ignored the clubs’ demand.

The president of the Prisons Sports Club, John Rougier, who is also the Commissioner of Prisons, has since written a letter condemning the letter of the purported Club secretary as “null, void, ultra vires and without legal standing”, and reiterating the Club’s support for the candidates it has properly seconded: Keith Look Loy, Roger Griffith, Frank Rodriguez, Anil Maraj and Fallon Thomas.

Meantime, we have made multiple requests for a copy of the letter on which Riley based his decision (29/8/11, 30/8/11, 2/9/11). These requests have been ignored.

We have made multiple requests for a copy of Riley’s report to the TTFF (30/8/11, 2/9/11. This request has been ignored.

It is clear that the EFA and TTFF intend to frustrate those who would challenge their undemocratic handling of this matter by ignoring them, and to have any challenge to the illegitimate reinstallation of the incumbent regime die a natural death.

Indeed, it has been reported to us by various clubs that members of the unconstitutional regime that wishes to
hold on to power have been advising them that the election is a dead issue, that FC Santa Rosa and Prisons Sports Club fraudulently proposed the slate of candidates which I head, and that they are “back in power for another two years”.

We, the candidates of change, intend to resist this travesty, and to keep the struggle for democracy and development in the Eastern Football Association, and the TTFF by extension, alive. We refuse to allow our opponents to trample on the most basic principles of Fair Play, Natural Justice and Democracy.

Given the current impasse, we are proven correct in our decision, once in office, to pursue the introduction of a maximum limit of two consecutive terms in office for executive officers of Regional Associations and the TTFF itself.

More immediately, we have undertaken the following initiatives:

‐ The retention of legal counsel, Mr. Samuel Saunders, Attorney‐at‐Law.
‐ The issuance of a legal letter to the EFA demanding the reconvening of the 2011 AGM
and the holding of the aborted election within seven (7) days, i.e. by 14 September
2011.
‐ Preparation for referral of the matter to a) arbitration, as mandated by the EFA
Constitution, b) to FIFA, if necessary, and finally c) to the civil courts of Trinidad and
Tobago.

The resolution of this matter rests squarely with the TTFF and EFA, and on their willingness to act in accordance with the most basic principles of Democracy. We, the candidates of change, trust that both organizations will do the right thing.

That said, let everyone be absolutely clear. We intend to pursue this matter to the finish, wherever the finish may be. The member clubs of the Eastern Football Association must have their say, their right to democratically elect their executive leadership must be observed.

Keith Look Loy
