DB did not even leave the blocks when he was disqualified. He just twitched and probably moved his foot. Regardless it was a disqualification. However, you could see that he really wants to get his moment and the false start is partly due to his lack of participation in circuits this year. I still think that he is hungry to prove himself and his lack of racing in major circuits contrbitued to his disqualification.

Nightmare you might have took my comment out of context. I never said that disqualification is a sign of hunger. I said that the disqualification is a sign of his hunger.

I still not counting out meh boy!

Yeah, grabbing locks in a game is very very dangerous. It is similar to grabbing the helmet of a player in an American football game. Grabbing lock should be an instant red card.

We at least know where MB and RT stand in regards to Berlin. Still dont know where DB stands. Tomorrow will give us an idea of where he is.

Oh yeah, as I said if TnT runs sub 38 they will get silver. Expect some surprises though.

To get the silver TnT will have to run sub 38 for sure. The yanks can get pretty close to that.

Well. I still believe a trini will be in the semi and in the final. Call it bias or having alot of faith. Your right AB. These last couple of races is giving us an idea of who will be where.

By the way is the team named for Berlin? Jamaica is sending 30 or so athletes, Canada is sending 30, UK is sending about 60. I figure TNT is sending anywhere between 16-20. Can anyone confirm?

Very poor performance in Mens 100m for T&T. Those times would hardly make the semi much less the final in Berlin. Hate to say this but, a medal in the 4X100 is beginning to look a little distant. I hope I am proved wrong. I think that JL could pull off a medal. She is now a serious contender for a bronze or maybe even a silver. Could definitely see her in the top 4.

No Trinis in the semi? Not even one. Ok I will meet you halfway and say two in the semi. Still a toss up between the three. Also do you know who is confirmed for the 100m? I heard that iaaf was not pleased with the false start in Port of Spain.

Does anyone know which other Jamaicans will be in the 100m, other than Bolt and Powell. I figure that Blake is questionable. Also, how much competitors are allowed from one country per event? I heard it was three, but will four Jamaicans be in the 100m men because of having the olympic and world leading champion?

So is silver medal at world championships. And all time world junior champion. Not much difference between the two.

To make that semi anything under 10.10 will do it. I think we will see 3 Trinis in the semi-final. Just remember nothing is certain in 100m. I do think that a major contender will not be in the finals for whatever reason, just like last year in China (Gay).

I hear yuh. DB should have gone under 10.2. I wouldnt count him out based on that 10.6 time though. His performance in Port of Spain tell us he is capable of going under 10.0 this year. Will he make the final? We will know in a month. Will he make semi final? I dont doubt it.

Nice observation A.B. BUt I think that Brown was really really taking it easy. First race since surgery 10.04, second race 10.61. He is really trying to save himself for the worlds.

Hopefully he lines up against some serious competition before the Worlds. One or two good races should give him an idea of what to expect in Berlin.

Seems like Brown only stayed in 4th gear for this one. He only put in enough to win the race. No real competiton thats why times were slow. Glad to see him running. Big up!

I agree. Very unfair. Panama with 2 spots, Guatemala with 2. I thought that the spotswould be determined based on level and quality of football in concacaf nations.

What about Track & Field / Re: Gay is hurt
« on: July 22, 2009, 02:17:24 PM »
Uh no cuz he actually had 9.7s and 19.5 before he got hurt

ato come on brown was ahead of him as a junior .... had brown been fit ohhhhh he would been our bolt version ;D but any way the real die hard fans like me flash  and aviator etc know that brown  has underachieved in his pro career due to injuries .....

well i guess Thompson can get the bronze now then aye .... if he fixes his race

Brown also underacheived in his pro career because winning became more difficult than when he was a junior.

Brown has only underacheived due to his injuries. Sure winning became a bit more competitive as he got older. But It was injuries that really disrupted his career. I Believe we still have alot to see from Brown. Just remember He ran his first race this year since his surgery, and his time was 10.05. Seeing Brown in that race tells me that, if he remains fit, he has a   better chance of making the final. Personally I think he is probably the mentally toughest sprinter in TNT.

On another note...Word is that the IAAF was not too pleased with the false start at TNT championships. Does anyone know anything about this? and how does this affect 100m qualification for Berlin?

I agree. I think that RT, MB, DB or any other sprinter will have to get under 9.95 to make the final. However, I feel that there will be a big upset and an unexpected surprise during the Worlds. Iould possibly come in the mens 100m final. You heard it here first, photo finish for the 2nd and 3rd place.

And Ato yuh right, we shouldnt sleep on Tyson Gay.

I still have faith in DB. Here is my final for 100m Berlin:

Bolt
Powell
Blake
Bailey
Gay
Frater/Thompson
Rogers/Burns
Brown

What is the status with DB? I thought he will be in the Rome meet for tommorrow. Anyone know if he is running 100m for Berlin? or is he only doing relay? Based on his last race, which was his first of the year, he looks the best out of all of them.

Despite beating DB at NAAA, MB and RT last races have not been the best. These two should be dipping under 10 regularly.

Football / Re: Reggaeboyz book double Dates with Bafana Bafana
« on: July 08, 2009, 04:46:21 PM »
Its true. Jamaica always gets good matches to play. While Trini only settling for St Kitts or Grenada. Every time I hear Trini is supposed to play a big team, the game usually gets cancelled. i.e Chile 2009. Big teams will probably be willing to play Jam instead of Trini. It has nothing to do with getting an easy victory over Jam.
If you look compare Jamaica's opponents for the year with Trinidad's, It is clear that the Reggae Boyz get far more quality matches than Soca Warriors.

Despite the accomplishments of Soca Warriors and the several players playing high level football, Trini football still dont get the attention it deserves.
