The simpleton answer is because there is still a mathematical chance of Jamaica advancing to the HEX.
Why do people have to look everywhere for hard answers.  ::)

Nervous! Why should I be nervous!!!!! The Reggae Boyz are in the best position as they should ever be in. Success through adversity will see the Reggae Boyz score more than the necessary goals needed and advance to the HEX.
With the lackluster performance of their team in the qualifiers Klinnsman will want nothing more than a win. So will the US players whom are seeking selection spots on the team.
now yu talking from yu kakahole star.. reggaeboyz in the best spot praying dat U.S beat guatemal or guatemala beat U.S so  JA can qualify? Come on star yu nuh mek no freeking sence dey...Reggaeboyz can score 50 goals against A&B dem stil depend on a victory for U.s or Guatemala against each other ,suh this adversity yu talking bout is a pack a shit.. Jamaica right now aint going nowhere until the U.S Guatemala clash.. and did you see the antigua game against Ja in Anitgua? well trus me antigua look really good and should have gotten 3 points from ja in that game.. everyone on this forum know I love Mi JA team but facts is facts and fiction is fiction.. Look like Jamaica will have to think about the gold cup now..

war
Both matches start at the same time. It's your choice to give up hope which places you IMO on the bandwagon. The Reggae Boyz have one last match to play. Why do you think your overall factual picture of doom is accurate before a ball is kicked?

Jamaica really shit dung themselves this rounds boi.. wey easy freeking group like this and they making it hard yet again.. JA has owned Guatemala only to gave up 3 points to them in a world cup qualifier. Antiga almost beat them In antigua last world cup qualifier.. it nuh look good at all for mi Other team here sah...

::) Everyone also said it was an easy group for the US but Jamaica's Reggae Boyz took 3 points from them and at least give themselves an advantage to qualify for the HEX in Jamaica's last game at home in The Office against  Antigua & Barbuda. And with the less than impressive display by the US not easily dominating the group as predicted by many. The onus will be on them to beat Guatemala in front of a sold out Sam's Army home support since they can also be eliminated. The US likes to win at everything because they believe they are the best at everything and they will want to prove it against Guatemala.
The Reggae Boyz will go all out against A&B the second the whistle blows tomorrow. I won't guess how many goals the Reggae Boyz will score, but at the end of 90-plus minutes Jamaica's Reggae Boyz will qualify for the HEX at the expense of the US or Guatemala. It's likely to be Guatemala. ;D
Ah hope so for your sake.

the last semis allyuh got booted out on goal difference and yuh bawl how jack put allyuh in the group of death, now that allyuh is almost in the same predicament as us the last semis where we had USA, guatemala and cuba (antigua barbuda being the same calabre as cuba), now let me see who uno will blame this time around for not making the hex.

BTW, good luck, i'm routing for yuhs guys, yuh better pray the US cream guatemala, bc they will come out fighting like wild animals since they missed the last hex.
Unfortunately, it was indeed Jack that things worked out the way they did against Jamaica and now the whirlwind has returned to lashed T&T with the misfortune of Jack no longer at the helm of the ship.
Don't be ah dunce fella, jack and capt burrell is the best of friends and pardners in crime, yuh think jack will do in his gangster friend like dat??

And yet Jack still screw Burrell everytime Jamaica was placed in a tough group. You just don't want to believe that Jack was the greatest spin-doctor in CONCACAF. Look at what he has done the the TTFF. :banginghead:

Jamaica have to make sure they dont get beat from Guatemala.
It will be a hard game in Guatemala.

Ruiz and them is desperate battling since 2006 days versus TnT. This is their last chance.

If JA go into the last game 3 point s behind needing the USA to win they in real trouble. because if US also 3 Pts ahead they will not chase the game because a draw will take both Guatemala and USA through.

Not saying they will fix the game,

But if USA do not go out to win and Guatemala park the bus game could easily draw.

Beat Guatemala on the road and they in.

Tie and look to finish the story at the office and hope for help....
Except Jamaica does not have to beat Guatemala. As you said it is Guatemala who will have to beat Jamaica since a draw would be good enough for Jamaica who will play Antigua & Barbuda in The Office for their last game. Guatemala, however, will play the US in Kansas City. No way the US will allow Guatemala to beat them at home. And if Guatemala manages a draw with the US it will not be enough because 8 points (if Jamaica beats them) or 9 points (a draw with Jamaica) will not be enough.
With that scenarios a win in Guatemala and draw against A&G (if Guatemala beats the US) for the Reggae Boyz would qualify Jamaica for the HEX.

Here are the possible scenarios for teams to advance to the HEX:

Sando - I share your sentiments and to add insult to injury. the commentators were saying Caribbean teams
do not travel well. Jamaica really looked like Trinidad lately, I think the Coach has to take some blame for after parking the bus and seeing the ball hit the post on three occasions, Yuh know it aint working.
Having pressured the ball in the first game and using the pace of your forwards to unsettle USA - Why not go with that strategy. Jamaica showed USA too much respect. now they are in danger of not getting the second spot. USA have Antigua and Guatemala at home . JA beating Guatemala at home is not an easy task.
It may well go down to Goal difference.

I dont think anyone here expected the USA to lose back to back games to Jamaica or any other team in CONCACAF for that matter. Yes, something stinks about Jamaica's approach to the game, but i think you have to give the USA the respect they deserve playing at home.

Now, in terms of games remaining and which two teams are likely to go through, at this point I like Jamaica's chanches of getting through with the USA. Guatemala will almost certainly lose against the USA in the USA, while Ill bet money that Jamaica will route Antigua in Kingston on the final match day if they need a victory to advance. Jamaica travels to Guatemala before that in waht will no doubt be a tough game, but even if Guatemala wins that game, I still think Jamaica will route Antigaue in the office to advance ahead of Guatemala.
Hate to disagree with you for the first time RF. But the game plan was working until our goalkeeper gifted US the goal in the second half. Then the Reggae Boyz showed that this US team is not all that.
Jamaica will still advance to the HEX with 13 points with 6 points from our last two games.

'Tappa' tickled - After mature Boyz blank El Salvador 2-0

WASHINGTON DC, USA — Jamaica's senior footballers appear to have matured sufficiently and are now dominating some Central American countries, and head coach Theodore Whitmore is enjoying this phase of their football development.
The latest evidence was brought to the fore on Wednesday night here at the RFK Stadium when the Reggae Boyz blanked El Salvador, 2-0, courtesy of a goal in each half (16th and 66th minutes) from leading all-time scorer Luton Shelton.

Really! Knowing that Guyana nor Bermuda have never knocked Jamaica out of a World Cup qualifier is the  reason for not coming on this forum. Compared to you boasting of the Soca Warriors advancing to the HEX everytime the Reggae Boyz did not.
What is there to say when the painful truth is obvious.
So I can understand you trying to cover up your pain of the failure of your team to advance to the semi-final of World Cup qualifiers.  :peace:

So Tappa lost his first match. Big deal. He also has 4 wins and a draw. All  in 2012. Why didn't Oral Tracey point this out.
Panama won fair and square against a non-cohesive Reggae Boyz central midfield, with the exception of Joel Senior at left-wing whom was brilliant throughout the match. Making tackles and troubling the Panamanian defence.
And does anyone in their football right mind really believe that Jamaica's Reggae Boyz will play that poorly for the return friendly with Panama; and the World Cup qualifiers with Guatemala and Antigua & Barbuda.
Watch the Jamaican waggonists jump back on the bandwagon after these matches.  :flamethrower: them. ;D

Jack Warner: The Comeback

Posted on May 16, 2012 4:56 pm

Admit it.

You all thought that my continuing to write about Jack Warner was at least a little pointless.

The man is toast, done, out of the game forever, right? Sure he’s still got some political pull in T&T and so he’ll never end up in the prison cell he so richly deserves, but so what?

At least he’s out of football, and that’s all we really care about. Right?

Right?

Newness Won't Impact Reggae Boyz

Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) General Secretary, Horace Reid, does not believe that several new call-ups to the national squad - despite the start of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers being less than a month away - will negatively impact the Reggae Boyz as they look to assemble a squad capable of securing a spot at the 2014 World Cup Finals in Brazil.

Six new players were presented, along with the rest of the 24-man squad, for Friday's friendly international against Guyana at the Montego Bay Sports Complex, at a press conference at the JFF headquarters yesterday.

They are Portmore United duo Rosario Harriott and Ewan Grandison, Arnett goalkeeper Damion Hyatt, Harbour View striker Jermie Lynch and Watford (England) duo Nyron Nosworthy and Adrian Mariappa, two of 10 overseas-based players in the squad.

In addition to the debutants, several players were recalled, chief among them midfielders Omar Daley (Motherwell), Sean Fraser (Alianza) and defender Lance Laing (Fort Lauderdale Strikers). Also returning to the squad for Friday's 8 p.m. encounter is Jamaica's leading all-time scorer Luton Shelton, who now plies his trade for Turkish side Karabükspor. Shelton has missed the last couple of games after suffering an injury early in the season.

Several changes

In total, there have been approximately 12 changes since the team last played to a 0-0 draw against Costa Rica in March, with several players - including Ricardo Fuller and Marlon King - yet to feature.

Concerns have been raised in some quarters that with the qualifiers set to begin against Guatemala on June 8, not having a definite squad could be detrimental to team chemistry.

However, from Reid's perspective, having a deep squad and several choices will be just as necessary. Also included in the squad are three players from local Premier League winners Portmore United.

"It's important that we continue to widen our pool, because the campaign is a long one and one has to always be prepared for all the different factors that can come into play," Reid told The Gleaner.

"I remember in the 1998 campaign, at a crucial stage we found ourselves with a goalkeeper crisis, and we had to use a debutant in the goal. So it is always important to widen that pool; everyone won't play at the same time.

"The search for talent is always ongoing, it keeps all the players on their toes, it keeps the squad fresh and it keeps everybody focused once there is competition in the squad," Reid pointed out.

In addition to Guatemala, the Reggae Boyz have been drawn in Group A alongside Antigua and Barbuda and regional powerhouses the United States.

14 overseas-based Boyz for Guyana game

HEAD coach Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore has summoned 14 overseas-based players for a friendly international against Guyana slated for the Montego Bay Sports Complex on May 18.
Among them are the Waftord pair of Nyron Nosworthy and Adrian Mariappa, whose availability is subject to their Jamaican immigration and citizenship documentation verification.
Others invited are Chris Humphrey (Motherwell Scotland), Omar Daley (Motherwell Scotland), Ricardo Fuller (Stoke City England), Damion Stewart (Notts County England), Nathan Smith (Chesterfield England) Claude Davis (Crawley Town England), Keammar Daley (Preston North End England), Marlon King (Birmingham England) Lance Laing (Fort LauderdaleStrikers USA), Darren Mattocks (Vancouver (Whitecaps USA), O'Brian Woodbine (VPS Finland), Luton Shelton (Karabukspor (Turkey).
Of the 14 players, there are seven defenders, three midfielders and four forwards.
It's the first time in a spell that so many England-based players have been named in a Reggae Boyz squad -- due mainly to the players' availability as the UK football season winds down.
Also, Whitmore is using the opportunity to have a fresh look at the established members, plus close-ups of the new recruits as he homes in on his final squad for CONCACAF Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers due to kick off inside the National Stadium on June 8.
"Having looked at our overseas-based and local-based players, we are now finalising plans," the former Jamaica international was quoted as saying in a release from the JFF.
"As we face a long qualifying period ahead, it has been necessary to look broadly, home and away and to be very open in our objective of putting the best available team on the pitch for every game," the release added.
The Guyana game comes exactly three weeks before Jamaica open their World Cup qualifying campaign against Guatemala at the CONCACAF semi-final stage.
Jamaica, ranked 47th by FIFA and the Caribbean's No 1 team, also have Antigua and Barbados and the USA in their group of the home-and-away play-off series.
Whitmore has indicated that fans will begin to see the shape of his squad emerging with the Guyana match-up and two quickfire games against Panama on May 27 in Kingston and a return in Panama City five days later.
Most, if not all, of the current overseas invitees, along with the best local talent should figure in the remaining friendlies -- a sort of final audition for players seriously seeking to secure spots in Whitmore's 'Mission to Rio' squad.
Following an undesirable set of results last year, the Boyz bounced back with encouraging performances and results this year in four friendly matches.
In February, they defeated Cuba (1-0 and 3-0) in two games in Kingston and Montego Bay, before journeying to New Zealand to chisel out a 3-2 over the Oceana giants.
In a lone game in March on a downsized FIFA calendar for friendly internationals, 10-man Jamaica and Costa Rica played to a 0-0 draw inside 'The Office'.
Though he may say that the final results in these practice games are not by themselves crucial, Whitmore would no doubt want to maintain his winning run to take a positive momentum into the World Cup qualifiers.
JFF boss Captain Horace Burrell said he negotiated the Guyana game because it could give players and the technical staff a feel of Antigua and Barbuda, who are grouped with the Boyz in the CONCACAF eliminations.
Guyana, who have seen a recent surge in their game, are expected to be at full strength for the 8:00 pm kick-off in the scenic north-west of the island, which has recently staged a flurry of international matches.
Guyana eliminated former regional powerhouse Trinidad and Tobago to advance to the CONCACAF semi-finals.

Full-Strength Reggae Boyz To Face Panama

THE Reggae Boyz have secured another timely friendly international to help in their preparation for the World Cup Qualifying campaign opener against Guatemala here at the National Stadium in June 8.
Captain Horace Burrell, president of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), on Wednesday announced that the Panama Football Federation, with whom the JFF had already negotiated and agreed on a friendly international on May 27 here at the National Stadium, has offered to host the Reggae Boyz in Panama for a return fixture on June 1 with a kick-off time yet to be confirmed.

In addressing the media at a press conference to launch Jamaica Money Market Brokers' renewed support for the JMMB/JFF/UTech Coaching School at the JFF headquarters yesterday, Captain Burrell said that national head coach Theodore Whitmore would have all of Jamaica's top players, including those based overseas, at his disposal for those games.
The JFF boss said that the top players would be in a training camp, which will be called to prepare the Boyz for the important World Cup Qualifying fixture against Guatemala, and away to Antigua and Barbuda four days later.
The game here on May 27 is set for a 6:00 pm kickoff, with admission prices being: Grandstand Category One - $2,500; Grandstand Category Two - $2,000; and Bleachers - $800.
It is expected that players such as Marlon King, Omar Cummings, Ryan Johnson, Dane Richards, Luton Shelton, Chris Humphrey, whom it is believed has now acquired his travel documents, as well as Darren Pratley, Marvin Elliott, Jason Morrison, Rodolph Austin, Omar Daley, Keammar Daley, Je-Vaughn Watson, Claude Davis, Demar Phillips, Damion Stewart, Nathan Smith, Donovan Ricketts and Dwayne Miller could be in camp from as early as middle to late May.
Names such as Jermaine Beckford of Leicester City, Jobi McAnnuf, the Reading captain, who has played for Jamaica as a teenager in 2002, and Junior Hoilett of Blackburn, who can also represent Canada, are also said to be in the mix.

Panama will open their World Cup Qualifying campaign away to Honduras on June 8, then host Cuba four days later.
The Panama tie follows on the heels of two friendlies against Cuba, one against New Zealand for the month February, and last month's showdown against Costa Rica.

I accustom to we having at least one or two danger man with speed. Seem like all dese men getting leave out easy easy.

Honestly, I feel like i'm watching a Jamaican team..

This kinda football is not Trinidadian.
And yet the Caribbean's best hope for a representative at the World Cup in Brazil is Jamaica. And this same Jamaican team will qualify for the 2013 Gold Cup which means they won't be knocked out of the Digicel Cup by teams like Grenada and Guyana.

Montesso defends team strategy, selection
BY ANDREW HANCEL Observer writer
Friday, March 23, 2012

JAMAICA'S starting 11 against Costa Rica in Wednesday's international friendly at the National Stadium, in some people's minds, was far from an impressive unit.
The middle comprised two holding midfielders in Damian Williams and Rohan Reid in a standard 4-4-2 formation. Jermaine Hue, the lone creative midfielder in the team, was left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes, in a team boasting only two overseas-based players.

Boyz made it difficult for us, says Ticos coach
BY ANDREW HANCEL Observer writer
Friday, March 23, 2012

COSTA Rican head coach Jorge Luis Pinto was clearly left frustrated by an ultra-defensive ploy by Jamaica in their international friendly in Kingston Wednesday night.
Los Ticos played with a numerical advantage for 53 minutes after the Reggae Boyz captain and central defender Jermaine Taylor was ejected by Canadian referee David Gantar for a second caution.
Jamaica’s Rohan Reid (left) and Costa Rica’s Jose Miguel Cubero challenge for a high ball during their international friendly at the National Stadium on Wednesday night. The game ended 0-0. (Photo: Garfield Robinson)
 1/1
But despite the edge in numbers and ball possession the Central Americans, who has had decent results against football powerhouses like Spain, Argentina and Brazil, were unable to break down a defiant Jamaican defence.
"It's being a complicated game, we are not satisfied that we were one man more and didn't take advantage...," said the Columbian Pinto through an interpreter.
"But in the end the results are positive because we are seeing a very good outcome of players in preparation of our world cup qualifiers coming up," he noted.
Both sides were unable to field full strength line-ups due to the fact that Wednesday wasn't an official FIFA date for friendly games.
Jamaica did create a few goal-scoring opportunities, but arguably the best chance of the match fell to Jairo Arrieta around the hour mark.
Arrieta had a deflected free-kick falling fortuitously for him but the Deportivo Saprissa striker blazed over the top from six yards.
So disappointed by the Arrieta's failure to put away such an excellent chance, Pinto immediately pulled the plug, replacing him with midfielder Nestor Monge.
"We know (for Jamaica) that there are some players that were missing. But overall, we think it's a very good team with some players who do make a big difference," Pinto said.
"Unfortunately, out of two clear opportunities that we had one of them should've been a goal. But thanks to the way how Jamaica developed throughout the game it made it more difficult for us."
Having said that, however, Pinto believes it was an opportunity missed by his more inexperienced players, who are battling for places in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers starting June.
"We are very satisfied with the development of the game. We haven't been able to put some pressure on the opposing team," he said. "It's crucial for any team to have a very good 90 minutes of total pressure on the opposing team throughout the game.
"We were able to do that throughout some parts of the game but we still had some impatience because we didn't come with enough attacking men on our bench, so that complicated things a little bit. In the end the result is positive."

Costa Rica hold shorthanded Jamaica to draw

Jamaica's Reggae Boyz lost captain Jermaine Taylor in the first half but they never lost spirit as they battled courageously to a goalless scoreline against Costa Rica inside the National Stadium last night.
The result snapped a three-game winning streak by the Jamaicans, who were coming off 1-0 and 2-0 triumphs over Caribbean neighbours Cuba here on February 22 an 24, as well as a 3-2 victory over New Zealand in Auckland on February 29

Ricketts: We have to be ambitious

Having received a bye during the previous round of CONCACAF qualifying, Theodore Whitmore’s young Jamaica side will need to be at their best to negotiate a four-team group that includes the mighty USA and take another step towards the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. Given the Caribbean nation have been absent from the finals since 1998, Donovan Ricketts, the team’s veteran goalkeeper, spoke to FIFA.com about their chances of ending their drought.

Anyone in the official know that confirm about that particular match.

CFU & Concacaf are not up to dam.... Go figure :rotfl:

Cheers   19
Correct or not. Those standings seem pretty accurate to me. ;D

With Puerto Rico losing 0-1 to Guyana. Even with a win, draw or lose scenario between Cuba and T&T U20 Girlz in their last match Jamaica's Reggae Girlz have automatically been assured of the best second winner spot to advance to the 2012 U20 Girlz qualifiers next round.

No they don't , if two teams from two diffrent groups have the same points then it becomes a goal differential issue. Cuba already has six points do they not  :o however if Cuba is to lose to TnT today then its goal diff. between Cuba & Jamaica.

So the fat lady has not quite sung yet ;D
Check again! Cuba has 4 points, not 6. They drew 1-1 with Puerto Rico.

Groups A&B  looks straight forward. Group C is the group of death. Panama and Canada will fight for the second spot.

Things always look straight forward beforehand but there is always one performer who lets themselves down and another who performs above expectations! Don't forget what happened in our group and also in Haiti's group in the 2nd round!

At least one of these three teams Canada, Guyana & Antigua is going to get surprise victories against the other higher rated teams in their group! Just watch and see, there is going to be a couple of upsets!!  :beermug:
That would be true if Antigua & Barbuda's qualifiers were all home games. And it would be quite a stretch, even then. If there is a big scoreline in their first qualifier away against the USA then the A&B players will be a bit demoralised and self confidence will be low, at home against a strong Reggae Boyz squad who would have just taken 3 points from Guatemala in their first qualifier at "The Office". :beermug:

Local television network to air St Catherine leagues

THE St Catherine Football Association (FA) has struck a deal with the RJR Group that will see league games being broadcast delayed on Television Jamaica Sports Network (TVJSN) starting November 19.

The matches will be aired at 10 'o clock each Saturday morning with repeat broadcasts two times each week for the rest of the season. Re-broadcast days will be announced. This is a further boost for the LIME-sponsored St Catherine League which is in its second of a three-year $15m deal.

Peter Reid, president of the St Catherine FA, was delighted for the additional exposure of the leagues.

"I am very glad that and this is great for St Catherine football with the desired exposure to wider Jamaica. The clubs will be better for the exposure and people will have a better understanding of football in the parish," said an elated Reid.

"Thanks to our sponsor LIME for taking this initiative because they have raised the bar from last season and this is further evidence that we are working together as a team. The entire Jamaica will be able to look at football in the parish properly packaged," he added.

The entire St Catherine Football Association season, which has been sponsored by LIME over three years, comprises three major competitions -- Major League, Division One and the Lincoln 'Happy' Sutherland Knockout.

The Division One competition kicked off earlier with newly promoted Watson Grove, Central League winners Old Harbour Bay, Cumberland, Albion United, Treadways, Waterford, Upfront United, Flamingo, Travellers and Benbow United (winners of the North League) vying for the title.

The Major League will comprise Spanish Town Police, last season's Division One champion Frazier's Whip, former champion Black Lion, Portsmouth, Christian Pen, Tru-Juice, Wanderers, McCook's Pen, Rodwood, Dunbeholden and DB Basovak.

Meanwhile, 31 teams entered the 'Happy' Sutherland Knockout and it is now down to the last eight following some stunning upsets over the last two weeks.
Premier League outfit, Portmore United are odds on favourite to lift the KO title following their impressive 12-0 hammering of Ensom City in the second round. Premier League record goalscorer, Roen Nelson, netted four times.

:cursing: :cursing: Why did this have to happen against T&T. The Reggae Boyz #1 Caribbean football rivals whom I very much wanted Jamaica's Reggae Boyz to meet in the HEX. Now my wish won't come true which means I will have to revise this poll since Guyana is not on the list:
http://www.socawarriors.net/forum/index.php?topic=54637.0

As for the downfall of T&T's football. I remember when a thread was posted about Jamaica's Reggae Boyz whom were in a similar, but not this bad situation.

http://www.socawarriors.net/forum/index.php?topic=28791.0;topicseen

And is it possible to get a report from BM and SM whom were at the match. ;D

Why are you being nice all of ah sudden, why yuh not laughing yuh nuts off? i would if i was you.
I know you would. Hence the reminders.
Keeping with that perspective T&T most recently, it seems has a rational fear of been embarrassed or laughed at.  So T&T have chosen to play teams in their league or below their league. In other words: teams that T&T can beat, simply to build on the hype that T&T is still a top football nation.   .

http://www.socawarriors.net/mens-senior-team/senior-team-news/fixtures-results.html

http://www.socawarriors.net/mens-senior-team/senior-team-news/fixtures-results.html

But Jamaica have braved the laugh and scorn of T&T and the footballing World even being given a new moniker "The Reggae Toyz". So while Jamaica was losing matches against good competition. The Reggae Boyz were also getting the occasional result and lifting regional titles which slowly push up their ranking into the top six of CONCACAF's power nations. And a spot into the semi-final round of the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup.
So now, all the Reggae Boyz have to do for the next few months is continue to experiment and whatever the result; win, lose or draw. The Reggae Boyz will be prepared for the 2014 Road to Brazil. ;D

So there is nothing really to laugh about,
