Breds, yuh know Yorke en gettin sub.  He doh want no sub for his club team, he will surely be on the field the full 90 as the skipper his country.

Sealy for Stern in de 65th.

I would not say is a weak US squad, because they have proven depth.  However, that back 4 does seem a bit suspect, without Pope, Bocanegra, Heydick ;D and Gibbs.

The key is the 1st 20 minutes of the game, we have to settle down early and play as if we deserve to be on the same field as dem...run at de blastid defense ...trap and screen en go work at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Start Glen / Yorke or Glen / Jones up top!!!!

Oh lawdd!! Ah cyar wait!  Ah only hope mih (American) wife en hide mih ticket!

Warriors:
Assuming Edwards is not fit:

                        Shaka
               Dog              Tallest
Charles                                        Avery
                        Spann
Birchall                                    K Jones
                        Yorke
               Stern           Glenn

*Starting Glenn because I think he needs the experience and I do not think that the US will be preparing for him as a starter.  Play him up top for 45 minutes and bring on Sealy for the 2nd half.  Sealy will not go from (not in the squad) to a starting spot anyway, bring him off the bench.  This idea that Glenn can't start is shit, because all players need to train as if they are all starters, so give him the chance.  We need to run at the US from the start of the game, not in the 2nd half..

*If Whitley is in the squad bring him on for Stern, move Jones up top.

*Let Birchall play his natural position, Spann and Yorke could hold down the middle with their work rate.

* Stern need to get on track ... enough is enough..either shit or get off the pot dred!

Is mas up dey next week..Go WARRIORS!!

Man ah tell yuh, dat day was de worse ... de 'lowlight' was when a ball switch from QRC left to right ...Zebe ches trap and as ah recovering to get in defensive position ...cap!  den he trap, wait fuh mih to settle ... spanna and he heading to goal ...de crowd went ma wit de spanna, becasue after de cap ah rush een .... ah run him down and tear down de man jersey in de box ...penalty ...ah just turn and walk off de field ...I en even see de red card ...ah just keep walkin...

Oh lawwwwwdddddd! ah swear mih career done after dat ..but is all ah we take beat!

Ah know it have saints men on dis forum dat know what ah talking bout but en go confess, dat we get mash up dat day..

Dat is how de game goes though ...everybody has their day..dat day was Euzebe's for sure..

Allyuh men is real tears..

The only thing I say negative about Rocke is dat he wanted to play for Fatima and Mervyn Moore turn him down. For the record Colin Rocke was one of the greatest to ever come our of TT that never get his props. His touch was impeccable and if I rememder he ended up playing in Germany for Wolfsburg. I rate him highly having played with him for a youth team. He was a legend and even Pele was quoted as saying that he was one of the best players technically and skillwise he had seen.

No Fatima player was ever as good as Rocke so fuh dem to refuse him was ridiculous. Moore also refused Sheppy and Cipriani  and Larry Williams who all went on to light up Trinity College.
Rocke use to make  big men look silly when he was 14 years old- a man amongst boys

Having not seen Rocke in donkey years VB and Savannah you may be right about me saying he did not like Fatima. Apologies to anyone if my comments upset them.BTW VB What was the name of the two Indians that played for Saints during that time with Rocke , Roach and another fella?/ Dem men was wicked. Do yuh remember them?

VB ..

I en know if Damien Cooper yuh talking bout as de other Indian (Barry Roach was de other) ...because I en know if Cooper go want men callin him ah indian!!!!!  good player doh one ah CIC better midfielders ..

Football King, when yuh mention dat 5 dat CIC give allyuh, yuh give mih chills because dat make me remember de HAND dat QRC give we (CIC) on QRC grounds...ah believe it was 89 ..

de headline in de express de nex day was "CIC get a HAND" 5-0 ..dat QCR side had Shawn Garcia, Ezebe, Alibey and Jeremy Short (checkey)  ... personally my worst game ever in de blue and white stripes ... ah man enuff to say dat Ezebe mash mih up (all kinda beat) out dey on de left flank ... we en make ah note dat day!!
we get de las laff dat year doh because we was fighting for de las north zone big 7 spot and we beat dem on we grounds 1-0 (Gabre Cummings ...Gally son) net up ...CIC in QRC out ..

memories ... now man jus ole and could only talk in de forum!!!!!!!

I say insult in the sense that, Trinidad was once respected in the region and it saddens me to see where we are today.  Ah luv mih country and ah backing dem all the way.  Let's hope that we going thru what all teams go through.  The powers (and players) that be, need to DEDICATE themselves towards getting us back to that world of respect.

Dred, Beene should post message like that on de blackboard EVERYDAY to help motivate these men!

I know we go be up dey in CT making one setta noise for dem fellas..it will be a real shame for  dem to come out flat flat and just waiting, letting de US dictate de play...

I just HATE de fact that de US in a position now to be over confident and arrogant wit it!!! Dat comes down from dey coach...

"...U.S. coach Bruce Arena has only days to pick a line-up from a now injury-stricken pool. But the lucky break is facing CONCACAF lightweight Trinidad and Tobago at home..."

The Warriors are getting absolutely NO RESPECT.. question is ..should they?

I watch dat game las nite and to me, Chelsea never came out out 3rd gear....in de las 20minutes they look like they could have scored at will.... yes it was a good showing by DC but Chelsea was SCRIMMAGING not PLAYING...

Youth,
Allright now yuh makin real sense by posing dat question..at the end of the men leave school and have bills to pay, mouthes fi feed..SO ...student-athletes should be held to an academic standard..end of story..players should not be used in such an exploitive way...while compromising that players' future after-intercol..

Yes we like we football..but there has to be a limit..maybe mandate the number of 'transfers' according to the list of 'transfer types' that you mentioned ..so if yuh have a big player that is not on his books...encourage tutoring .. doh just encourage de youth on de football field..exactly the reason that Trinidad has so much wasted talent....and struggling to put together a national team of merit..that losing to Antigua and St.Kitts etc..

Nah Jahyouth, cyar say dat "CIC is de king ah dat" at all..I en know for now but back in de mid to late eighties I would say is a max of 5 / 6 players dat Saints pull...remember CIC will always be a academics first school ...even though they will make allowances for men dat contributing to de team .. yuh still have to show yuh could hande yuh biz in de classroom..

As far as de NORTH colleges go..at least when I was playing....QRC was de boss ah dat!!!!!! FI REAL!

Go Saints!

I agree that the region that the US and Mexico is in surely boosts their ranking..if they were in a different region ...different story... but it bunning mih heart to see the US and the Samba in the same league (according to the rankings)...the Samba should never even be in their sights...but ah spade is ah spade ... the US deserves props for their (commitment) to improvement..

SLATES!!!  Wha vibes cuz...we 1 and 1 so far up in Minnesota, bout to go an mash up a team in a lil bit ... quarters tomorrow vs a Costa Rican squad (their goal diff. after 3 games is 24!!!!!!!!!)  blood clawt!!!!

Football / Re: How did Jamaica look versus Mexico
« on: July 14, 2005, 01:32:10 PM »
Reggae,
I agree with you, that game last night 'a game'.  I think JA had the better opportunities to score and had a very good chance at the upset...those fellas played with pride and the Mexicans were physically intimidated....I was impressed with JA's game..they seemed organised and confident..very unfortunate that they gave up that goal ... that was just good football on Mexico's part....

To all these 'so called' football fans that fighting down JA...allyuh is some real backside in truth...good football is good football, call a spade a spade, Jamaica played Mexico for the full 90 and did not back down an INCH!  TT vs.  Mexico, good performance? Sure, call it that from TT, but there was too much respect being paid to the Mexicans....

Men dat fighting down JA showing exactly why there is no harmony in trinidad, much less trinidad football...the (island) purists are supporting TT to reach the WC, regardless of what country dey from, but when is our time to be supportive...we choose to talk a bunch a shit!!!  Yes I will back TT against Jamaica everytime..but game have to recognise game fellas...is real ignorance allyuh men showing dey sah!

« on: July 13, 2005, 12:58:44 PM »
Arima,
I agree with your comment re: Birchall, he is good but not great..he deserves credit for his commitment to date...no doubt about that...but the question is which other Hex team would he start and play a full 90 for???  NONE!

So what that says is that we are clearly the least talented team in the hex.  What we are then left to do is 'manufacture' through Beene instructions, results.  Our style, in fact we have no 'brand' of play, is too deliberate and as a result our players are 'programmed'.  There is no element of deceit which at this level is thoroughly exposed by teams with more class.. what we need is players with talent and an understanding of the game...Beene (or BSC) for that matter cannot be blamed for the teams showing...we can question player selection etc..but is there a 'miracle XI' that would go out there and perform at a level much higher than what has been on display lately??  ... the coaches are working with what they have .... it is bamboozling that we cannot find players with creativity and knowledge of the game in Trinidad....I cyar understand that..

Maybe the lack of national pride, prevents players from wanting to play for Trinidad...national pride is what drove Colombia to victory last nite...no way, anywhere in the world would they, a team that plays Samba and Arg. regularly, would come and lose 3 games in a tournament...those fellas lace up they boots las nite and went to WORK!

I am still FIRMLY ON THE WAGON supporting the warriors! I will be in Hartford fo shizzle!

GO WARRIORS..
