First game of the season against Standard Liege and wat a brilliant first half by hyland summed up by his goal in the 34th minute, first of many this season i hope. Brilliant passing and off the ball runs. 1-0 Zulte at half time  ;D

I doubt he will be goin anywhere. Wigan has 3 senior strikers, Boselli, Rodallega and Scotty. He'll come good this season once the service is ok. He played well the entire last season thats why martinez kept playing him

This move will only put more money in Zulte's pocket, thats all, more time on your contract, the more money the transfer fee.

Sometime this year Hyland should have his EURO passport.
actually i think is at the end of this season he will be eligible. He's hasnt been there for three years yet.

Heerenveen or NAC Breda would be good starter clubs for him. Good luck  to him
why yuh think these clubs would benefit him ?
Because they give young players a chance, they sign unknowns but they perform well. Especially Heerenveen, they have a good set up. He'll get games at any of these teams. Michael Bradley turned into a good player at Heerenveen and look at him now. Ronnie Stam is not exactly a world beater but was a good young player at NAC Breda moved to Twente in 2008 and finished second in the league with them 2008-2009 and won the league 2009-2010, in line for his first Holland cap next month and just signed for wigan today for 3million pounds plus add-ons. Miralem Sulemanji was brilliant for Heerenveen and then moved to Ajax couple seasons ago

If KJ stays fit for te entire season i think he's good for 10-15 goals. They have a lot more creativity this time around and the service will be there for him, providing he stays at sunderland. He qualifies as a home-grown player so something might happen before the window closes. I would still like to see him at chelsea but thats unlikely to happen. As for Heskey, Bruce will not be so stupid to bring in Heskey as 'competition' for KJ but he has to look out for Fraizer Campbell cuz he's deadly when he's on his game. Saw the game on Setanta and KJ looked very impressive against Hull at centre back, switch to right back a times  ::)

Andre doesnt play for santos anymore. He's with Dynamo Kiev in the Ukraine, moved for 6 million pound despite his 40million pound valuation, talk about a bargain. Very good player and nice to see him in there with neymar and ganso.

Balotelli go be in there soon. Hart or Given (both # 1s), Lescott, Bridge, Adebayor, Bellamy(maybe), Ireland(maybe) might all be gone b4 d start of the season. I think Robinho stays and Jo might have a breakout season finally. Maybe by the End of next week "Man City's Squad" thread gna have to be re-done

What about Track & Field / Re: WORLD JUNIORS 2010
« on: July 23, 2010, 08:51:01 PM »
;D

Glad Jehue got off that record talk and focused on the win because I knew that Japanese kid would be trouble and he was - a lot of trouble...Kevin Young is a friend, so I know that Jehue is more than likely the next Kevin, but I also know that he is years away from Kevin Young-type times. That event is not an easy one to master.

This Jodie kid from the UK is a very, very good kid but like the British football team - a victim of the British press. They have hyped her immeasurably, including this streak that was accumulated beating mostly British nobodies. British sprints are probably in their worst state ever, with their 3rd best SENIOR 200m time being a time I ran...in 1992. Jodie, welcome to the REAL WORLD. If you aren't tough in this game, you won't last.

The shoulders of the road to greatness are littered with once-unbeatable, over-hyped juniors and this is the best thing that could have happened to her, even if now she thinks its the end of the world. It isn't.  Whether you are Usain Bolt or David Oliver you have to pay your dues.

Wow that was harsh, huh Maurice Greene's shadow? She's a kid and will learn, It doesnt matter who she won against, it was an incredible streak. I wish u were still around so u would get humiliated by Bolt, Gay, Powell, Thompson, Blake, Brown.... Yes even Brown would beat u, washed up superstar. But know how u full of ur self u would probably "school" them wouldnt u??? Lol

Well our athletes performed commendably which is a plus.

Jamaican athletes must however be highly congratulated for their performances, what a day - Blake (19.78), Gonzales (44.40), Chambers (44.5*), Spencer (defeating Lashinda Demus)

I know. Jamaica is performing excellent. Jam definitely deserves an "A " for this seasons performance. And Blake.... Dont be surprised if there are four Jamaicans in the 100m final for next year World Champs. Based on what I haveseen so far for, I dont think "ANY" Trini making that final. Except for Burns, cause he does always find a way in. lol

Glad to see Quow improved. But he has "alot" of work to do if he wants to make that final next year, hence medal.

What I could tell you though, is that KAB will make that final. She is improving gradually. And I think this year she will solidify herself as being a consistent 11.0s and sub 11 runner. I think she will run under 10.90 before the end of the season.

Ummm, she already did. She has the world leading time of 10.84s this year

so who is betting against Jehue breaking the World Junior record ?

I think we will see something special! He has the best chance of breaking the world junior record. Someone  posted that Lee was going to go sub 10 hence breaking Darrels 10.09 and 10.01. But out of all the world juniors participating in their event, Jehue has the best chance. Don't think Kirani is going to go sub 44, and I dont think Jody Williams is going to break Allyson Felix's 22.18. She will probably do it in the coming years though.

I heard that Lee was disqualified in the 200m. Would have love to see him and Kirani battle that out.

Look out for Selvon in the 200. She has a strong chance of getting a medal.
It was i who had expected lee to break brown's 10.01 but he didnt but won, Jodie i think she will run 22.2 hopefully break Felix's mark. Lee got disqualified from the 200m but saying him and Kirani would have been a great battle is wrong buz Kirani isnt in the 200m. Kai Selvon i hope she medals in the 200m, second behind Jodie of course.... :-D

Jodie Williams for Britain will win the Women's 100m and 200m (my lil cousin).... she dangerous and only 16 y/o, watch this space..... Am sure A.B knows about her

Is she yuh cuz? dat wud mean that she part trini then?! Since we doh have michelle i supporting Jodie.
Yes she is. She ran good in the prelims, easy race for her competition will only get harder but i think its hers to lose. I wish her the best. Looking forward to her beating d americans...lmao. I have Dexter Lee from Jamaica to win the 100m men. And i think he will run sub-10

She guna get some stiff competition from Ashton Purvis! She ran 11.17 but in perfect conditions it will be a mouth watering clash. Dex lee got that mens race from sure.
Honestly am not worried about Ashton. Ashton ran 11.68 not 11.17 in the semis, where did u get 11.17 from?? and Jodie Ran 11.59 in an easy race

Football / Re: Khaleem Hyland extends contract with Zulte Waregem
« on: July 20, 2010, 05:23:09 PM »
Not suprised at this move. I was hoping for it actually, he's a guaranteed starter for Zulte and he's still relatively fresh when it comes to European football. If he was a world beater then he probably would have gone. By January if he has a good first half to the season 'Interested' teams will be back. Stay where ur comfortable and its a top six team in belgium

not a bad choice, however i think he needs another agent imo
yeah dats true. Steve Davies is a load a shit. He only saying is unnamed teams but now that he extend u hearing is Juve and the team in Holland is Ajax and Ajax brokes and Italian league have limitations on non-EU players. Khaleem better sack he

Never supported Latapy as coach for T&T and never will, he picking d same players all d time. Cyrus played very well against Chile and lost his spot to dat shithound Aklie Edwards. We need a YOUNG team with a FEW experienced heads. I hope we dont qualify for the gold cup just so we can get rid of latapy. Peter Granville could pick a better national team than latas. Terry Fenwick is an ideal coach for us

Belgium is a good league for Khaleem, he's proving himself there and i think the teams are probably on the same level as most of the dutch teams. If he stays and has another solid season or a good first half he'll be on his way during the January transfer window. I think he should stay one more season in belgium. He's still young

It funny how for a typical trini a striker must be fast and skilful otherwise he not good.

If you naming the top 5 strikers in the world, only Torres fit that bill..if he even make the top 5.

Fabiano, Drogba, Eto'o, Villa, Rooney...none of them could really make trinidad side as a man who is collect the ball, face the defender and run at them.

I guess if we count C. Ronaldo  as a striker he could fit the bill...but even then that is just part of his armory.

but why yuh leave out messi, essien, tevez and robinho from there? bc they are not jones type strikers
Rly??? when essien play as a striker? last season??

Five mins extra time?? :o :o   this is nutten but pure favoritism!   the referee is ah spaniard ah ought??

Yeah, I was wondering where those five extra minutes came from myself.

This match hardly had any stoppages, certainly not enough to merit five minutes of extra time.
Is an English ref,  Howard Webb and she does do d same thing when Man U down in d EPL

Portuguese coach says rules favoured the Elephants...

Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz has criticised FIFA for allowing Cote d'Ivoire to use striker Didier Drogba in their World Cup opener.

The Chelsea striker had been in doubt for the match after having surgery on a broken arm, but FIFA decided that it should be up to referee Jorge Larrionda to rule on whether he could play with a cast on his arm.

"FIFA decided that the referee would make the decision. That sounds strange to us because the rules handed to the national teams state that players cannot play with a simple string bracelet and, all of a sudden, a player shows up with a cast on his arm, putting the Portuguese players at risk," Queiroz said at the post-match press conference.
"When people tell me there is an African football star that should play, I wonder if rules are the same for everyone. We saw the cast but we do not know what he really used. Perhaps against Brazil the rules will change again." (www.goal.com)
