Went to the game at NJIT Grounds tonight. The atmosphare was real nice still. A crowd of about 300 showed up. St. Benedics is one of the top High School teams in the US I was told by a Triri Father of a St. Benedics student.
Petrotrin started off with what look like a 3-6-1 formation. In the beginning they showed a lot of energy but it didn't take long for Benedics to figure out T&T. They scored 2 in the first half. The Goalie was the main culprit. All I could say is that its good exposure for the young boys. Tomorrow they play Mexico U17 national team. Well well.
Final score 2-0 St. Benedics

The responses so far, to my mind, are the harsh realities of life. With a Father like you, your son has all the encouragement [and most likely grounding] that he really needs.
However, although the responses are true that he will have to get used to the criticism, the father's request is that we or (I) be more thoughtful in my comments. That, I believe, could lessen the amount of extreme criticism which is so often NOT bassed on fact.
Just my 2 cents.

The question is not can Carlos cut it in the EPL, I think his performance at the World Cup put to rest any doubts. He will be surrounded by better players and he appears to thrive in those situations where the quality is higher. Year Rolls Royce okay, buh I see him as a stalion. He doh geh tired at all boy.

Thanks for the insight. The question was raised in my mind as a result of the constant plea for supporters at the games. I am aware that politics have a part to play in its struggle. Coops brought to light the possibility of the mindset of the contemporary generation (MONEY or else). And then the funding to carry on a d sustain the clubs. Thanks again.

Is there any reason the old teams like Malvern, Maple, Cocorite United ETC are not playing in the Pro League?

When I think of Trinidad and Tobago's football culture, the first thing that comes to mind is flair. Whats honored in a country is promoted there. We glorify the technical ability of individuals to beats man. Therefore, when a small boy envisions himself being a good footballer, he imagines himself beating his opponent with pretty drag, spanner, et al. He will, as a consequence, develop this part of his game moreso than other aspects. Of course, there are other aspects to T&T's football culture such as quick short passes with some tintilating combinition plays.
