« on: January 14, 2008, 06:17:35 PM »
All ah could say is WOW.

Ah remember reading somewhere that he was recommended by Yorke to replace him up front. It takes class to recognize class eh.

Could you imagine what an in-form Stern John,  Scotland, Kenwyne Jones, Cornell Glenn, supported by the likes of Jemmott, Bleeder, Carlos Edwards and Roberts could do to Concacaf defenders?

I am sure the likes of Latapy, Yorke, and Shaka wille be happy to contribute to the success of the SA 2010 campaign. However the author of this piece has not really indicated in what areas they can help. His comments are too broad and general to me. Also, I always think about the struggles of actually working with the administration--TTFF. It's nice to write a piece like this in the News Media, but too much has to be considered. It almost sound like the names he mentioned are neglecting their responsibility. ???

Football / Re: Carlos Edwards has been SOOOOOOOOO disappointing
« on: December 02, 2007, 05:57:19 PM »
Well said Filoh. Plus Carlos has been playing at peak form since before the World Cup in Germany. We've come to expect that level from him. To me his excellent performance in Germany against TOP players and competition was really the icing on the cake. There is little doubt that he could thrive in the EPL never mind "cut it."

How do we explain Yorke's move away from the striker's position to defensive midfield, when the likes of Andy Cole and Heskey et al still producing at that position?

Is it that they eh reach that age yet?  Not trying to be contentious, was just wondering.

.... after England’s Euro dream died following the humiliating defeat by Croatia.

The Croatian coach told the reporter who was interviewing him that England needs to wake up--we are simply better than them.

England may be blind to their own vulnerabilities

Shaka the consumate gentleman and diplomat. I am convinced he ought to be shortlisted to play a role of advocate wherein he utilizes his diplomacy for interventions in T&T football advancement. Wait! In his capacity as President of FPATT he is functioning in that role. Excellent.

WOW one can only hope and dream :praying:. We who grew up playing ball in T&T know the sheer joy of T&T vibe in the game. 2010 & 2014 has some hope. Of course the bad mind, money hungry, self serving, vampires sucking the blood out of everything good in T&T football is another story all together. :banginghead:

Great news on all four players. Much appreciated. Glad to hear especially about Bleeder as we wern't hearing much about him. We all know his contribution to the national game is in a crucial area of the pitch.

i would also say for him not to do that piece of assness that he did with Southampton by refusing to play.

Dat so called piece a assness KJ do might just turn out to be the best thing he will ever do in his career.

We who live abroad, more so than the local, will probably understand the need to assert one's self or be continually left back.

We could never get enough of Latas. What amazes me about him is his great humility to go along with his enormous skill. No wonder he is soooo well liked.

The person who does a video (like Dwight Yorke Smiles Better) of Latas stands to make a bundle plus please a lot of people.

Does T&T realize that the BIG teams already have 19 and 20 yr olds in their senior squads? We (Fuentes an dem) emphasizing his youth as if its a big deal. We are soooooo behind its not funny. We should be pushing lots of youth players to the professional setup as a normal thing---not as a BIG deal.

Very classy Coops. I must say I enjoy and look forward to reading the board every day.

My short list
Maurice Aliby--a year before me at Barataria Comp.
My younger bredda went to school with two track stars turned football players: Clint Marcel and Angus EVE at Mucurapo Junior Sec.

Can't forget the John-D v Mucurapo classic  Clauzel and White against John-d

Look, is only Trini people quick to minimize a compliment directed to them. We seem only too quick to put it into perspective. If it were the other way around--a criticism, we would have been quick to agree with it. Lord help us.

Latapy, Carlos, Yorke, Kenwyne, Stern, some of the BEST talent to come out of the Caribbean in a loooooooong time perion. Fact. Deal with it.
