I can understand Klismann's decision all the way.  I remember about 2 years ago when most Germans had no good words left for the poor guy.  He was being criticized by almost everyoe, and very many Germans even said that, with him being the coach, Germany has no chance but to lose the World Cup.  Nobody thought the German team would make it so far in the WC with Klinsmann as their trainer. 
Now, all of a sudden, everybody has changed their mind.  They all "love" him and want him to stay...
Who knows?  Maybe he would have decided to stay the coach of the German team if he had been treated a litle better from the beginning, but hardly anyone gave him a chance...I think it would be a real well-deserved smack in the face for all former Klinsmann-doubters if he decided to coach the U.S. team...

Sorry, no go...no family, no vacation (I've never been apart from my boyfriend or son for longer than 10 days at once)...and the camera isn't mine, it belongs to my boyfriend...

Yes, it's very hard at the moment to get a job over here in Germany...especially at my age.  The older you are, the harder it is to get a job, and most of all when you have a child (or children).  I even got fired once, because I was a single mother at the time and couldn't work during the evening...Thank goodness my son isn't too young anymore...the older the children get, the more chances one has to get a decent job.  The first question they ask during a job interview is: "Do you have children?"...If the answer is yes, the next question is always, "How old?"...  It's pretty depressing, but I won't give up...

I don't know what your definition of cute is, but thanks for the compliment...When I look at my pics I wouldn't even TRY to compare myself to all of those Trini beauties I saw!!!  They're much more beautiful than us europeans...

The people who were there seemed to enjoy my madness...sorry if you find it too much, but I would see it as a compliment for T&T...

K-Town might be small by other "big city" standards, but it was definitely rockin' on the day of the 20th.  The Lavantille Rhythm Section alone was enough to bring that city to its feet.  Nice pics, young lady, good to see that you had such a great time.  I think that of the 32 countries that participated in this tournament, ours was the one that brought the most flavour to our games.  I was in a couple of cities aside from the ones where we played and the fans at those respective games didn't have nowhere near as colorful and lively a display as we did.  Not even the Brazilians.

Yes, T&T definitely brought the most flavour to the game and to Germany!  It was absolutely great...

Then some other bands which most people most likely don't know, like...

Dystopia, Consume, Uncurbed, Capitalist Casualties, Flesh Parade, Lack of Interest, Sanity's Dawn, D.H.I.B.A.C., Reinfection and Mindflair (my boyfriend's the drummer). 

It always depends on the kind of mood I'm in at the time.

Yes, I wrote "in every country" because that's what I meant...in every country.  Since France is a country, I meant France as well.  I saw an interesting report just a few days ago and in an international survey, France was voted as the country with the rudest people...nonetheless, I know a few French people & have been in France a few times & have only met very kind people...I don't know where the meanies are hiding.    I'm sure they're there, but I haven't met any yet...

hello.  I must say I am very impressed with what you wrote, & I have to admit (considering the fact that you've been traveling around for 20 years) that you surely know what you're talking about, and have proved me wrong...I really hope, though, you didn't feel affended with what I wrote, because I really don't want to affend anybody.  Like I said, I would never defend the right-winged people, no matter from which country!  It is true, there are many problems in the eastern part of Germany and Eastern Europe.  That's a fact nobody can deny...I've been beaten up here myself once, just because I have foreign friends, But I am more than glad to have read out of your last entry, that there are lots of good people in Germany.  I believe there are lots of good people in every country.  I have also traveled around Europe a little (throughout Germany, England, Czech Republick, France, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland...mostly because of concerts) and I have met mostly nice people (at least 99 %)!  Of course, @ssholes will/can be found anywhere, but they were never the majority, no matter where I was.  No matter where we were, we always found a place to sleep, and mostly the people were complete strangers, but always extremely kind.  I'm very glad that so many people, foreigners as well as Germans, had a great time (& are still having a great time)  over here.  That's the way it was meant to be.

Best time I've ever had here in "Dead-City-K-Town"!  Too bad it was a once-in-a-lifetime-situation...    My boyfriend had to take all the pics, because I was too busy dancing, jumping and just having lots & lots of fun!!!  No time to hold a camera...

nice pics. I didn't have a clue that all of that activity happen in k-town. I got there around 230pm. I guess happen before i got there.

Not all the pictures are from the 20th, but most of them.  The carnival parade was from 12-2 pm.  The live act on stage began around 1830 pm.
The first pictures, however,  are not from the 20th, but on the 17th...there were 2 shows.
by the way, the (I believe second to last picture with me wearing the "be a plahah" shirt...the shirt was from Shurwayne...that's why I look so stupidly happy...    He threw it out into the audience, and lucky me caught it...

@ bounty killer, Yes, it is VERY annoying to hear this constant "Deutschland!!  Deutschland!!" from the (drunk) fans...I agree all the way.  It's o.k. to be for the German team, but this exaggerated patriotism from some really can get on one's nerves!!!  I hear my neighbor all the time, and my son can't sleep because of it...it's just too much.  I, as a German, must say I really hope Germany doesn't win!!!  Maybe then it will calm down here a little.  Actually, it became pretty boring the day the Soca Warriors left the counrty...not a lie. 

@ jub02, you're right...the Germans are causing much trouble, because it's so easy for them, considering that they are on home grounds.  I do believe, though, that if the WC were in France, it would be primarily the French fans causing trouble, or if it was in England then it would be primarily the English fans, or in Poland the Polish, etc...I'm NOT trying to defend the Germans, but I believe that I just may be right...at least a little

I am a Native American-German (German citizen) and also have very many friends (also German citizens, but who's roots come from Poland, France, Russia, England) and if there's one thing that really made us nervous as we heard the World Cup would take place in Germany was the topic: neo nazis...Believe it or not, Poland also has very many neo nazis (which I really CANNOT understand, but is nonetheless a fact).  Logically, most of our friends over here are (real) Germans, but strictly AGAINST neo nazis!  I just want everybody to know that most Germans over here are not racist, but we still have some idiots who are stuck in the past, just like England or France, for that matter.  I am really ashamed for all neo nazis...no matter what nationality!  I just hope people don't think all Germans are like the few neo nazis we unfortunately still have...The fact that everybody is pointing their fingers at the Germans is easy...they don't have to try to cross the German border...they're already here, sadly enough.

It's almost impossible to find out "who started", but I can say for sure that every country has its iddiots and when it comes to soccer, there are definitely too many idiots...especially in Germany, England, Poland...I Don't know who started the clash (and really don't care) because both the English AND the Germans are very capable of starting a fight in just about ANY situation...even more when drunk.  What's important is that not all Germans or English are like that and most people are ashamed for their "countrymen" who love getting involved in these fights.  I also believe that it is not the fans who like to get into fights, but the hooligans, and hooligans are not fans...they just go to games in order to rumble...sad, but true.

T&T gave us SO MUCH here in K-Town (Kaiserslautern)...much more than any other country involved in the World Cup...that there is absolutely only one thing we could do in return, and that is to love you for the wonderful time we had while you were here!!!

Like I said before...the Soca Warriors are my World Cup champions, no matter what!!!  They don't need a trophy in order to be a winner...  So what, they didn't win against Paraguay, but I know for sure that they are THE winners of the hearts over here in Germany.  Yesterday before the game, the city of Kaiserslautern (not only on the fan mile) was RED, WHITE & BLACK!!!    I will still be waving the same flag every time I go visit the fan mile.  I also have a few pictures from yesterday, before the game...if I have time I will post them soon...
Take care of your boys when they come home and give them the warmest welcome you can possibly give.  They deserve it!!!
