Entertainment & Culture Discussion / Re: It ent only rock ‘n’ roll

No, seriously...they've already rejected quite a few commerce gigs...for example with KORN.  They strictly refuse to play with bands who require lots of money, who rip off their fans & bands who expect fans to pay more than 10 Euro...  Trust me...some bands really don't want to leave the underground scene.  Of course they enjoy to travel, but always in the "background".  The band exists since 1994 & they don't want the big breakthrough.  It is HONESTLY a "just for fun" thing.  As long as they have enough money to share their hobby with others, that's enough for them.  Believe me...they even blush when asked for an autograph...  Of course they play at large festivals, but they don't do it for profit...you can trust me when I tell you this, I should know.  Music is a right for everyone...not only for those who have money...

Moshfred eh?....allyuh does have mosh pits?
do people still do that?

Actually...yes.  Not all, but there are always quite a few who still do that.  I usually just enjoy watching, partying & having fun.  :)

Interesting...

The trini underground rock scene usually tends to reflect more american rock styles....although there are people that listen to that really hardcore black metal from the scandanavian countries....probably for attention more than anything else

ah well,, hope your boyfriends band gets the 'big showbiz break' one day  :beermug:

No, no, no...please no big showbiz break!!!  The band is a "just for fun" thing...  It's the underground scene which they prefer...not all the public commerce ****  All band members have their own jobs & they don't want to make profits out of the band nor do they want to make it to a band carreer.  They never require more money than they need to get to & fro a concert & all extra money that is "left over" is invested into the band...instruments, guitar strings, drums, etc...They're not into this commerce stuff like most famous or popular bands...

Black Metal is not really our taste...in the European underground scene, you can tell the differences, but I can't blame anybody who doesn't have much or anything to do with this type of music.  Most Black Metal fans here in Germany are kind of right-winged...we are NOT, though.  I must admit, though, that there are quite a lot of really good Scandinavian Grind- & Crust-Core bands!  Yes...really good...  :)

I'm not sure if there is anything like this in the Trini underground scene, but who knows?  For those of you who are interested, check out http://www.myspace.com/mindflair  It's a link to the band in which my boyfriend is the drummer...  Please don't be shocked, though...the music & the scene may seem very aggressive, but I can assure that (just about all) people in this scene are very nice.

Very sad.  Just heard it in the news.  :(  I always loved watching his show.  It was obvious that he loved his work, and this may sound sick for some people, but at least he died while doing something he enjoyed...he died very quick (like I heard, he actually died on the spot...that means at least no suffering for him)  & he didn't have to lie in a death bed like so many others...nonetheless, very sad-especially for his family.  May he rest in peace.

Preach it sista!

have to hand it to you european women - very self-assured.  :applause:

i can say that the older men that are the subject of this thread are the ones i go drinking with after work - and mostly we end up talking about european women rather than young ting. at least the circle that i'm in.

Thank you.  :)

I know many people seem to have problems with couples where the woman is older and/or taller, BUT the fact that we've been together for quite some time (monogamous) does speak for itself.  Something must be right then.  I really don't care if a man is rich/poor, black/white, tall/short, old/young...you see, it's the person inside the shell that counts & nothing more.  Sometimes I begin to think that those who make fun of us (mainly men, by the way) are most likely envious, because they know their women don't share my point of view, and that makes them , maybe a little, insecure!?... ;)

dutty fuh some reason when yuh lying dong everybody is de same height.if they doin standin up well that is ah horse of ah different color.small boy might need ah lil bench.lol

Generally that is true if yuh 2, 3 inches shorter...but ah foot is....well if both ah dem touchin toes..dat mean he head reachin by she hip area and is only one place he could............ohhhhhhhhh

I seeee

:rotfl:  Funny, BUT I corrected myself...1 foot was a typo.  I meant 1/2 foot.  That does make a slight difference.  :)

Now that I know what a douen is, I can answer...no, he is not a douen...believe me when I say he is a man...I've had men who were taller than me ( I'm 5"8 ) and now I have one who is younder and smaller than I am, but like I said, whether size nor age are important...at least for me.

Does age really matter?  I'm not so sure...  I've had a boyfriend who was 32 while I was 19 & he was more than childish and immature.  I don't think it's the age that matters, but how mature (or immature...depending on what you want) the person is...The father of my son is 9 years older than me, & I'm more than glad that we have nothing to do with each other anymore.
I happen to be 7 months older (AND 1 foot taller! :)) than my boyfriend, with whom I have been together with now for over 7 years.  As you can see, age isn't always important...at least not for all women.

yuh man is ah duende or what? :o :rotfl:

Me, being an uninformed German, do not understand all of your slang...what is a duende???

This isn't for people with weak nerves.  Before you click on the link, you must be aware that the ghost isn't visible right away.  You must look at the area around the table for about a minute or so.  If you concentrate long enough, you will ask yourself why you did't see it any sooner...  :)  Also, turn the volume up a little...if you listen closley, you can even hear the ghost...check it out

I, for myself, love dreadlocks, but it is a topic which could last for days once it gets started...just so many different opinions or reasons for liking/having them...I am so sad that I had to cut mine off (they weren't so great, anyway), but now I have SHORT hair & look like a man!!!  They need to grow FAST   :D
During the World Cup, while T&T was in Kaiserslautern, I have NEVER seen so many Dreadlocks at once...it was wonderful!!!
I have a link with quite a bit of information about dreadlocks.  Lots of it, I already knew (but not everything), but it's too much to type...very interresting.

First time I hearing 'bout this Dean Kelly.  The fella is a regualr poster ?

The reason I asking is because a lot of spam mail like that one going around these days.  Actually is a big problem on work by me.  The IT Dept send out messages warning people about opening mails with that same heading and others that similiar to it.  Some emails going around telling yuh how yuh win a free gambling trip, house loan approved, and the most common ones are for penis enlargement and viagra or cialis.  The mails coming from very common names...sometimes yuh might think you know the sender, only to realise is not who you thought is was.

The warning is if yuh don't know the sender...then doh open the mail.  Could be that this Dean Kelly fella probably don't even know he send the mail.  Could be from anybody on the site who get infected   ::)

This morning after I recieved the PM from Dean Kelly, I noticed that he was the latest member in this forum at the time & had 0 posts...I believe it was on purpose & that he very well knew what he was doing...

My son was in the same room as I opened the damn mail...I thought it was something important, since the subject was "Important news & information", or something like that...otherwise I would never have read it!  Try explaining such a pic to your own child!!!
Many thanks to Flex for taking care of the problem!!!

This is from the Indian Sansrit & it helped me during the hard times after my father passed away:

Yesterday is already a dream
And tomorrow is only a vision
But today, well lived,
Makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

What I find interesting in this whole conflict is that both jews and muslims come from the same ancestors, and the same people. They both acknowledge Abraham as their father, the starter of their faiths. They have such similar cultural religious practices. So many similarities. Same people, from same part of the world. But for the sake of religion (or the name of their religions) they are at war. I think sometimes God sits back and wonders what did he do in creating man.

Sad to say, but perhaps human beings should have never evolved at all...  :(
lemme see how much blows yuh going to get today for that statement lol
Even if...that's o.k.  I can live with it...and who knows?  The harder the blows, the more I just might think I could be right...  :)  What I wrote (above) is actually only a quote from a song from one of my favorite bands, Dystopia (I guess, for legal reasons, I should mention this...) Didn't mean to insult anyone in person, only mankind in general... ;)  Actually this was not really meant 100% seriously, but in every joke or sarcastic statement ther is always a tiny bit of truth/honesty...nonetheless, don't take it too seriously... ;)

Horrible, all this...
I have Lebanese relatives who live there and can't afford to leave the country...my Lebanese aunt lives here in Germany...we're all very concerned and worried...not only about our relatives, but for all who are affected.  I hope from the bottom of my heart that everybody who wants to leave the country makes it out safe and that God is on the side of all who can't flee...
When will people finally learn that this terror nonsense just isn't worth it?!?!?

That is one ugly player!

Since when does it matter how a football player looks?!?  or a musician, or an actor, etc...???  That's one thing I will never understand, so many girls saying "Oh my God, he's so cute...that's why I like him", or "He's so ugly...I don't like him".  What's that all about?  If a person is good in his profession AND happens to look good, that may be a nice side-effect, but not really important.

Beenie, Klinnsman and Lippi made smart decisions. THey came out of the WC smelling of roses for the most part and continuing with their respective national teams had very little upside and plenty of downside...spare a thought for Rudi Voeller...another young inexperienced German coach who was reverred as a class striker for the German national team. Took Germany to the WC 2002 final against all odds and was hailed a national hero. resigned with his tail between his legs after Euro 2004. Fans are fickle and love turns to hate real quick..All those caoches know what it is liked to be attcaked by people who claim to love them...and then we want to get vex about loyalty...Sometimes it is better to quit on top and move on to a new challenge...

Yes, exactly...they can't possibly be blamed for making the correct decision.
