gawd on pitch ??

Even though, I support T&Tto the fullest.....JA taking this series for sure. I think T&T best result will be a tie at home and 1-0 loss at the Office. JA is capable of scoring at least 2 against us.

Looks like meh yardie bredrens go be rubbing meh face in it.

dais your support to the " fullest" ???

What about Track & Field / Re: Guess who's "back"?
« on: August 04, 2010, 03:29:14 PM »
Easy for me - I just shift my Dwain Chambers feelings over to him. Now that Chambers has stopped being the victim and has come clean, everyone has accepted him back.

Yeah, that is true. People has accepted him back and he did not have to go on Oprah to cry...lol. :rotfl: Maybe he went on the UKs version of Oprah.

Listen guys, JA will give we a run run run. You see this is the difference, JA playing big games and regardless if they playing games for free .....they playing. Teams to pay money to play T&T.....steups. THe truth is that  teams are more interested in playing JA than T&T because of they are Jamaica. I telling yuh, the amount of good friendlies we play will help determine T&Ts qualification for 2014.

JA's downfall will be their financial woes.... While T&T will be the friendlies against the Grenadas, Antiguas, Dominicas, Tobago X1, Under 23, Over 40, Soca princesses, my sunday side, etc......At least get some matches with Venezuela and maybe some of the African teams. I pretty sure the Africans will love to give their Caribbean brothers a sweat.

So far it is fair to say our game with JA is the biggest game of the year. And they are the only real opposition we have for this year.

I hope we pull off a win at home. Cause I pretty sure JA will give us at least 2 goals at the Office.

Interesting article here triggered by our recent success of most medals ever at CAC......http://www.trinidadexpress.com/commentaries/99738809.html

Interesting read. But...I hate to rain on the parade, Cuba did not participate at these games. Sure the success should not be overlooked, but Cuba's presence might have prooved otherwise for T&T and JA (I heard JA got record haul as well).

Overall, they lived up to and exceeded expectation. Good performance!

Looks like the 100 is a race for 4th 5th and 6th. Then again AP chokes when he faces guys better than him. Even though he is one of my favs, I think he getting 4th or 5th. UB winning and TG should take 2nd.

Come on MB and KB, pull off a surprise for we.

T&T better get the gold medal for the mens 4x100. The biggest threat (which shouldn't be a threat) is Jamaica. Jamaica is running their B or even C team and it looks as if the T&T A team is there. There are about 7 JA sprinters that have are currenlty faster than the sprinters on this JA relay team.

A silver would not be acceptable.

Boy!!!!! beggars can't be choosers!!!

I am pretty sure they dont want less than a gold.

I telling allyuh.... France challenging for we relay medal!

Nice to see Mark Lewis Francis back in the mix again. He is UK version of DB. Talk about injuries and obstacles hes had to overcome. I remember his right achilles went in 2008 and it look like that was it. Then his left went in 2009. They thought that was surley it for him. Even though 10.18 is not really a threatning anything. Its good to see him still running.

« on: July 22, 2010, 08:05:12 PM »
so who is betting against Jehue breaking the World Junior record ?

I think we will see something special! He has the best chance of breaking the world junior record. Someone  posted that Lee was going to go sub 10 hence breaking Darrels 10.09 and 10.01. But out of all the world juniors participating in their event, Jehue has the best chance. Don't think Kirani is going to go sub 44, and I dont think Jody Williams is going to break Allyson Felix's 22.18. She will probably do it in the coming years though.

I heard that Lee was disqualified in the 200m. Would have love to see him and Kirani battle that out.

Look out for Selvon in the 200. She has a strong chance of getting a medal.
It was i who had expected lee to break brown's 10.01 but he didnt but won, Jodie i think she will run 22.2 hopefully break Felix's mark. Lee got disqualified from the 200m but saying him and Kirani would have been a great battle is wrong buz Kirani isnt in the 200m. Kai Selvon i hope she medals in the 200m, second behind Jodie of course.... :-D

I thought Kirani would have gone for the 200 as well. And I knew Lee would not break Darrels 10.09 much less his 10.01. Selvon can medal, she has to fight 3 top contenders. Also, Morain got a PB this evening. I think he has a very good chance to medal as well. Both him and Selvon can pull off a surprise.

Well our athletes performed commendably which is a plus.

Jamaican athletes must however be highly congratulated for their performances, what a day - Blake (19.78), Gonzales (44.40), Chambers (44.5*), Spencer (defeating Lashinda Demus)

I know. Jamaica is performing excellent. Jam definitely deserves an "A " for this seasons performance. And Blake.... Dont be surprised if there are four Jamaicans in the 100m final for next year World Champs. Based on what I haveseen so far for, I dont think "ANY" Trini making that final. Except for Burns, cause he does always find a way in. lol

Glad to see Quow improved. But he has "alot" of work to do if he wants to make that final next year, hence medal.

What I could tell you though, is that KAB will make that final. She is improving gradually. And I think this year she will solidify herself as being a consistent 11.0s and sub 11 runner. I think she will run under 10.90 before the end of the season.

Ummm, she already did. She has the world leading time of 10.84s this year

Sorry I meant she will run under 10.90 again, before the season is over.

Dexter is running the 200m as well and I see a medal for him. He is ahead of Skeene.

Chad Wright will do better in the shot than the discuss. Smikle could medal too.

Jam. M mile relay strikes me as too weak for a medal.

I will update with more later if necessary. Overall your picks seem very reasonable, even if a bit optimistic.

BTW, women run 100mH. LoL

Interesting Carib preview here:

Yeah my mistake. I did not realize till after I posted.

Ok I will replace JAM with USA. USA should challenge for the silver or gold with T&T. Maybe  4th or 5th for JAM.

Too bad Michelle is not available. The womens 100 would have been more of a cracker!

What about Track & Field / World Junior Championship Predictions
« on: July 19, 2010, 05:04:46 PM »
Here are my predictions . I do not know much about the Juniors outside of the Caribbean. Fill in if you can.

Men
100m Dexter Lee JA (G) Vicaut FR (S)
200m Kirani James GRN (G), Shota Iizuka JAP (S), Odane Skeen JAM or Charles Simon USA (B)
400m Kirani James (G)
800m ?
110mh ?
400mh Jehue Gordon (G)
4x100 Trinidad or Jamaica (G), Germany or USA (B)
4x400 Trinidad (G), Jamaica (S), Germany (B)

Discuss Quincy Wilson TRI/Chad Wright JA (bronze)

Women
100m USA (G)
200m Allison Peter UVI (B)
400m?
800m
110mh?
400mh?
4x100 USA (G), Germany (S), Jamaica or UK (B)
4x400 Jamaica (G), Trinidad (S) Bahamas (B)

My predictions might seem a little "hopeful". And if it is put up your own predictions before you bash mine. But If my predictions are acurate then T&T will finish with a record 5 medals. All of these predictions are within T&Ts reach.

What about Track & Field / Re: 2010 Results
« on: July 19, 2010, 03:59:40 PM »
Let's have some more vision than that.

Jehue Gordon in 2 years plus a more mature, more seasoned Quow plus our new crop including Sorrillo can mean a finals berth in London in the 4x400 (first time since 1992) - and the 4x100, well, I wouldn't worry about arguably the world's most consistent 4x100m team since 2001, which has gotten stronger with the emergence of Bledman and Sorrillo, and of course the wild card of a healthy Brown.

Come on man.

When "Gawd on de pitch" saying..."Oh Gawd, there goes our silver"....allyuh ent realize the man talking to himself. No stress   ;)

Lol. I was not referring to myself as "Gawd or God" Conquering.

I admit that after seeing the results of MB and AA race, I thought that was it for the relay. Maybe I am comparing T&T with JA too much (something that I think Trini is notorious for). JA is performing spectacularly in all running events. And T&Ts performance this year has been below par......  with of course some exceptions.

Thanks AB for putting things into perspective for me. I will defnitely take back my last statement. But i can tell you all this, T&T track has "alot" of hard work to do for the next 2 years.

On another note, the juniors are prepared to have their best ever world junior championship. I think there are three #1 rankings for T&T (mens 400mh, 4x100 & 4x400) and two for JA (mens 100 and womens 4x400). If Michelle was healthy then we would be ensured a medal.

T&T should finish with about 3-5 medals in the wjc.

bad day for Trinbago sprinting

Overall, the season has not been the best for T&T sprinting (with the exception of KAB and KB). Based on what I have seen this year, T&T track deserves nothing more than a C. That does not include juniors.

We won bronze in the 800m by Nero and in the men 4x4. This is a good meet for our athletes. Especially with the US participating. There was also 3 4th places. Good go and good luck in the future.

Overall very poor performance. Bahamas kicked our ass on the medal table.

yuh record stick..nearly all "white" countries "colonize" black countries.

I know. It seems like this thing called the "world cup" makes the colonizer look like good guys. Hopefully a different story in 2014.
