GG-3 good for a goal in this one man! (after all that money spend!?!?)

The Soca Warriors were handed BOL kits before their opening Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying fixture against Guyana on 25 March and refused to wear them due to concerns about the quality. Instead, the team continued to play with Joma kit, although the TTFA’s contract with that company expired over two years ago.

wow!

Football / Re: Luke Singh Thread
« on: April 17, 2021, 02:36:30 PM »
They are playing him out of position, basically 3 at back, with him left, and he’s lost for the pace of the wingers. He doesn’t close down nor tackle fast enough. They should be playing 4 at back. Mtl is beating them on the wings and isolating the back 3. Toronto mids were nowhere in any of the goals. He doesn’t look like an answer to TT defensive woes, but he’s young, he will improve if given the opportunity. 4-1 , 11 minutes left. DeLeon on as well. Nothing special.

Add: Singh seems quite comfortable with the ball at his feet, and aware and confident with his distribution. Deleon seems to be in an attacking role, but hardly getting played in.

Final: 4-2
Anybody else saw it.

I find your opening paragraph was real apologetic  ;D. I didn't see the 1st 2 goals but the last one, the man cut right by him and he ent stick a foot nuttin. I agree with you that he don't shy way from the ball at his feet and that if he manage to stay in the TO first squad he should improve some by the end of the season.

Molino the crack egg, he’s never around when we really need him.....no fault of his of course, what else can I say.
Spot on here mate but I'm not even bothered this time. Good chance to see if we can rope in Mckenzie at Kilmarnock. He plays the very same position. 🤷🏾‍♂️

If getting a passport is involved, see him next GC.
Haha I can't even doubt you here pal.
It's typical, the incompetence in our administration in TnT, no matter who's there, it's the same problems 🤦🏾‍♂️
Well if a man could live out 27 years of he life and never see it fit to apply for a T&T passport..I ent go really toss that whole egg in the basket you throwing it into bro. Men does want you to bow and kneel to dem.

I eh know how to embed anymore.

This is the previous game.  LG concede a penalty in injury time that was saved, then LG run down to the next end and laid it on a platter for the fella.  Beautiful play.

Thanx for the clips. I like where he playin man. That Tankovic player on his team is class man. And he seem to have chemistry with Olivera. On the down side he have to train harder on defending corners (I know he short, but he positioning could use work). And he cyah be striking every free kick on target and hoping for a bubble back - mix it up a little man. Overall I go be good if he season here a little bit a year or so more. If only Joevin could get a lil bligh in this league.

Another one who was marked for greatness but sat of his laurels and did absolutely nothing to improve his game and allowed himself to wither into a standard pro league player. these TT players all start off hot and sweaty with high expectations on the horizon but within a few years plateaued into obscurity.

We have a real saga boy sports culture here in trinbago, and football for damn near most of these lads is to land them notoriety and the perks that go along with it, but the other aspects of the game means nothing to them, like striving to play in the best leagues in the world by improving their skill set and aiming to please the fans by putting in the necessary hard work like top ballers around the world.

They seem to think that neymar, messi, christiano, salah, sterling and even pulaisic all have natural football super powers and play all season without putting in the hard work, and when practice is over these guys go home and paint the town on their free time and the off season funning and flexing, when in reality they go all out putting in the extra back breaking work keeping their fitness level and working on their weaknesses.

I could only hope the lads like poon ageron, Gary griffith 111, Levi garcia, Noah powder and the youngsters coming up know that in order to be marketable and play in the big leagues they have to put in the strenuous laborious nonstop work on their craft.

are you the top in your field soldier?

It is so funny that a post like this that made so much sense and actually offered actual names and viable options.....no one is commenting on it. But the posts cursing the coach and the players from the game against the USA have pages of comments.
For me at least, the main squad Sam call out here look a lot like the one that collect 6 from the US last time and a good amount pass their prime and were found lacking (and Fenwick ent really show to be any better tactically than Dennis, yet). The "players for the future" and "young and decent talent" should really be proving themselves somewhere before we throw them en-masse on our senior national team (I am absolutely for the one or two who are proving themselves here and there -- ala Dwight) -- Don't know if that means more games for this "U23 squad" against the Bangladeshes and Kuwaits of the world (Similar to how the US used us in this game ...TTFF don't have that kinda money), or what, but in an ideal world the youths would be getting contracts in good leagues and developing within good club structures.
Fenwick talk for months and months about youth and young squad, so I hope this was a publicity stunt to get the TT football public vex, to then show what the real squad of youth could do in a build-back-up to that level, bringing the joy to T&T football public again. But most likely I dreaming, and Hadad secret money tree will dry up and Angus will be the coach and we'll be talking about 2038 for sure.

Why is fenwick keeping the players who are eligible for us a secret .
I don't blame him for this. With them foreign born youths, I wouldn't count my chickens until they show up either.

I did however notice the same things Insider talk about -- in pre-match interviews Fenwick talking about USA Europe based players as if it was our poor little under 23 boys against something that not supposed to be equivalent; no change is strategy during the match, little no no tactical acumen. I get the same wool over the eyes vibes that I got from Dennis early on. I believe in giving people their fair chance but I noticing...and the underhanded contract scenario only shorten my fuse for him.

We are all missing the point and clearly supporters don't know our players. The nucleus of the team that played last night have played together at u17 and u20. They were the u17 Team that Seam Cooper took to within one game of the u17 worlc cup.

Starrters
#4 Josiah Trimingham
#5 Leland Archer
#11 Jebari Mitchel
#8 Andre Fortune

Subs
#13 Mathew Woo Ling
#15 Naveal Hackshaw (u20 only)

Didn't play
Brent Sam

There is no excuse about not gelling or foreign vs local.... they plaved u17 and U20 together.
Of the New recurits....only 2 played
#3 Pena
#18 Fortune (younger brother)

Lets talk about playing both #12 Jamal Jack and #16 Alvin Jones out of position. They were probably the players best able to deal with the situation but were wasted because they were out of position. jamal Jack is not a wing back and might even be a but on the heavy side at the moment. Alvin Jones should have reverted to right back after Pena was replaced...or even replaced him before that.
And why was the only left footed player left on the bench and leave Jamal Jack out there to look bad.

And you run #8 Mitchell and #7 Telfer unto the ground and you have Brent Sam in the bench.
Kudos to #13 Woo Ling and #14 Poon Agreon who came on in the midfield and showed some composure along side #10 Duane Muckette (Rasta)

I like this post. I glad Mitchell got run, that was one of the few positives to take from the game. He need some more professional exposure (that was a super rash tackle), but he could probably step up. Poon & Woo Ling will not replace Molino, Joevin or Garcia so they competing for one spot maybe..but keep both in the mix to train.
Pena caused at least 3 goals -- I'd like to not see him again for a while. Jack..if you say he was out of position well...but he real contribute to goals too. Otherwise I like your list and let's see who we could pick up from England as well as the one-offs all over the globe. could put together a squad with a fighting chance.

ok. so who could we take from this exercise? For me:
Telfer could stay - basic player I'd put him in for a 1st half against the St Kitts Nevis-es of the world, or if you up and holding on to a lead. I think he puts in his effort for the full 90 so I only hope he improve (build some chemistry or something that will give him a better edge).  But if he's our #1 fwd we ent going a dam place this hex.
Muckette could hold down Hyland job. If we can't replace Hyland b/c of lack of depth then I would be fine giving Hyland a more defensive role and having Muckette more creative.
Woo Ling I would give a chance, keep in the mix. Nice touches and with more experience & opportunity can hopefully grow in the next couple years.
Alvin...b/c I've seen him play better -- men ent play competitive in a year, but I think he can do better.
For me the rest could stay home after this Puerto Rico/ Guyana round.
I don't want to see Foncette in goal again for T&T.

Dre Fortune
H Arcia
R Telfer
B Sam
J Jiminez

sorry, with the lack of quality in midfield, vs usa to boot, I would be surprised if we don't see a 5-4-1 (defense looking to me like our strongest area). I think we could pull off a respectable scoreline 2-0, 3-0 usa and the youths would have gotten a solid 90 mins vs the top of our region. win for everybody involved.

« on: December 24, 2020, 11:13:56 AM »
Some ppl keep being mystified by Cyrus and his selection, but if you see the player there ought to be no mystery about him being selected to the NT.

I am one of those people, so please demystify his continued selection.
I was also harsh on Cyrus when emotions we high and he keep muckin' up, but I remember 'Seeker and a couple other's comments when I re-watch this match recently - that coaches keep picking him for a reason.
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/aln_y3LUXVY" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/aln_y3LUXVY</a>
He remind me of Dennis Lawrence so much - a huge f**k up (in my opinion) and inconsistent character until Beenhaker straighten him out in his twilight years. Maybe lightning will strike twice and the right coach will put him in the right place.
But to me his control and speed with the ball here (at least in this over 5 yr old video)  *for a tall fella* isn't too bad.
Of course everything in context with what other options we have if any.

I think the logic in the argument lil upside down. Fact 1) Children can't drive themselves around so currently parents tell them to stay home and they are home. Fact 2) Children infection rate is lower than adults.
(seems at least partly causal to me).
Suggestion by RG: Let the children come out b/c they 'not getting covid" at high rates ???
Parallel suggestion: line up the kids on a wall and only shoot one in 100 of them.

I think RG's opinion will change if (God forbid) he personally knew somebody who died (or even was hospitalized for) covid.

By summer i think most kids would be vaccinated and life should 'return to normal'.
