Dwight Yorke's mom laid to rest
By Elizabeth Williams (T&T Express)

A tearful Dwight Yorke yesterday attended the funeral service for his mother, Grace Alberta Joseph Yorke, describing her as a fantastic woman.

"She was great, she was truly great. I just want to thank you very much. I am devastated, truly devastated. I truly want to thank you from the rest of my family, for all the love and support all persons gave. She was a fantastic woman," Yorke, a footballer of international fame, said.

The funeral service for Mrs Yorke, who died on October 15 at a private hospital in Trinidad, was held at the Bon Accord SDA Church yesterday.

Yorke was comforted by his sister, Juliet.

Present in the congregation were one of his best friends, national football coach Russell Latapy, THA Chief Secretary Orville London and other THA officials.

London, in bringing words of comfort, called on the family to remember the good times, as Mrs Yorke was a fantastic human being and Tobago had reaped her benefits.

"But I want to suggest that in the midst of that loss and pain, there is a certain degree of pride and comfort that you have been nurtured by a woman of class, calibre," he added.

Pastor Earl Edwards, in delivering the sermon, said death does not have the last say, as the family can live with the hope that they would see their loved one again.

Mrs Yorke was known for her baking skills, humour and pleasant personality.

Pres Forever!!!!!

Cosisn! Jaikes like he finally get it right again. I was wondering if he was trying to turn Pres into a Naps of the late 80's ane early 90's when Naps nickname was "3 points".Glad to see the old school win something..

12
Why de F***, Dennis Lawerence and Trent Noel in this squad?? WHY???????????

TnT is already out, why not use most of the Under 20's for them to get that experience now? Latas is just as dumb as the TTFF!!!

Same crap over and over. TnT WILL never learn. TnT Will never move ahead. We were lucky to be in Germany and we probably never see another WC!

The under 20 team should play the last 2 games. What is the sense calling back those over seas pros, who did poorly in the campaign? Let the young boys gain the exposure from now. It matters not if we get 10. Those boys will learn. But we TnT Football is a REAL jokes yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Real Joke! Dennis Lawerence???? Denzil??

Stwps!!!!

WE WILL NEVER IMPROVE!!!

WE WILL NEVER ADVANCE!!!

Dude take a bweh ...

Aye Nostradumass!!!

The difference between the Soca Warriors and the Reggaeboyz is that we still IN the hex, unlike you who have to engage in these fassy tactics to forget that your team has been C list warm up fodder two years before qualifying done for 2 cycles remaining...

Blasted troll!

:timeout: Wait, you mean you guys racked up all of 500 693 views sand 52 replies on this thread in such a short space of time?

By the way Midknight, I see them guys giving you and Warlord a hard time on Bigsoccer.com. Word is you guys have suddenly gone silent since Saturday.

One fella below say that Jamaicans have inferiority complex. Not sure how to read into that, but in regards to sporting achievements, Jamaica rules the tropics, hands down.

Anyway, like I said, take a page out of the RBZ books ...live up to your "warriors" tag, and go out and battle the Yanks and Mexicans in your remaining games.

Looks like even the media officer gone awol....what happened to the normal training videos?  ::)

Good luck.

Administrators i could never understand how u could let this fool carry "Sr warrior" under his name . Go in the code and sort that out nah .. He is NOT a warrior..

Good post dude some very salient points. Howver the U20's proving they are good enough in their warm up matches at least.. True they qualified with one victory but that was in the final qualifying phase..

Some of what raggafart say is true, but the thing that ah can't stand about him and 2099 is this.
When ever things going good for us they never post anythin. But from the time things get hard for us they show up to rub salt in our wounds . 2099 is just an idiot but raggafart like to pretend that he coming here with caribbean unity at heart. Then he does post one set of double standard shit to put T&T down. I feel deep down inside his f-uped head he really wish he was ah Trini.
Then by your assessment it proves I'm not a hypocrite. You just don't like what I say simply because it is not in accordance with "your truth".

Tough luck. And it gets worse;

Honduras 13 points. USA 13 points. Mexico 12 points. Costa Rica 12 points.
USA will not risk a 4th place playoff spot against the 5th place CONMEBOL team. So it is already known that they won't take a "schoolboy" team to T&T like they did in the semi-final. Need I say what the result will be this evening after 90 minutes except that Trinis will take out their anger at those who told them the truth from the beginning of the HEX.

That's right. I did. My assessment was made from the WCQ second round against Grenada and the Digicel Cup.

and you sir , mr jamacia 2099 , get a grip .. You just being plaing annoying with your thinly veiled crticism of all things trinidadian. Trinis, even if this man right , doh give him a hearing , it have enough TRINI forumites here to show we we failings.. Trinis let us fight like brother and sister but when the neighbour show up (jamaica 2099) , let us stand together.
jamacia2099 i likeyour name cos 2099 is when jamaica will be part of a HEX again.

23
i agree with RF.Mentally weak as a nation

Trinidadians are not mentally weak. There are other reason why the crowd will be smaller today , Jack raise the price. When Barca started the 2008 season the Nou camp was half empty .. Does this mean that those supporters are all waggonists? No .. They were angry and upset and chose to stay away.
I disagree with all you forumite who continually call supporters "waggonists" etc. Maybe they arent dieharders who will go no matter what , but they do support the team. The lack of support has more to do with frustration with the way the team is playing and maturanan etc. After we lost to Costa Rica and Mexico the stadium was still "full-ish". But the team's early promise didnt improve. Bottom line no one is going to continually throw away money on a poor product .
Except a die-harder.

Football / Re: How come nobody does want we for warm up games
« on: August 21, 2009, 08:24:05 AM »
AJW does want TOO big of a match fee from dem BIG teams when we play them

The problem with T&T football is that there is not much real fan support, hence no real atmosphere at friendly games. When was the last time you saw a 25K crowd for a friendly game in POS? For intance, if Ja were to play T&T tomorrow in the Hasely Crawford stadium, would you even get a 5000 people showing up? Such a game in Jamaica is looking at a minimum 20K crowd, and if propely marketed, with top players involved would definately sell out the national stadium. That could easily pay each team US$100K. When Jamaica played Costa Rica in a friendly game recently on simoes return to coach us, there was 28,000 people in the stadium. Costa Rica would preffer that sort of atmosphere over playing infront of 500 people in Marabella.

Yuh well right meh boy! this generation of TNT ppl doh have no love for football @ all! i remember when intercol used tuh pack the stadium wid ppl, but now it look like all the yutes want tuh do is drink rum, run down woman and kill one another.

when i was ah yute, the savannah used to be full year round, now when i visit trinidad, if yuh see 50 ppl in the savannah yuh see plenty.

Lord have mercy .. I sweat around the savannah on a Tuesday and Thursday up till last year , and the savannah was FULL , with plenty small sweat alll over the place.. Dont know where you get your info from , just cool , maybe you went on a friday evening....
If you call that full then so be it, from what i saw it had one and two small sweat going on here and there, and yes i was there quite recent and yes it looked scanty to me , and no it wasn't ah friday, and no it wasn't raining either, it just didn't look full, and campared to how it used to be, it looked tired.

it also looked like there are no leagues in the savannah anymore, just pick up games. i don't know how old you are makie, and i'm certainly not trying to pull rank, but if you're younger than 35, then you certainly has never seen ah packed savannah except during carnival or independence.

aight boss , respect.. :beermug:

Watch meh Trinis have so much excuses it not funny.

"The sun to hot to wear black."

Just say alyuh want to go the game to say that alyuh was there nah, bout it will hurt the players morale. We cyah play more shit that we already did. Sing and clapping and jumping can't make ah man recieve ah ball if he doh have the technique.

Jack will always win because we have weak minds coupled with waggonistic ideal. All of us are waggonnist cause we serve our needs. It doesn't matter if you going games since you in the womb, right is ight and wrong is wrong.

Man Up.

Give this dude a cold beer..  :beermug:
