man real bereft of ideas. 5-4-1, levi up top just like last Gold Cup game against US. Canada squanders enough chances to 'only' win 3-0, never leaving 2nd gear. Eve talks BS to the media about The boys fought hard. After I do this  :banginghead: for a week or 2, back at it in the summer for more punishment. Life of a TnT fan.

Football / Re: Thread for T&T vs Jamaica Games (1 & 3 of March-2024)
« on: March 05, 2024, 06:35:02 AM »
before the talk get too far, remember that there were no FIFA international dates between our last round and this round of the play-in. So clubs were not bound to release players. So neither we, nor our opposition (nor Jamaica) could field their full strength teams. So Jamaica give our trialists and our local players a run so they could hopefully realize their deficiencies (for instance I would hope Alvin sending in crosses whole day, right as I type this).

no comments on the game?
of the 2 games i only catch the last 30mins of this (2nd) one.
my lil takeaway is that sadly we didn't unearth anything that will change the trajectory of the senior team this year. I wonder how many minutes Auvray and Natty getting in Jamaica, cuz to me they look like they regress bad. [cyah put in a decent cross fuh spit...don't make early incisive passes (hold the ball too long]. I'd keep calling Obikwu back, but don't think he should be playing any significant minutes unless is smaller caribbean opposition to gel better with the team.

what I does cyah take is the blowing smoke up we ass, so i ent even watching those comments. Canada was LEVELS above us, clear as day to anybody who have eyes to see. Only Cardines look like he belong on the same field as CAN U-20. Glad youth got the Senior call up too. Bless up!!

Obikwu is still 19, so I think we've all been clamoring to widen the pool. I ent grudge the call to see what he look like. Sometimes when u brokes you does have to stretch and multi-purpose de ting.

anybody understand why the play-in matches listed at minimum $290 a ticket (and only seem to include the closest seats to the field)?  https://www.vividseats.com/concacaf-nations-league-tickets-toyota-stadium---frisco-3-23-2024--sports-soccer/production/4788317, but the other Concacaf Nations League Semifinal and Final Matches start at $40 and seem to include the entire stadium? https://seatgeek.com/search?f=1&search=Concacaf%20Nations%20League%20Finals%20Presented%20by%20Qatar%20Airways%20Semifinal&ui_origin=home_search

Anybody have a TTFA ticket link?

for all intents and purposes, two fellaz went home for Carnival and talk to Eve saying they want to try out. Eve then say lemme see your videos, then come tru, the locals having a camp in a few days. You can't have no formal invite for players at clubs on non-Fifa dates. so we have to temper the "scouting" talk.  [disclaimer: this is my rumshop talk - no verifiable info involved].

Wonder if and when we'll be able to access the full text to see the "outrageous nonsense" Selby was referring to.
Also, the slice and dice of the votes seem [from my own very non-informed perspective] like it could use a shake-up. And the most concerning part for me about the whole thing is if amending sensible things like these - the distribution of the votes - needs to have FIFA's approval. [Yes I could see how this very thing might have been how certain dictators in the past would have rigged the system to stay in power and exercise other corrupt practices...  so a two edged sword].
I hope the 2 votes each for the Pro league Team is if they actually field a women's team? or every Wolf team also has parity in votes?
Also, I think the SSFL should be rewarded for having a better functioning system than ...virtually all of the other member associations, and should be at least temporarily rewarded with extra votes -- a bigger say in charting the way forward for the football in the country. [despite what a large faction on here think that ssfl is a hindrance, i think in the absence of european-style academies, which is a pipe dream that only people living in europe would bray for and about, works well for t&t's reality, and our recent "success" can be tied directly to players out of that league -- we just have to accept that our players will peak later and have slightly shorter careers].

Pulisic don't have to be overrated for Levi to be really good as well. Is not either or. Pulisic almost single handedly dismante the Hart team in Jacksonville that we all had so much hope in.

Bless up man! Keep working hard, many miles to go but a significant milestone on the journey.  :beermug: I love a lot of your attributes as an attacking player - burst of speed, good follow up, intelligent runs. Please hunger to learn more and round off your game. You and Telfer do great for T&T.

_2026, I think the part you missing is that the US is now 11 in the World. Did you notice how defensively England played against them in the last WC?

can't really complain too much. Eve was always going to park the bus [once we not playing Caribbean opposition] and do the same with 11 -- worse yet with 10. Plays with 10 defenders. Nominally,  if the lone 'striker' can bring a deep Telfer (or sub Williams) into the play that is where we tend to catch a couple teams... or a couple of other variations of that.
A real small island brand we playing against the big guns.
I get it to start a game for the most part..but what I don't get is how there is never any on the fly variation -- no overload...no, this stanza of the game we will switch it up a little, make some observations, then fall back into this. I guess if Leo could do similar at a whole WC and we forever hail him, then why not Eve right?

well all that oil to fry the bara will give you cholesterol instead (of high sugar)!! :) i could be wrong, but i think even the split peas recipe call for flour (gluten?) to hold everything together. Eddoes (yauita) and yam (yuca) and ting does raise the sugar too? [i put the spanish names so you might be more likely to find in the hispanic isle or spanish grocery store).
Sorry I didn't answer the question, but hopefully my words were better than silence :) [somebody else turn].
