What alyuh think about the left back? Andre Raymond? I didn't see him during the group stage. Good addition I think

@Cowen I don't know if he is. But I do know that Smith is a talented goal keeper. I'm surprised that he hasn't been scouted to play outside of TT.

3 - 0 is unacceptable. But it's not 6. Plus 70mins playing with 10 men without a goal for the US, is a step in the right direction. The red card got us 3 goals. 1-0 or a draw would have been about right without the red card.

By the way, US don't look that powerful without Pulisic. They not that mighty anymore.

Let's pray that we get Costa Rica. I watched their game with Panama. They took 3 while playing at home. I think we can beat them in the US if we get them in the playoffs. Our guys look way more stronger than them.

In all fairness, something Eve doing is working to a certain degree. His style is unorthodox. I don't agree with it. But we played with less men and got 3. It could have been worse.

Copa 2024 is being held where? You think the organizers would take the chance of the US missing out on Copa in their own backyard?

The first yellow on Powder, was not a yellow. Second was a yellow for sure.

I think we might get Costa Rica in the playoff. If Jamaica wins, we might get Canada.

Daniel Phillips is getting good playing time in Scotland.

Having our full complement of players has always been the norm. 2006 Germany, no Andrew's or Spann. . 2015 Gold cup same thing. . We always missing key players. While other teams always had a full complement when they needed it.

Thomo, apparently a law in TT is preventing this from happening. Suriname had a similar law that prevented the Dutch born Surinamese from getting citizenship/passport. The law was changed in 2020 or 2021. Since then Suriname has been featuring a predominantly Dutch born team.

Eve has mentioned this issue before. I don't know about much about the law. However, it has to do with initiating the process to get the citizenship. For TT a parent must initiate it, and they have to provide proof that they are a citizen, and the player is their child. For other countries, the player can initiate it as long as they can prove 1 parent is already a citizen.

Now when it comes to getting citizenship through a grandparent, it's even trickier. I heard that the parent would have to get their citizenship first, then initiate the citizenship process to get their child a passport.

I believe the issue is something like what I mentioned, if anyone can correct me, please do so. I only know pieces of the issue.

Noah Powder should have played. He can play wide on defense or offense. Eve should've considered that.

We're missing about 6 key players. Most of the other got their A squad players. We can't afford to go into the qualifiers without Garciax2, Phillips, Fortunex2, and possibly Bateau.

We need a quality CB that can also play wide. David is a good player, but he got stretched a lot.

Curacao was deadly on the wings. Thus is where we missed the pace of Shannon Gomez.

Anyone feel that Reon Moore was going to score when he came on? That man hungry. He really wanted a goal.

Yes Cocorite

Telfer, Powder, Moore, Smith goalie, Jones -redeemed himself, all had good games.

About 7 other quality players missing. Eve might be on to something.

The best game out of all the other games in League A.

James is a special player.

Good win.

A step backwards for Auvray. He is very talented. You mean no USL or a division 3 or 4 team in France at least?

Haiti is so unpredictable. That's where they are deadly. The scorer of their 2 goals is a real talent.
They look deadly on the counter too.

Jamaica can turn up the pressure from 2 to 10 in no time. When they make that decision to press, it's trouble. They're also good at holding the ball.

Jamaica 0 - 2 Haiti

Only 15mins in the first. Shocked. I thought Jamaica would have walked over Haiti.

Good competitive game Frico. ES 20 shots = 2 goals. TT 4 shots = 3 goals. Set pieces costed us 2 goals.

Overall, I am impressed by the two wins. I believe this is the hardest game to qualify for the next stage. Next up is Guatemala at home. Then Curacao on the road. Considering that Curacao does not have any points, and qualification to the next round is slim, I don't think their Dutch boys will be showing up for their final game against us. Watch and see.

You're right Trini. I just think it better than where he's at now.

Interesting thing I was reading about the USL to MLS  transition for players. Apparently the chances of going to the MLS from the USL, is less than 8%. Once you get in the USL , you either stay or sink down further.

I forgot about Moore. He's another talent that should be playing abroad. I hope he can find something in the USL or Canadian Premier League.

@Peong . Good analysis.

Daniel Phillips is a hard worker. I would have loved to seen him up against the Reggae brits.

Telfer should be playing in the MLS. He's willing to take chances and dribble the ball at the right time.

Auvray is crafty. I wish he can grow about 3 to 4 inches. Despite his size, he's fearless against players bigger than him.

James is another player I think should be in USL at least. I hope he get to go overseas. Good attack minded player. Also I seen him come back and defend.

@ Frico. Yes I was one of the guys on here that downplayed Eve. I still don't agree with some of his tactics. But it worked for this game. The majority of Curacao's starters all play top flight in Europe. The quality was well on display. However, Curacao can't play scrappy Caribbean football. St Kitts brought the same type of game to Curacao and knocked them out of the Gold cup qualifiers.

Curacao played the better game up until the 60th minute. After that, we started to grow in the game. This ultimately tipped the scale in our favor.

Whatever happened to Khaleem Hyland? At 34 years of age, I don't think he is done.

Next game is El Salvador. I say we go big, strong and speedy for that game. That's how Jamaica gets the results over them Central Americans.

I thought we were in for at least 3. Good scrappy game. We missing some key guys. But good result. Curacao is probably the toughest test.

Eve's post match comments after 3-0 loss at home:

" We were outplayed by Curacao. They call their foreign born players for this match. 85% of them playing top flight football in Europe. While our guys are playing in the USL and Pro league. We are at an disadvantage because of the laws around getting a TT passport. ."

Eve has the potential. BUT he will be better suited working as an assistant AFTER he gets mentorship. THEN he might be ready to coach a small Island team and slowly move towards coaching the national team.

On the other hand, to be fair to Eve, can it be that we  don't produce quality players anymore?

Eve is trying his best. But his lack of experience coaching outside of Trinidad and Tobago is why he can't transform a poor performing team into a mediocre team.

I feel we go take licks tonight. It feels like the day of the USA game. I hope I'm wrong. Best luck team

Hadad is the new DJW.

There's about 6 key fellas missing, which will prove costly.

The National Championships were held on Saturday and Sunday. I could be wrong, but it looks like NO athlete achieved the World Championships Standard.  The final nail. This is fricken sad.

We can't go into them games without proper organization in the back. I watch Guatemala fight Jamaica to the end. I really believe that it is the inexperience of Eve that has our defense looking like paper tigers.

Hart will be back. The TTFA is working out the stuff to bring him back. Don't be surprised if is both Hart and Latapy working together.

Got it. But would the work around be - the parent(s) getting their passport first, then the player. I heard something like this.
