Ok, I think that this is going to far. I just want to know what the latest is with DB. Last I heard he was doing well, and now he his injured again. Well, at least what are the details of his inury time? Is it season ending? Or is it something that will still give him a chance to compete this year?

I must admit that I am a DB fan, but for some reason I cant write him off any time soon. If any other athlete  was to go through what he has, I would have wrote them off after the 4th season.

Call me stupid, but as I ont think we heard the last of Mr DB.

EVERY year is the same shit will darrel brown and Triniman..every year dey say we hating on him..every year the same few on here saying Ato hating on him..right now Darrel brown struggling to run 10.20 seconds but yet we must treat him like some superstar hoping he runs a 9.99 tommorow like if he is the same fella from 5 years ago..until he proves me wrong I will continue to say he is not the same athlete from 2003....injuries has help derailed his career..its sad but it is true ..his career is heading towards the end and a few of allyuh need to just face the facts

Right now RT running 10.20s and we still backing him. So if DB runs 10.20 this year i dont see why we cant continue to support him. Maybe not treat him likea superstar but lets not knock him and say he is a write off.

I think what most of us want is for DB to have one injury free season. Regardless if he runs 10.20 or under 10. Just one injury free season we looking for.

Yeah I agree with both posts. But as I said the reality is that this you is coming off injuries and running world class times. That is in indicator that he's still got something, so lets not write him off as yet. And I know that he will still be around for the next 4 years at least, regardless. All the best for DB! Prove these haters wrong!

For the past 5 years he has been coming of injuries and still running under 10.10 each time. Come on. You really think that we should give up on DB after that? If MVP give up then I am pretty sure somewhere else is available for him.

I guarantee if any of those world class runners were to have as much injuries and adversity, they would not be coming back and running within the 10.0 range. Many of them would have packed it in after the first 3 seasons with injuries.

Last I heard he was in good shape just regaining form. If any one else has heard otherwise please post.

Trust me, all it takes is one injury free season for DB and he will be back!

This article is about two years old. And i think it was already posted here.

Last I heard, he was in good shape regaining his form. I am pretty sure we will see him in some meets this year. All the best for 2010.

I am glad that TNT is getting a game with Chile. But overall, the game comes at a invaluable time.

Invaluable actually means very valuable.  English is not a very consistent language.

Right now it is all about the qualified teams, we just have to be glad we get someting at all.
32 teams in the WC and only 1 of them want to play us.

Thanks for pointing that out for me. Yeah English is screwed up, cause the "in" can also mean not as well.

But from that perspective of being lucky to get soemthing, i guess it is valuable. But the problem is that tnt does not get any good matches when they can really use it. Look at JA. Despite all the financial problems with JFF, i find that they still get lots of good matches and exposure. But "serious" teams will rather play JA before TNT.

I am glad that TNT is getting a game with Chile. But overall, the game comes at a invaluable time. This game would have been better for TNT if it was played as a preparation for a World cup Qualifier, instead of always playing teams like Grenada, Guyana or St Kitts. These teams might give a good game but they do not prepare TNT for big opposition. Imagine if TNT can get opposition like this regularly, sure they might lose but other teams will probably want to play.

If the b team lose badly, it will give the "serious" teams more reason not to play TNT and/or to only play them when they a whipping boy.

How come she get all fouls and come second? Does not make any sense to me. But good showing though.

Yeah I find it strange that MB and DB havent showed up for the year as yet! Maybe just training. Last I heard, DB was in good shape and regaining form well.

Lets hope that when we do see MB and DB it was worth the wait.

All the best for 2010 T&T athletes!

His 4x400 split was something else too. I will even throw him in the 400 to see what he can do. Jehue vs Kirani could be a possible battle in the future.

Last, I got to big up under 17 yute  on the 4x400. Especially, the anchor. I love his attitude. His comments he made to the commentator was real. With that kind of attitude, we will definitely challenge JA. Big up!

What did he say? and Deeks our female medalist hurdler was Josanne Lucas. I see what you are syaing about what the Bahamas is doing though. We need to find a way too.

If memory serves me correct, the conversation went something like

commentator-  "were you concerned that your team was going to give it away during the race?"

T&T anchor- Nah, I wasnt worried at all. I know my men. We werent worried about Jamaica or Bahamas.

Might not be word for word. But the message is the same.

T and T catching Jamaica soon. Now we have resources we need to focus money on this our best performing sport by far!

i like yuh optimism if that what it is but we catching them is highly unlikely.

overall great performace though...what is amazing is Bahamas, small population but always producing results.

T&T has definitely improved. The gold medals have increased and the overall medal tally which is superb. But before we can challenge JA we need to win at least 22-28 gold and 50-56 medals in Carifta. Then we can say we are equal. Do I think TT could overthrow JA? Hell ya. If not then why these youth even running.

I know some of us aint gonna like this. I dont either, but Bahamas can easily take our spot. They might be weak in everything else, but for a small nation they are a threat to TT.

I don't think there is any achievement that could take place in track and field that would result it in getting more respect than football and cricket.  Reaching the world cup and losing every game will always be considered as more successful than athletes winning medals at the Olympics and World Championships.  Just look at how much people who post on the T&F Forum and when they post versus the football forum.  We not even playing a game but that forum is always busy.  That is just the way things are so Ato don't study it and don't expect much.  Over the past few years I have seen some talented guys choose track over football so good things are happening, slowly but surely.

Even if you clean up like Jamaica in the last 2 Global Champs?

Nah man, success like that changes things. King Football in Jamaica has been dethroned!

True. But that will be hard to do in T&T. Dont forget we only have half of the population really supporting T&F .

This kid is well above his class. I know I go hear noise with dis one, but I think he should run the 400 and maybe push for the 200. Maybe being optimistic, but I think he can do it.
Or maybe a few 600's or 800's every now and then?  Will that help his strength and endurance?

Yeah I guess. I know the 400mh requires some real strength.

Because they are racist. Plain and simple

The athlete to watch in 2010 is Jehue Gordon, who will likely break the world junior record and factor in the world rankings - no one noticed he world ranked in his event at 17 - something no athlete I can recall has ever done, certainly not a TRINI.

Your right with this on A.B. Gordon is the one to watch for 2010. I am sure this young man could even run a good 400m as well.

I am racking my brains to see if there might be anyone else, but I think the two B's top the list. Just still praying that Brown could fulfill his maximum potential.

P.S. Happy belated birthday Ato. :beermug:

If an award was to be given to the World Junior Male Athlete of the decade it is no doubt that Brown and Bolts will be in the top five or perhaps even the top three. I cant think of any one else that can contend for that title.

Does anyone have any other contenders?

Football / Re: Concacaf Format for 2014 WCQ.
« on: December 06, 2009, 05:48:16 PM »
From the way I heard fifa president talk I know changes coming up soon ,but trinidad have a better chance with the CURRENT format . If its 8 TEAMS WE KNOW THE USA,MEXICO,HONDURAS,COSTA RICA ARE THE TOP SEEDED TEAMS  WHILE UNCAF CHAMPIONS PANAMA ARE GOOD TO MENTION . WHERE DOES THE 8 OR 10 TEAM GROUP LEAVES CFU TEAMS LIKE TRINIDAD&TOBAGO ,JAMAICA,HAITI,CUBA AND OTHERS IF THEY IMPLEMENT A 8 OR 10 TEAM GROUP ITS GOING TO BE HARDER FOR SMALLER CARIBBEAN TEAMS AND TNT IS IN THE MIX .

Thats why the Caribbean need their own spot. Plain and simple!

Caribbean should get their own spot or .5 just like Oceania.

2877
The real question is this:

Can a South American or European team win the World Cup in Africa?

Stats show that Europe has only won the cup when it is in Europe. World cup has been held in 4 continents, Africa the 5th. South America has won it the other times. Africa will be on that list and expect an African team to become the first for Africa.

My ranking for Africa in regards to going the furthest in the cup is this:

Ghana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, South Africa and Algeria.

2878
Hard luck for Bahrain. Big up New Zealand for saving we record. :beermug:

Football / Re: I am hearing 40 teams in the next World Cup ?
« on: October 28, 2009, 08:53:25 PM »
40 hmm. I agree it will mash up the world cup. 36 is reasonable but not 40. The reality is that the caribbean need they own spot. The Caribbean should get a full spot or at least a half just like Oceania. I would like to see that or maybe the 36 teams. But definitely not 40. You will have all kind of sh1t side making that world cup.
