A team lacking in technical abilities can make up for this deficiency thru hard work, fitness, athletic abilities and an Intelligent Coach who understands how to capitalize on the opponent's weaknesss.
As long as the Coach understands what it takes to beat his opponent and he understands his own team very well I don't see how he can lose.
You can have a team of players with the best technique ...if the Coach doesn't know his team as well as the opponent ..and if the players are not 100% committed ..it wouldn't matter.

..it looks like a good group..the quality of players looks decent..Brian is trying his best but the level his team is playing is only good against West Indian opponents.He has to teach his team how to press, counter attack and most importantly how to penetrate with numbers in the attacking third.
The defending is not bad. The players seem committed to fight for the ball.

Contro you are right about Maturana...we were playing very good football only to get better but he was undermined by Latapy and Yorke ...they wanted to coach...he wanted Latapy to play but Latapy refused.

The only team that is playing any football in this Hex is Costa Rica.
Mexico is very beatable ...
Panama is a spirited bunch and will trouble teams because of their fighting spirit.
USA ..like Panama will be motivated to fight for Arena.
Honduras...very beatable..they also have a fighting spirit though.
Whoever the next Coach is can pick up points from every game.
Hart needed a few tactical changes along with change of a few players..other than that he was the right man for the job...I am afraid that now we are in a bad situation... a very bad situation in this moment.

Of the list presented, only two coaches..(excluding Lawrence because he has no history)..I feel have the capabilty of leading the National Team to be a creditable performer in the Hex.
Both men are on par with each other with respect to the knowledge of the game...the rest are nowhere near.
The two men are Maturana and Hart.
Maturana may have a slight edge because of his style of play.

Tactically, in this league the overall defending is poor...thus the reason for the dominance of W Connection.
Connection is allowed to play without any real pressure and the speed of possession by Connection is slow...that alone shows the lack of fitness and tactical awareness by the players in this league.
The players are fit enough to play a very slow brand of football which lacks any real tactics that could help the player on the International level...case in point ..the overall performance of W Connection in the Champions league.
A lot of respect is given to Connection because of their local dominance but when you put the local game in perspective ..much is to be desired.

I have noticed that many forwards become unavailable but Shadow Winchester keeps being pushed to the forefront.
I don't understand why he gets to wear #10...
There seems to be an obsession by DJW with this player...to get this player to be man on the National Team..I say this because when the kid got shot in the leg, DJW presented Winchester to Hart...when Corneal Glen pulled up the Coach was told that Caesar was unavailable...he was given no choice but to play this Winchester...I am sorry to say that Winchester is not up to this level.
I know that nobody cares to read my posts..if I start a new topic it gets deleted..maybe someone on this forum would be man enough to shed some light on this.

Possess great organizational skills
As well as other points which have already been made on this board
Must be able to count to three ( unfortunately none of the Trinidad coaches besides Beenhaaker knows how to do that)
Must be a winner.

As a coach he seems to have some organizational knowledge but is limited tactically as well as strategically.
His teams don't seem to have the knowledge of the fine details in carrying out his tactics when playing behind the ball.
He doesn't counter attack well.
He likes to play a somewhat similar tempo to Trinidad but all the balls are predictable i.e all forward passing.
His defenders play too loose.
Without Ken Jones he will be handicapped.
His one weapon that is key to his style is Kenwyn Jones.
