realistically speaking, if u was a foreigner looking in from the outside, you would agree with that statement.
Lets be honest people, we in deep deep deep shit in WCQ.
No if nor buts about it.
Its just we have to keep believeing, cause we know them fellas unpredictable, and is we country we talking about. We cant stop supporting them.
mathematically, we all know it still possible, but some of us here know how T&T responds when we under pressure (eg. strike squad in 89, plus Vs jamaica in 1992, the semi round in 96 when we got 1 pt from 6 games, and the final round in 2001, when we get only 5 pts from a possible 30).
TT has NEVER done anything in the past to prove they have what it takes to overcome serious adversary.
I imagine all 5 other teams in the competition now looking to take as much points from us as they can.
Yuh cyah expect to go world cup and not win at home, plain and simple.
I doh care how improved we look vs costa rica the odda day, we needed to win. As far as i concerned, we play total shit and lucky to get a point.
CR will look good AND ALSO MOST LIKELY BUSS WE ASS IN SAN JOSE, thats the difference between T&T and the other teams in this competition.
We need some serious luck if we are to finish 3rd in this round.
Improved play will not get you to a world cup, goals, good defense, and lucky run will....
I hope Leo have some tricks up his sleeve.

for whoever he playing against, club wise, and internationally.

Thats his history, when he dry, he dry bad, but when he start scoring, he scores multiple times, REGULARLY.
Class strikers can only be out of form for so long, and Stern is class.
I jus hope it coincides with our next set of WC games.
If we are to make a run in the remaining games, we need a forward to get in the form of their life, Stern will most likely have to be that man.

i came on around 2000, late 1999 at think, some people think im a new comer, lol, dats de truth though, since 1999 or 2000 ive been here

I came on board in early 99 on Marc's site too, them days i was more waring too (guess it was more youth in me).
Also cause i was based in Ja full time, i would have it out on the RBZ site alot, i rememebr serious wars I had with with RF and Portia.

I remember the day I switch from Purcell to Flex site, at the time it was weird, kinda like how we change from the old site to this new one.

we play in a while, its also the first game in 7 that we failed to score.....

Why cant we have a good game and also score goals?

Also, we have 2 months for the next game, hopefully Dog, Theobald will be fit and no more main injuries.
Men like Seaton, Dwarika, Nixon, sealy., etc etc will all have a fresh slate to impress the new coach.
This is good.

In terms of suspensions, i heard selwyn melville say that Yorke got a card, but i aint see it on the fifa site, if he did, he will be out the next game vs Panama at home. But seeing that Mex will be 4 days after that game, he will be recalled no doubt.
Panama i see have a couple men on the fifa reports who now have 2 yellows, men name Baloy and Mitre. This could affect them.
I jus glad for the 2 months to regroup for us and hope the forwards get back some form in the meantime.

When u think about it, last 2 times we play CR in T&T, we lost both, so it is a decent result.
But we really need them extra 2 pts.

Anodda thing, for all the kudos the team get for the performance, they hardly make the CR keeper sweat too much.
We gave Kasey Keller more stress in feb than we did to the CR keeper in this game.
The overall play here might have been better though.

1) Damn - We had to have played real bad to concede 5 vs Guatemala.

2) The US have one big advantage when playing at home-they play with intensity, every single ball, they fight like warriors. For a time, Guat was matching them, just as the second half start, but their fitness and individual technical capabilities, damn, maybe even tactically as a TEAM, they couldnt maintain the high pressure for more than 15 mins. But for the 15 mins they pressure the US, the US became very uncomfortable. Soon after, it was back to the same ole, US controlling the game completely, frustrating the GUAT players and making it look like it was 16 vs 11 players. TT have to take note of this. Guat looked woeful for long periods.

3) a draw vs the US will be VERY VERY DIFFICULT, I dont know if we can withstand that kinda intensity for 90 mins. We have to work on set plays for this kinda game.

4) Guat should get a serious 4-0 at home, thats how we have to aim, cause if we tie them in points, FIFA uses head to head matchups next, and the 5-1 we get will be our undoing, imagine how we will bawl if it comes down to that and they get in over us. But from the commentary and reports today, and the way I see the US neutralise the Guats, we should be looking to put a licking on them real bad.

5) Panama - lard, panama play so unorthodox it not funny. Even when we beat them 7-0 las time, they were a decent team, beating jamaica, narrow loses to Mex etc etc, but they have improved vastly as well. They have skills to burn, one on one. Giraffe man will get eat up by them and their unorthodox way of attack. But they look jittery lots of the time, and even kinda weak physically. I dont see why we cant beat them in POS, in Panama, it will be a very hard game, not even Ja, USA and now Mex could beat them there. Their stadium remind me of Trinidad days of the sea of red,maybe that will have an effect on our players?

6) Mexico play a good away game, but Panama show that they could be beaten. Real nice 2 goals in that game

I cant see why not, with a lill bit of luck, why we cant get 9 pts at home from our remaining home games.
We still need a 3 pts on the road though, we will have to beat one of these teams.

If u take away the 5-1 we get in the Guat game, this group real even so far with all the teams.

i said over and over BSC was the best local we had in terms of achievements and to an extent, the national team.

If he cant do it, i still maintain nobody else local can do it either.

in CONCACAF, Mexico, Guatemala and CR i think have foreign coaches.
Not too sure about Panama, but wont be surprised.

Nutten big in going foreign, even England do it.

I definitely think we need to go international at this point.

Agreed - we put in a much better performance than expected perhaps, but:

1) Didnt we do that vs the US and then self detruct? We still have to prove we can play well consistently

2) Playing at home, after a licking, maybe last game for your coach....This would inspire anyone to play superhuman, knowiing its your last dice roll more or less. So this was our best. CR came and still got a point, even created some chances. Suppose we cant cope with their best at their home when that time comes. I mean the US coped with our best at home too. So if all these teams can come to Trinidad and cope with our best and still take 3 and 1 pt, imagine when we face them at their home, at their best. (we saw a glimpse of that on Sat)  

Playing and proving u can compete is all good, but thats not what it is about at this stage, its about getting 3 pts minimum at home to have realistic chances. Whether we score one goal and play shit for 90 mins, I taking that over playing good and only getting 1 pt.

I really hope we can turn it around, but it will take IMMENSE LUCK, GOOD RESULTS BETWEEN THE OTHER TEAMS and somebody to just stand up and carry this team on the field.

Although we play so good today, listening to the commentary, everytime we came to the decisive moment, we do shit, it was almost just expecting Selwin Melville to anticlimax his voice anytime something exciting start, thats how i was feeling, waiting to hear the ball get deflected, bad pass, etc etc. We didnt even play to make their keeper make a string of brilliant saves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine that, and we all celebrating a performance!
I coulda understand if we rock up they bar, or they keeper put down a Shaka Hislop vs Honduras kinda display, be we didnt even do that.......
Lemme stop, I getting too negative.

you dont have time to build on games, thats what friendlies are for and 3 years of prep.

EVERY SINGLE GAME COUNTS NOW IN THIS ROUND.

We already play one third the games and have 1 pt.

We still aint go to the US and  Azteca where we cutass usually in a nice big red box waiting for us.

And we aint talk about CR in CR yet, another place at altitude where we have never won.

Result for result, this ws a good performance and result, i mean CR is usally a very hard team for us, and considering we got a draw with them in 89 at the heights of the strike squad , yes. Heck, they perenially put 5 on us anytime we meet at any youth level, so taking that into consideration, they (CR) must be feeling like 2 pts dropped, while is a solid result for us. Remember they walked over us in POS in 2001 too.

But we are in a deep hole already.

I sincerely hope u are right and we could turn it around, but I just going on T&T past track record.

0-0 with CR.

We pretty much out of it now. I know is 7 games still, but effectively we are out now.

As a BSC supporter, I wil admit that he should be replaced, BUT IF ONLY WE MAKING A PROGRESSIVE STEP BY GETTING SOMEONE WHO COULD FIT THE MOULD, ie Fenwick, or Ricky Hill,Gally, Simoes, even Steve Sampson, etc etc.
But them names called is more of hope than realistic.
If we not getting somebody like that, leave BSC in place. No anonymous coaches please.

7 games left, still mathematically possible, but improbable. We needed to be minimum 3 pts after 3 games, we only have 1 and play to home already.
Ball is in the TTFF court now (have mercy), and we have 2 months before the next game.

From the reports, the team play real nice, but that aint good enough, as far as i concerned, we play total tata and lucky to get a draw. These games now, pts count, not how you look.
As I say already, any team could forget about scoring and jus play to look nice, so no props there for T&T.
Our forwards woefully out of form, thank God we have a 2 month break!
